This is a relatively small patch containing only a few minor crash fixes. As always, though, patch notes will be posted to the launcher and this forum once the patch is live.

So while there may not be any beta invites in this wave for the EU, we will have more information in the following weeks about the global giveaways as well as for regional betas for you. Beta to Retail Saves
Beta characters and achievements will not carry over to the final game. When Diablo III launches it will be a clean slate for everyone.
If it helps, you can blame it on the Lord of Terror. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Patch Notes
If we make visible gameplay or UI changes, we'll definitely note them. Same for notable bug fixes, too.
The difference with the last two patches, however, is that they've only really included fixes for crashes that are relatively minor or simply affect a small percent of the beta population. The fixes themselves are pretty technical (as are the crashes), so that's why we made a more generic statement like the above.
This is pretty standard and you may see more patch notes like this in the future (if a patch happens to contain similar fixes and nothing else).
We'll detail fixes we feel have an impact on gameplay, are meaningful to players, or could use additional testing, absolutely (we've done it in previous patches). On top of that, if we think a specific fix could use a bit more visibility and/or feedback, we'll sometimes call it out with a forum post, too.
The fixes that went with in patch 11 and 12, while worth noting that they occurred, were really minor in the end, as well as highly technical, so we chose to do a general call-out. This is fairly common for beta patches (though not for live patches).
That said, I totally understand why you'd like the extra information and will definitely pass that feedback along.
What about the firebat, disintegrate, and rapidfire spells breaking the game bug?
I'll check on this for you. Either way, this is a fix that would merit a separate patch note line. If it was missed with this patch, I'll be sure to amend the notes appropriately. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

I was quite excited to find that I had gotten into the beta. My first hitch with it was when I tried launching Diablo III: "unsupported video card". Now, my video card is not terribly dated (got it in mid-'09) but I can guess why I got the error -- video drivers that haven't been updated since even before WoW: Cataclysm launched. Since it is impossible for me to do that, I had to copy the D3 folder onto my sister's computer. And then after all that I needed to create a Battle Tag. (Stupid Battle Tag...)
The "Options" tab is pretty organized, has helpful tooltips... I think the only hang-up was with some sub-tabs randomly disappearing but I can't recall which. After that, I went to the Hero Creation screen and chose the monk. The "Game" options were somewhat confusing but quick to pick up on. Cue "Start Game".
I began with a private game so I could learn things on my own without feeling the pressure of "gogogo" with a public version. I felt quite satisfied with the pacing, although gold pickup was (and still is) annoying. After completing the beta on private, I moved on to public.
Ah, public...
Nearly all players just zoom through the entire act: pulling and KO'ing all the mobs with no need to think (sound familiar?), skipping at least most of the dungeon(s), and to top it all off is the insane xp gain. For example, I rolled a Demon Hunter and went straight to a public game with him. At the end, despite everything that had been skipped, he was level 9. It took my monk much longer to get there by soloing even though I did not skip.
So in conclusion: I loved the graphics and core gameplay, the music is fitting, the voice acting flows smoothly, and the mobs do plenty of dying. What needs improving is the gold pickup radius, the stupidly high xp gain, and a toggle for displaying advanced tooltips by default.
See you in Diablo III (beta or otherwise)!
huh? there is no "extra xp gain" in multiplayer... you just kill faster therefor you level faster because mobs are dying faster. the amount of mobs that appear and what appears is random so your monk run could of randomly got alot of small groups while your group coincidentally got bigger groups. because the amount of mobs also doesnt change in multi player
A valid point, but I'm not so sure about it myself.
Edit: About the killing speed being the main factor, I mean.
considering they kept saying how there not trying to force co-op making it so much better then solo this would definitely contradict that. they say you should be able to kill faster with a good group but in later difficulties you'l have to have a decently skilled group and work together or else you'll all die and itll be harder then soloing. if you truly got more xp per kill then no one would solo to 60.
Almost every decision that was made for this game was the exact opposite of what they should do. It is just an isometric Borderlands which will be fine for a lot of people but is the opposite of what I think it should be. Quite honestly, I think Torchlight 2, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, even W.A.R.maybe will all be better games than D3.
Blizzard has just lost their way as Activision exerts more and more control over their decisions.
There we go, you actually summarized the threads questions, good read =D I too am kind of annoyed with the gold radius, but supposedly +gold pickup radius items should help. IMO I want companions back, that was the best =P
As far as the faster leveling, that was solely due to the fact that with 4 people who are out-leveling and out-gearing the beta content can rip through it much faster than you could from level 1 up. In later difficulties this won't be the case tho, so you should still be able to level about the same solo =D
Oh goody, looks like I won't have the misfortune of running into you =D
I guess it's a way to promote people to try out all the classes and get the extra achievements?
The graphics are nice, the gameplay is a bit clunky at times -- I think the gold radius needs to be enlarged some.
Is it a bad game? No. Will it live up to D1 and D2? No, but most sequels don't.
I started with the Wizard and shot through, unlocking every achievement I could on him and getting him to level 13 in about 12 hours. He consistently killed things in 2 hits (minus elites, obv). He had a solid mix of single target abilities but also aoe that wrecked havoc on everything I came upon.
For my 2nd character I settled on WD since he seems the most unique and honestly, I'm not impressed.
His poison dart past the introductory quests comes across as too underpowered. Where my wizard 2 shot things, the WD can take up to 6 shots to kill zombies, that's with waiting for the poison dot to deal its additional damage.
His exploding frogs seem like a waste of mana/arcane -- just about every cast, 1-2 of them would hit some pebble in the road or an invisible wall and explode prematurely, quite often they'd explode at my feet the second I cast them.
So, being disappointed with the frogs, I got excited when I unlocked the zombie dogs -- that is, until I used them. Just like his darts, they're just too underpowered. Running around in the cathedral I came across a group of 5 (might've been 4) zombies and decided to see how'd my dogs do -- they died. Sure, they were outmatched and only meant to supplement my abilities but on a 1v1 fight that I did Zombie vs. Zombie dog, about 50% of the time the dog died still.
I'm sure the WD will get better but working through it right now, I'm not convinced that he's balanced enough in the early game.
Though I'll concede the point that I could be headed down the wrong track and that maybe the wizard is just too powerful and the WD is actually where it needs to be.
I'll keep playing him and get around to the other classes as well.
But on a sidenote: Did they really need to make the WD a carbon copy of Dhalsim from Street Fighter?
I notice Diablo 3 is randomly stuttering as you move your character.
Don't get me wrong, loving the beta but as with any game, there are concerns at hand.
I beg to differ, traveling to the past has been a blast for me thus far!
Just play the game, you'll see it's gonna be good. I'm also looking forward to Grim Dawn and TL2 the most after D3. And prease shed some right on why you say Activision control Blizz decisions.
Let's hope it stays that way, then.
same here. WD was the most fun by light years. the wiz and DH are good but just because they are good doesnt make them fun. their later spells will probably be alot more fun though looking at the skill calc
the barbarian and wizard are too strong currently imo, unless they slow down their attacks slightly which is what they should do imo
DH and monk should be fast attacking lower power, wizard and barbarian slow and powerful, WD a nice blend.
That's how I feel with most games, don't like long ranged characters; WD is also kinda ranged, but can be played with at close range. Melee characters just feel more powerful and satisfying imo.
Don't you mean crushingly satisfying?
Joking aside, I agree. I typically find it a more enjoyable experience being up-close to my foes.
