Blizzard Establishes "Team 3"
Gamasutra reports that Frank Pearce of Blizzard Entertainment has just confirmed that the company is working hard on another new title... and it's not World of Warcraft or Starcraft II. 40 people are working on Starcraft II and 40 people are working on this secret Team 3 project, so it's definitely another big one. According to Pearce, "Team 3 is working on something really awesome. I can’t give you any hints, but it’s totally awesome."
With Blizzcon '07 coming up this August 3-4, people have high hopes that this mystery game will be unveiled.
Hmmm, Team 3... Diablo 3... could it be? Join our discussion!
Blasphemy!!! I hate WoW because it is some gay 12 years old's freakish cartoon dream of a game! Fairys? Elves? Gnomes? Dwarves? Midgets? Goblins? -- If I wanna a fairytale, I'll watch a Disney movie thank you very much. (IMO)
D3 isn't going to be pay to play as long as it is run on battle.net and isn't an MMO.
Whatever, Havoc WoW is going to have another expansion out by 2008, and one in 2009, and one in 2010, and one in 2011, and one in 2012, and on and on.....
D3's first expansion will be released in 2011; one year after the release of D3.
Word. but change the 2011 to 3011
oooooooooooook.... Since when do you know the release date of D3???? Although an expansion probably will be released a year after D3 is.
Btw, why did you quote me? I said WoW was getting an Expansion every year... Not D3 (although I think the Diablo series deserves it.)
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know you chatted with Blizzard on a regular basis about their plans for Diablo 3. Battle.net can be revamped with better servers and brought up to date. And what's so wrong about an 8 person channel? I thought it worked fine for D2. I don't want a crowded game where I can't even tell if I just killed a monster or if one of the 20 people next to me did.
What's the sense in calling a game Diablo if it isn't going to have gore and violence? Maybe a better name for a game without blood and violence would be "Fluffy Dreams" or "Cinderella." Some people have to be excluded from the fan base... I believe they want more adults interested in their games because they have... (damn, what's the word i'm looking for?) Oh, yeah MONEY!!!!
I just hate idoitic people and idiotic ideas. And I think that Bllizzard is very close to being those people coming up with those ideas. I know WoW is a hit, but come on... 3/4 of the people haven't completed the game and they're going to add another expansion.... While they have Die hard Diablo fans waiting for a sequel that will also make them money.
lol man ur living in the past i think all u want is an exact replica of diablo 2 with the click to move and everything...if u wnat that so badly make it urself. oh and p.s. i didnt know u yourself chatted with blizzard so you coudl rpove what isaid wrong...interesting?
Cool Pic of D, I woulnder where he got that from.
Yup, I hope they don't change too much with Diablo series, I don't want it morphing into another WoW.
No, I can't say i do chat with Blizzard. I just KNOW that you don't because your 17 years old and your not under an NDA.
Am I getting this right?
And they'll be at blizzcon, presumably to showcase their artistry?
No, wait, these guys are blizzard employees.
Metzen = Chris Metzen?
Ok, yes, definitively these guys are Blizzard artists with a personal portfolio page here. Check out their galleries - they are downright awesome to be frank.
So conclusively, sons of the storm are a group of artists from Blizzard, if you note some of their work has even recently been featured on the Blizz site (the new SC stuff e.g. Protoss Zealot) so it doesn't surprise me at all that this artist created that Diablo head for the new banner.
It also inspires me to think that these are some of the artists on the creative development team for the new Diablo title.
If you also check the galleries under the Diablo sections (at the end for all the artsits) you'll notice some of the artwork from the game manuals, meaning if these guys are still Blizz employees they still have part of the Diablo IP and could be a part of the process.
Just more excitement for me
You do that. While your at the hospital in a coma, we will all be celebrating the announcement of Diablo 3.
