Belial has been confirmed in a recent IGN article!
So could Belial, like some have guessed, been posing as Tyrael to destroy the Worldstone?Originally Posted by Jay Wilson
The first act is a little bit more of a mystery, there's this cult that has been operating in and around the rebuilt Tristram, you're trying to find out who they are. Act two's a little bit more of an intrigue and deception-focused story, because Belial is in there. Act three, there's a lot more.
Also a 5th class tidbit:
So that's that! One more class to drool over and then lots more questions about Belial and the possibility of him posing as Tyreal! I'm very curious how they'll work that one into D3, sometimes they're subtle hints to things like this, but in this case we'll have to see what the brilliant minds have in store for us!IGN: Have you confirmed how many unrevealed classes there are, to round out the entire party?
Jay Wilson: There's one more.
IGN: You did mention that it's being revealed next year, and that it's someone from the previous games?
Jay Wilson: I did say that. I probably shouldn't have said that, because we're not sure that's going to be the case. It's just logical, that's what we tend to do. But it may or may not. I'm not gonna answer it, anyway? [laughs]

I am sure it was not Belial who actually destroyed the Worldstone.
EIT: Actually remembered that "Hell" is now ruled by them now, so they would still have to be alive to do this
Nvrmnd LOL
but i certainly wouldnt mind at all
if belial was tyreal lol
technically belial could be any character you come acrossed ever so ya its a possibility
It seems like if you said it was belial posing as Tyrael to destroy the worldstone it wouldn't only ruin Tyrael in Diablo III, but also ruin my fond memories of what i thought was him in Diablo II.
Oh well though, if they've got a good story cooking that messes with Tyrael, so be it.
I'm really curious as to what the next class is going to be though, based on the confusing hints that are set in place.
As far as a possibility that Tyrael is Belial?
YOU.
JUST.
BLEW.
MY.
MIND.
Although, if he ends up being a bad guy, I will be a bit disappointed, because as everyone has said, he's a total badass. But, I trust Blizzard to make it work out either way. So we'll see.
As for this final class...I'm thinking it's going to be a martial ranged class.
Wizard covers the magic ranged.
Witch Doctor covers summoning.
Barbarian is a melee brute.
Monk is the agile melee striker.
I can easily see something similar to the Amazon or original Rogue.
Also, it's nice to see the return of the Monk class.
First, no matter if Tyr is good or bad in D3 doesn't change the fact that he simply always " a bad moth*fuck* roaming the earth"...
But on a real note, it's so god damn obvious that they decided to stick with the amazon I mean c'mon. Why don't they just spill the beans already. They though about it for years and yeah the zon is the most rounded, versatile ranged class ever. Javs, Pikes, Bows..... You just can't beat that no mattter what. They probably put her there as a filler until someone thought of something better and after endless debate have come back to it since they probably realized that nothing is worth replacing this classic character. Anyone thinking "Barbarian". Same story, they were just epic characters that weren't given enough justice in D2 from the shoddy graphics...Oh yeah and both were somewhat nerfed at one point...(Bowzon-SwordNShield, Thrower Barb)...
That's just my opinion but I would bet anything (well maybe not anything..) that this is exactly wtf is going on at Blizzard.
As to renaming a Zonlike character to make it feel diff?
"That's just putting lipstic on a pig". Just replace the pig with the zon:thumbsup:
Personally, it would bother me if Tyrael was Belial, I wouldn't like it at all. What's special about Tyrael is that he's the only non-mortal (Auriel doesn't count, she just voted in favor of Sanctuary once) who has ever cared about humans. It would ruin part of the franchise's story, just my opinion.
The last class, I'm not sure it's going to be an older class like Jay Wilson said, it would be weird because he also said that our friend the Barb is the only returning class. So, to me:
If it's a new class -----> Some kind of druidic (?) archer
If it's an old class -----> definetly the Druid because
All classes from diablo 1 are dead, and come on, a male Rogue?
From d2, the paladin it's like replaced by the barb and the Monk (not in the initial release), the sorceress would be stupid, the necro could be in an expansion, the assassin replaced by the Monk, the amazon can't be a man (unless he attacks you with awesome political power, but they said gender doesn't change the class itself), the Druid is the only possibility, we wouldn't have the archer class, but we would have the shape-shifter class, so I don't know.
Sorry, I think I just walloftexted
But a real rogue, with poison skills, stealth, critical hits, sneak attacks, not just a warrior with bows.
The bowazon was a mix between warrior with bows and a mage, the rogue should be more deadly and agile. Just like a mix between the assassin and amazon. It could also have traps skills.
Monk women is one thing, amazon men is another, because according to the diablo lore (I read it somewhere, but have no source right now) male amazons work in politics, and women fight, because their body makes them more agile to fight in the jungle.
Thanks for filling me in (:
