Mike Morhaime showed a cinematic of Diablo 3, now we are getting a gameplay video.
The Barbarian in this video fights over 20 mobs and he dispatches them easily. You can destroy and interact with the environment -- this is physics at work here. You can access the character window similar to World of Warcraft. Weapons can be enchanted. The barbarian is now doing whirlwind to deal with powerful enemies. Some lootable chests have traps ... the example given -- the chest activated a trap where many skeletal casters spawned to attack the barbarian. Deckard cain is talking in-game now in a interesting interface for RPG.
We see now a Witch Doctor class that can summon Mongrels as pets. He can create a wall of zombies to block incoming attacks of mobs from reaching you while you annihilate them. The Witch Doctor is a ranger basicaly casting from afar. The gameplay is about to end but before they want to show us what a real fight is in multiplayer with a witch doctor, a barbarian and a rogue. Holy cow this huge beast with four legs and a huge body that takes haf the screen is fighting the three classes. The beast is named Siegebreaker assault beast. It has a lot of HP but the 3 classes are doing heavy damage to it. It dropped an amulet and gold. The creature just exploded after looting and hundreds of skeletons now fighthing onscreen. Diablo 3 logo seals the gameplay video.

PARIS, France – June 28, 2008 – Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today revealed Diablo® III, the newest entry in its critically acclaimed action role-playing-game franchise. The announcement was made during the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment® Worldwide Invitational at the Porte de Versailles Convention Centre in Paris, France. A cinematic trailer and an extended gameplay demonstration with commentary from the development team introduced the game to the thousands of players in attendance.
“We’ve wanted to expand on the epic story and gameplay elements of the Diablo universe for some time now,” stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We know that players have also been long awaiting a return to the series, so we’re very excited to be sharing this announcement with Blizzard gamers here in Paris and around the world today.”
Diablo III will pick up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both Heaven and Hell, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram. Playing as a hero from one of five distinct character classes, players will acquire powerful items, spells, and abilities as they explore new and familiar areas of Sanctuary and battle hordes of demons to safeguard the world from the horrors that have arisen. The first two characters classes -- the barbarian and the witch doctor -- were shown as part of the announcement at the event today in Paris.
Diablo III will feature a custom 3D-graphics engine to render lush indoor and outdoor areas of Sanctuary with a high level of detail and vivid special effects. The game’s physics-enhanced environments will be interactive and destructible, offering traps and obstacles that create added danger for players and monsters alike. These elements, along with a new quest system and random scripted events, will be integrated into the game’s random-level generator, giving Diablo III the ultimate combination of dynamic gameplay and replayability. Cooperative and competitive play will be available online through an upgraded version of Blizzard Entertainment’s renowned online gaming service, Battle.net®.
Blizzard Entertainment is developing Diablo III for simultaneous release on the Windows® and Macintosh® PC platforms. Further information about the game, including details on the other character classes, major new features for the single-player and multiplayer components, system requirements, pricing, and availability, will be announced as development progresses. Also ,HAHAHAHAHAHA you peddy wow fans though a release date, You stupidness makes me laugh HAHAHAHa. that felt good
About the graphics, stop bitching. Period. The graphics are fine. "Cartooned" or not, its Diablo III. The gore, the violence, the destruction. The daemons and hell spawns. Thats what made diablo. Not its graphics. Do not insult the greatest series story wise and the greatest series game play wise that the action RPG genre has ever encountered.
But I am getting off topic here. And I do not want this post to be a rant, considering its my first. I want to thank again the webmasters of this site for being so die hard dedicated in bringing us the greatest community a fan could ask for. I want to thank the strong hearted followers who have never doubted that this game was being made, and through thick and thin were always believers. This is it. This is what we have been waiting for.
Now lets all just relax. Kick back and smile. No need to be frantically searching for more in depth details about the game. Trying to figure out classes, or any other unnecessary work. I think I can say for everyone that we have worked our asses off on rumors, stressing ourselfs out if its coming out this year or that year or the next. We have it boys. This is where we pour ourselfs a glass of Fuck Yeah, and await the game that we desire the most.
In the meantime, I will start posting on this site. Until then, adios.
I think once we can download the hi-res trailer and watch it that way, it'll show much much more close detail in the combat as to the gore and stuff.

The Tristram sound track!
I can say for myself and for everyone here that the announcement of Diablo 3 was well timed. I have been reading this forum for 3 1/2 years...and a lot of you I have gotten to know without even making one post. Umaro, Midevil, who have served us so well in bringing us a great fan site deserve respect, and at a moment like this a thank you. It has been a long wait...when starcract 2 was announced last year, and our rumor mill was jumping before its announcement, we all wanted it to be diablo iii. When the warcraft junkies got three games in 3 years, we were upset. But we have waited. And our patience and hardcore high hopes that this year would be ours has paid off. And saying this I want to post something to a few jackasses that have been saying some dumb things so far.:)
