Servers Go Live At 00:01 CEST for the European Region
This is rather big news! There's also some good info for other midnight launch events around the EU. Though this blog post has had its time changed twice, it looks like this is the final time!

Each event will have its own activities, giveaways, and contests, so see the press release for further details and be sure to check the launch event site for more info on the one nearest you.
Whether you’re attending a launch event, grabbing the game at a local store, or waiting patiently at home for your digital version to unlock, you’ll want to be ready to jump in right when the servers open. For the European region, the game servers will go live at 00:01 CEST on May 15. As a reminder to our Russian players, the Russian-language version of the game will be available digitally and at retail starting June 7.
Don’t forget to create your BattleTag — it's important to do so now if you haven't already, as it’s REQUIRED TO PLAY DIABLO III. Also note that if you’d like to receive a digital copy of Diablo III free, there are still a few days left to sign up for the World of Warcraft Annual Pass.
We hope to see you at one of our Diablo III launch events and we look forward to seeing you in-game on May 15!

But D3 is not region locked so he should be able to play on the EU when they go live. Hell, everyone should be able to, right?
The issue is, your copy (if you bought digital that is) wont unlock until 12:01 PDT, so you wont have a game in order to be able to connect to the EU servers.

Thank Molster, for setting me straight.
Yeh I know mate. I think despite everyones childish "I want my first" bitching, I think things would simply be easier if it was just available TO PLAY on set date.
Now I'll have to cancel the hookers and kegs.
The eu client does not do them any good if their d3 license does not unlock until 12:01 PDT ( once again this is referring to the digital preorder tho)
No, pacific time is GMT-8.
thats PST, he is asking PDT =)
You have to love Daylight savings time!
