Gem of Ease Workaround

The recent patch added a new Gem to help players powerlevel their characters on their own without having to rely on or be a burden to others. Unfortunately players level so fast that they might outlevel the monsters in the area they're farming and end up not getting any exp. This will be fixed in the future, but Tsarnis has suggested a workaround for now. Read below.

We have added some new Legendary Gems to the game in patch 2.1.2 (full patch notes can be found here), and we wanted to take a quick moment to point out an issue with the Gem of Ease and provide a workaround for this problem.

Due to how the game scales monsters to match player levels, it is possible to rapidly out level enemies when you have the Gem of Ease equipped, at which point you will no longer be receiving experience points for monster kills.

If this occurs, simply leave your immediate area and travel to a portion of the map that you haven't yet explored in your current game. This will cause any new monsters you encounter that were not yet engaged to automatically scale to your new level, and allow you to resume your rapid experience gain.

We hope this helps and that you enjoy your time in Diablo III!

Thanks!

Ancient Items Clarification

A user on the official forums asked if Ancient items can drop below level 70, if you are playing above Torment I. Nevalistis replied explaining that an item can only roll as Ancient at level 70, and only in Torment I or above. Read below.

Not that I'm aware of. Ancient Items are max level only just like sets.

This is correct. Only level 70 items have a chance of rolling as Ancient, and only in Torment I or above.

Quinsane 2.1.2 Monk

The highest rated build of our website since the inception of the Builds section, for Monks, has been recently updated by Quinsane (aka Quin69) for Patch 2.1.2. Those looking to either bring characters based on this build up to date, or looking for a solid choice for early 2.1.2 - this is for you. The video he posted also goes through the differences in the set (for those not following the PTR), and talks about some gameplay differences. Check it out!
