PS3 Exclusives Just for Flavor, No Beta on Console Version, What D3 Character Would You Hang Out with, Grey Items Will Turn into

PS3 Preorder Exclusives are Just for Flavor
The screenshots of the PS3 preorder exclusive items confused some players with their stats. Turns out the stats were mostly placeholders.

These are the real items. And, yes, we are really going to release the console version of the game with those items available. :)

They're not intended to be game-changing items by any means. They're just some fun bonuses you can get by pre-ordering or by purchasing Diablo III for the PS3. We fully expect that some players will upgrade from those items quite quickly, while others may use them more regularly or for longer periods of time -- either because of their looks or their stats (obviously that will depend on the player and what kind of build/playstyle they're going for).

Edit: I just realized...in case you don't know where these items are from, be sure to check out this article: http://us.battle.net.../blog/10174614/

Any particular reason why they're lvl 57 items as opposed to early game items?
Triple-checking with console developers now on the intended ilvl for each of the items. (Give me a few to get back to you?)

I seriously hope that's not with the itemization patch?! Is this what we're all waiting for on the pc version??
No no. Not at all. They're just bonus flavor items (and, like I noted above, I'm re-checking on the displayed ilvls). :)

Alright, looks like the tooltips are incorrect on most of the items, which I originally missed in your post as the thing you were calling out. (I'm going to request that we get new shots taken.)

Infernal Helm - Required level: n/a
The Hero's Journey, Leroric's Gauntlets, and Drake's Amulet - Required level: 1
Leah's Ring - Required level: 60

*updated required levels

I don't expect these items to change, but it would be nice if you could pass on what I'm trying to say.
Happy to!

No Plans for Beta on Console Versions
It looks like there won't be any 'Sign of beta' fan posts as far as the console versions go.

What Diablo III Character Would You Hang Out with for a Day?

Although each has their own unique story to tell, few would likely make for desirable company outside their digital realm.

But everyone, be it a Fallen Shaman, Archangel, or cunning scoundrel, sometimes needs some time off from battling for Sanctuary's future. So, for our latest community question, we want to ask:

You get to hang out with one Diablo III character for a day. Who do you choose?

Grey Items Will Turn into Gold
In order to make console gameplay convenient, the itemization ideas are getting implemented at full speed. One of them being grey and white items automatically turning into gold instead of the player having to waste time picking them up (if at all) and going to sell them in town.

It is true that itemization on the console has been adjusted, too, but these adjustments are made to better tailor the experience to the platform.

For example, you'll see less items drop on console and those that drop will typically be of higher quality overall. Also, when a white or grey item drops, there is a chance it gets automatically converted into gold. These changes are made to manage the flow of gameplay and give console players the opportunity to focus on combat as much as possible, and spend less time managing their inventory.

Again, these are console-specific adjustments, not to be confused with the itemization revamp that is in the works for the PC version.

E3 Gallery - Part 2
A few days after the appearance of the first batch of E3 photos, a second portion was posted on the official Diablo III Facebook page.
