Bashiok was quick to update us on the official forums.
Official Blizzard Quote:
The monk class page has been updated with all-new art and the in-game model of the female monk. The monk class was announced at BlizzCon, but only the male version was shown at the time. The female option is now revealed on the monk class page.
Both images, as well as the 3D render, showcase the same armor style as the male monk (as would be expected), and personally, I think it flows very nicely with the current art style. It's simple, yet has a splash of color that will provide some extra eye candy in game. Something else I noticed that was similar between the two genders, was the beads they wear around their necks. Nothing has been said about it thus far, but perhaps background lore about the monks order will be tied into them in the near future.
On a sidenote, it seems that the pixie haircut is here to stay. I'm sure we'll warm up to it once we start eviscerating monsters in style, no other character got a haircut that rad.
Now, after having the official monk art revealed, I wonder if any Female Monk Fanart can compare...
(Also, props to Seniri and Shatterer for bringing this to our attention)
That said. She's sporting a Paladin Tier 8 bottom half(with slits in the dress) and a fair of what looks like priest tier 9 shoulders.
I support big shoulderpads. So I guess Blizzard is making this game for me, since I seem to be the only one here who doesn't hate them.
Now we definitely need a gender switch on the other character pages as well though
and I hope they include the male / female rendered version of the other classes on their pages..
I guess you all noticed that you can select the gender you want to see on the monk page.
Was that you on Kotaku or are you just copying that post? That was me who asked if you're mentally challenged, and the question still holds. I love how breast-obsessed you are - just because they're not the size of watermelons she looks like a dude to you. That's sick. Move to Australia and leave us normal people alone, creep.
Edit: Link is to news article on Australia banning small breasts.
About her armor, i liked it too. Never forget that in Diablo everyone can use any armor. So theres no such things as casters using light armor only. Every class use heavy armor, even the monk and the WD. The challenge is make the heavy armor fit the class, and they did it very well so far.
Really, if my monk is capable of defeating a entiry legion of demons and the lesser evils (and maybe even a greater one), i really don't know what he/shes is not capable of. My monk will wear heavy armor and feel more light then us naked.
If I choose to play a Monk (I know I will play Witch Doctor first), I will be picking the Female version for sure.
Keep the ball rollin' Blizzard
For anyne still complaining about the over sized shoulder pads, please read Zhar's post about proportioned pauldrons. It explains that they look over-sized straight on in order to look normal in the isometric view.
As far as her look, I like it. She seems a bit older and more rugged which is good.
Pretty sure there aren't any available to us so far...
Only concept art and the 3-D rendering.
1200 posts :DDDDDDDDDDDD
I wonder when they will, if they do, share video content of the female monk. It would be nice to see what she looks like in game.
I really hope they keep the beads, they really add a nice touch to the monk. Reminds me of some of the depictions of buddhist monks(most often in anime and whatnot).
Edit-
Oh and Akuma/Gouki from Street Fighter!
Blizzard must be making the game for us, I like big shoulder armor also I think it make them look powerful, not to mention since we have new armor slots to fill in D3, I would like heavy class armor to look, heavy, bulky, and powerful!... Can you tell I'm a Barb kinda guy? lol
P.s. The russian language at the official site, the very nice to me. But the translate from english time to time not exactly.. Epic, yes epic.
