Iam 19, u? and yeah iam gonna totally kill u so yeah....uhmmm but ne way we should meet up...i think i have some friends that are interested in going to so this will be uber chill
"Ohhh ohh!!! SC2 was announced at WWI, so its clear Blizzard only announces games at WWI events." Um, no, that's stupid.
As for the announcing D3 at WWI to sell Blizzcon tickets is completely off the wall as well. Blizzard has never had an extra Blizzcon tickets sitting around. They have always sold out and I'm sure they will again regardeless of what happens at WWI.
WWI is for competition and should be left that way. If they plan to make an announcement, they should make it at Blizzcon where they will have more time to show it, explain it and clear any questions up.
Anyway it's strange Blizzard is not making so much noise about the upcoming events, as far as I remember from 07, we were told that an announcement was to be made at WWI, something that hasn't happened yet. I wonder if they're actually playing with our expectations and will just throw it at us on the day, or if there is gonna be a mention of an announcement at the next GDC...
You seem to be missing the point here. They could easily just announce it at the WWI and then "explain it and clear any questions" at the BlizzCon, which would only be 3 months after it. I'm not saying that the third installment will happen at the WWI, but that makes it more sensible than just at the BlizzCon, which has never been used to announce a game. You might pass off the anniversary thing, as well as the site acquirements, as redundant and hopeful bias, but the timing is just too perfect.
actually i wouldn't be that disappointed....
That was never the argument. The argument is that it is more likely that they will announce it at the WWI, for the simple, but obscure, facts that it is conspicuously held on the release date of the Diablo games and that it is in Paris. As for an absolute statement, I don't think anyone that has properly thought through the whole scenario has given the situation a definite yes, just said it was very likely.
Glad to see that argument has so much fact in it
I wouldn't also, it's just the idea of how strange it would be, seeing they left it aside for so long... Nostalgic would be the word to describe it.
I believe Magistrate is right, but I want to reinforce that the idea of announcement is just the simple proof the game is being worked on, very different to what Blizzcon is expected to show. At WWI, we're just hoping to have our wishes realised, with everyone saying: "Here's a teaser! But that's all you get from us now, bye!"; but only at Blizzcon we shall see clearly which way it's heading, through actual gameplay and more in-depth explanations.
this one could be subliminal based solely on the fact that if they say "announcement at WWI" everyone will say diablo mmo
if they are quiet people will say oh I guess they aren't planning anything, I'll go focus on blah blah, then bam they announce something and surprise everyone
Hell I don't even care if it is WoW2, I just want a working mmo
There will always be fanatical fans that will be expecting a Diablo sequel/prequel at any Blizzard convention. If they worked like that, we'd never get an announcement
Wrath of the Lich King
Starcraft 2
Diablo 3
That would be neat.
What's the significance of it being in Paris, did I miss something?
Yes - Diablo is played a ton in Europe.. the WWi that will take place in Paris, France will most likely reveil Diablo III.
I've still never seen any hard facts to support this assumption.
That's the presumption, but no one is entirely sure.
Oh yeah Blizzard could follow EA's experience with The Sims: make a best selling game and 500+ expansions for it, as technology improves, just remake the game (and all the expansions, of course) over and over again...
Very true indeed.
And about the Europe thing, it may well be true, but I believe it's impossible to compare the influence of SC in Korea with Diablo anywhere else... and actually to any other game in a portion of the globe...
