A special thanks goes out to minsc&boo for chancing upon this jewel and posting it on our forums!"BlizzCon 2009 has also been announced, bigger, and better than the previous, this round it will take up the entire Anaheim Convention center! August 21-22, save the dates! Tickets will be on sale soon, buy them fast, they go record breakingly quick. There will be no Worldwide Invitational this year, as it will be combined with Blizzcon, so there will be even bigger tournaments and competitions this year."
So, how does everyone feel about this? Will anyone miss the WWI? Or will the grandeur of a bigger, better BlizzCon make up for it? What is everyone hoping will happen at this year's BlizzCon?
Its when, december??
Anyway, I suppose one could argue it technically would have been the US's turn to have the WWI, so I see no reason not to simply merge the two this year.
The only reason there is no WWI 2009 is because it was scheduled to be in Shanghai this year and Blizzard recently hss had a lot of problems with the Chinese Government and The9. That is why NetEase is the new Publisher of WoW and all Blizzard products in China now.
Well, seeing as the last Blizzcon was packed within days of ticket sales, and they even offered more afterward and they were gone instantly, I don't think they have much to worry about. People kill to get in to their events. They have the hearts and minds of many, many fans in just their three current franchises. I'm willing to bet that they're going to announce one of their two undisclosed titles at the Blizzcon this year.
That's a gross thing to hear Oh well, you can't fight big government.
I somehow doubt they're going to unveil both classes at Blizzcon.
So, you're getting the WWI and the Blizzcon at the same time. Twice the goodness, albeit shorter lived. It isn't "just" the Blizzcon, it's a bigger Blizzcon fused with the WWI
blizzard is doing this just to make money :_(
As for release date, "When it's done....."
Id say the realease date is a ways off and I'd rather not hear that it's coming in 2011 so I can still hope for 2010!!
Not happening, never happened, never will happen. They announce stuff like classes and acts at shows because:
1. Get some of that sweet $$$ from OCD fans who go to their show
2. They want other outlets (magazines, Gamespot, IGN, 1up) to make a huge splash of advertising for them for free. Their target for marketing isn't OCD people like us, they'll already get our money. They target Joe Slow who only played Diablo 2 for a month or, maybe, two.
Ah, and the Talisman is just probably where we'll store our lucky charms.
um... thats kinda the point of running a business...
