Today a new Rumor Mill has ignited engines at the DiabloFans Forums with PC Action (Germany) using the same type of catchy riddle. Of course, it can be any game, and as some fans said: "... We are just picking straws, like we always do."
The riddle says:

30.05.2008 10:55 - We found out some secret information about a much awaited game, from a very well known game developer, whom we can't name. Sounds extremely important, doesn't it? Let's say: Pure thought about it makes our bedsheets wet. Got any ideas? Post them in the comments. Even if the hell froze and cows gave beer - we would spill nothig out!

UPDATE: Now PC Action is ... linking to Diablofans.com here
The reason this new rumor mill is rolling is the use of two intriguing connotations: Hell and Cows. Are fans seeing things where there is none? Collective hysteria? I don't know personally. Fans want the game so much, they jump to conclusions at unison. Who am I lying to? I am on that wagon myself.

Update: The internet is surely a magical gateway and pretty fast. Bluesnews is now echoing the rumor mill. Not a surprise, since any gaming news outlet out there dies to hear anything about a new Diablo installment from Blizzard. As an update, I just established contact with PC Action a few minutes ago (2pm EST/-5GMT). They were fast to reply. I will update in a few minutes (It is 1am Germany time, so I guess tomorrow I may get a official statement from PC Action).
On another note, Diablo fansite PurePandemonium claims to have gotten a statement today from Michael Gough - voice actor who performed as Deckard Cain in Diablo II. I don't know if this one is true either, but I do have Michael Gough's contact details from his agent since July 2007 -- it won't be hard to confirm. More updates as they become available.UPDATE June 5 10am EST (-5GMT).
PC Action: Unfortunately we are not allowed to talk about any details at the moment concerning this game

Something I reported a few months ago, which may explain why these rumors are taken so seriously is that the official Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals website's FAQ page says the following:UPDATE June 5 10am EST (-5GMT)
Blizzplanet: Though, brief and not really saying yes or no about the authenticy of the PurePandemonium email, Michael Gough replied my email. He won't talk further on the topic. I would say the PurePandemonium snippet from him is real. He was conservative and somewhat of a teaser without really confirming anything .... Let's just say he replied with riddles as he does in his role a la Deckard Cain. Grins.
Michael Gough: "I'm afraid I can offer no further info at this time, lest I be
lowered into a pit of boiling tar. But keep your eyes & ears open."
Slap me dumb, but I don't recall World of Warcraft or Starcraft 2 content requiring under age 16 players needing a babysitter (parent).Due to the nature of some content at the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational, attendees under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult (of 18 years and above).
Starcraft: Brood War was rated ESRB T (Teen). You can find the ESRB rating at the bottom of the Starcraft website. World of Warcraft is also rated ESRB T (Teen) ... find the rating at the bottom of the World of Warcraft official website.
TEEN
Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language.
And finally, Diablo II was rated ESRB M+17 (Mature) as you may see at the Diablo II website
MATURE
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.
Are you pondering, what I am pondering ... Pinky?
Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights all have cows. But not ones that walk on their hind legs and carry weapons. Though sometimes you do have to enter some back rooms and secret hide aways to find them.
I would have to agree with you, but that would stop a large number of people.
But the other part of me says blizzard is going to pull some obseen bs and give us a diffrent game, or nothing at all.
-Im hoping for the first one!-
And yeah, as someone said before, Southpark has cows, and Hell, but also aliens. Though its nothing really to get hyped over.
It has a cow and hell.
And the stupid naked devil guy. Ivan pantsed. or Red hinnybottom. His name changes each episode, BUtit either aluded to the fact he isn't wearing any pants (he has only worn pants twice) or his big red ass.
and yeah hell and cows that give beer sound a bit like diablo :D:D
Ah, I hate that naked devil guy! The animations for that show are too crude, I don't like it. Its the same as Ren and Stimpy. Like you can see all the veins, and everything is too shiny.
"I shall rain down doom upon your filthy doomed heads" - Zim
"I gonna sing the doom song now.. doom doom doom doom doom doom doom doomy doomy doom doom!!" Grr.
Not sure I truly buy into magazines reporting rumours, it's almost no different from a forum member posting what they think and passing it off as a rumour. I guess I just don't like rumours, as more often than not that is all they are rumours. Or what you think will happen, doesn't and instead something else does, but you were so devoted or cared so much for the other thing, that when it didn't go your way you went into a bit of a depressive state.
It's not Diablo's time, yet.
While I won't lie by saying I don't want Baldur's Gate III, which by all means I do, I think I might want Diablo III just a bit more.
BGIII has the potential to be awesome, but since Bioware essentually sold off the rights to BG to the highest bidder (which I think was Atari who then sold it to Obsidian), I don't know what will happen with the series, more lamo console games I'd imagine.
Well evn though i love lemon, it is a sour hit, i just cant imagine sucking on it for long period of time is good. But really nothing can describe my hate for warcraft.
Now on topic, Though this rumor is probably one of the more hopefull ones, thoguh i still wouldnt get my hopes high, i mean we've seen what blizzard can do to you.
We'll be back soon!
http://www.blizzard.com/us/maintenance.htm
well i think they are prepareing the D3 site and links
But when that happened, only the online store was down for maintenance, not every site. So that makes me think that its nothing important, it could just be security stuff that they are putting on all their sites.
I'm not suggesting PCAction and/or PurePanDEMONium have accessed info to Diablo and/or a secret title, however, this "leaked" info with regards to: "we can't comment any further on this topic", often suggests, that "w/e" they have, holds to be true indeed.
The last game that Blizzard Entertainment released was World of Warcraft back on November 23, 2004. I'm excluding The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, as their both expansions, and although new content, isn't necessarily a new game.
It's been "4" years since a new game arrived. Blizzard's been known for their quality vs. quantity. What could they be developing? With the recent Activision merger, I'd be willing to put down $2,000 on Boardwalk, and bet it'll be arriving this year.
Have you unlocked the bonus COW level? Or has "There is no COW level" held steadfast and true?
One thing is for certain: all this game player has to say is: "Moo!" In COW tongue that means: "we don't comment on rumors or speculations"
Got Milk? Hehe
