Closed Beta Players - "One of the Chosen" Feat of Strength
It looks like people who were invited into the closed beta will be getting a feat of strength along with a unique sigil after logging in for the first time.

For eligible players, this feat will appear automatically in the Feat of Strength list after logging in for the first time as well as unlock a unique sigil that can be used on character banners.

In order to be eligible for "One of the Chosen," you must have had a Diablo III closed beta license attached to your Battle.net account (it isn't necessary to have downloaded or logged into the beta itself). Please note that players who participated only in the Open Beta Weekend, but were not invited to the closed beta, will not receive this Feat of Strength.

I suppose this is good. Feat of Strength? Don't care. The sigil is what matters. Acknowledge my existence, lesser beings!

This is actually really terrible of them to do, I'd understand it if they had given it to anyone with betamaxed or overachiever, but anyone that had received the invite?

I see what a lot are saying about tying it to betamax or overachiever (I got both) but put it this way - they frequently wiped achievements. I'm pretty sure they didn't save or register those accounts who got both.

I'm pretty sure they have no records of beta accounts bar those that were in and those that weren't.

Therefore it's probably a case of reward nothing or something. They went for something (and it's not much - I like to compare GW2's upcoming bonuses for pre-ordering and beta entry).

I had beta acces and I found your whining so unjustified. WHO THE HELL cares about a crappy FoS/Sigil, certainly not me...
  • #44 Weezner
    Yay thanks Blizz!

The amount of angry people over this is incredible. It is one sigil out of probably hundreds.

Every objection I have read so far says "this is lame because it was based on random luck." By your own statements you are stating how meaningless an unprestigious this FoS and sigil are, so why complain?

Which makes it all the more worth it. The rage is so sweet, I'll run this sigil and this one only. Ever.

Well this is just silly. I was in the beta and I am against this change. I will certainly taunt my friends with the sigil now though.

Do you think us Chosen Ones should form some own channels to separate us from the normal people? :) *kidding* :)

    WEWT! NAANAANABOOBOO!

This would be fine if it was truly random, but it was far from it.

All "press" automatically get this, even without opting in.
The fansites that got keys to give out got to choose who gets this (including those who secretly tossed a couple to their personal friends).

Add in that many people who got in didn't even play, and this becomes the least-thought-out crap I've seen from Blizzard in years.

    I got beta. Woot.
But for those who didn't get beta: way to spit on your face again, fellows.

I just see it as the way to thank some people. And seriously a vigil is not THAT MUCH of a gift. It will be as rare as the reveal vigils in one year.
  • #52 Kael13
Yeah, so that totally helped reduce the animosity towards 'lucky' beta players.
  • #53 GunZi200
what about us who pre ordered the game, won't we get anything special? :)
  • #54 Highlander
I'd gladly give my sigil and achievement away if it would stop the crybabies from whining and stomping their feet.

I just want the world to know, that i have a sandy, sandy, sandy, sandy vagina. And that i am outraged that i wont get this perfectly meaningless footnote attached to my account. So that i may sit in public chat channels, hoping my profile will be inspected, and have others stare jealously at an achievement called "One of the Chosen" and recognize me for the very special and cool person that i am. Thanks blizzard, you have ruined my life. I no longer see a point in living.

That's kinda cool, but yea getting Betamaxed should have been the way to obtain the feat but cool nonetheless.

Exactly my thought, would of at least restrained the number of people with it, and would of gone to players who actualy ''played'' the beta to its maximum for the longest time aswell. I guess the problem was, with the many resets they couldnt dig older 'betamaxed' and that could of been unfair.
  • #57 SoEasy
Yeah! I'm so awesome, I get achievement! SO COOL I AM! :D
  • #58 Ayr
I'm not sure I agree with rewarding luck but there will probably be achievements for the collector edition too and those requires only money so I'm just gonna not care.

Dont worry, you can live vicariously through me, I have the Sigil - I'am one of the chosen. Just search my profile when the game goes live and bask in the glory of those who are better than others.
