Hellfire Amulet and Hodradric Caches

Nevalistis jumped on a thread to explain that Hellfire Amulet can also roll as an Ancient Legendary, with boosted stats but no changes to any Legendary affix. She also clarified something really important - that Horadric Caches farmed before 2.1.2 will not have a chance to drop Ancient items. So it might be a waste of space and time to keep all those Caches until 2.1.2. Read below!

Yes, I can!

Any Legendary has a chance to roll as Ancient. This includes both the Hellfire Amulet and the Hellfire Ring (as well as Horadric Cache-specific Legendaries, like Ring of Royal Grandeur). It's worth noting, though, that the Ancient modifier does not alter Legendary affixes.

In short, an Ancient Hellfire Amulet won't give you additional passives. However, applicable stats, like Dexterity or Life on Hit for example, will benefit from the Ancient upgrade.

Hi Neva. Regarding cache servers... If we farm them now and open them when the next patch hits live, can the specific legendaries from these farmed caches roll as ancient items?

Good question. The answer is no. Caches acquired prior to the 2.1.2 Patch will not have a chance to drop Ancient items after the launch of 2.1.2 Only caches acquired after the patch launches will have a chance to drop Ancient items.

Marauder Hotfix and Leaderboard Reset

A hotfix for the Marauder set has been deployed to the PTR, and with it some leaderboards were reset to allow for more credible statistics. Those who are helping test the changes to sets on the PTR can now attempt their best at Greater Rifts and see how far they get with the change!

We are bringing the PTR realms down for a short maintenance today in order to apply the following hotfix:

• Embodiment of the Marauder
  
  • Fixing an issue where the 6 piece set bonus damage was erroneously applying to Sentry damage.

We'll also be resetting the following Leaderboards to allow this change to be reflected in Leaderboard performance:

• Solo Demon Hunter
• 2-Player
• 3-Player
• 4-Player

We currently anticipate downtime to be short and last from 3 PM PT to 4 PM PT. Please keep an eye on this thread for updates as they become available.
