Blizzard Establishes "Team 3"
Gamasutra reports that Frank Pearce of Blizzard Entertainment has just confirmed that the company is working hard on another new title... and it's not World of Warcraft or Starcraft II. 40 people are working on Starcraft II and 40 people are working on this secret Team 3 project, so it's definitely another big one. According to Pearce, "Team 3 is working on something really awesome. I can’t give you any hints, but it’s totally awesome."
With Blizzcon '07 coming up this August 3-4, people have high hopes that this mystery game will be unveiled.
Hmmm, Team 3... Diablo 3... could it be? Join our discussion!
I think I huffed all my inhaler away days ago...
Hahaha im not being an ass for some reason i just wanted to do that.. i may be a nerd.. but i am a cool nerd and if there are any people in here who are the steriotipical nerd.. i salute you!
Back on topic... Little Boy will you please post the countdown
It's obvious NeciFix was joking. You must have some serious persecution issues
OT I'm not so confident of a D3 announce, nor even any kind of teaser, at BlizzCon 07.
They really built up the announcement for Starcraft 2 though. They build up the WoW expansions too. I can't think of a game they haven't tried to generate some hype before hand. I mean, Blizzard haven't even said they are going to announce anything new at Blizzcon; the nearest we have is a beta key to an "unannounced game".
We all know D3 is coming one day, just nothing specifically points to Blizzcon. Other than a great deal of hope.
Good pickup on that diablo chaos link
I know that I can't possibly be the only one who doesn't notice that it says the Event ends at 10pm, and Lv70Tauren ends their concert at 9:30.. There is a visible 30 minute gap where nothing is announced at the very, very end of the convention..
these past two weeks have been hell...
30 minutes to get out? At 10pm it says "Venue Closed" not "Event Ends". Surely they have to allow for people to leave after the concert ends and before they close the venue.
Nearly
Ok, if I'm just dreaming that someone asked it's no big deal, but I just read over at G4 that they will be covering the event. I'm not 100% certain it's going to be like a marathon thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were broadcasting some spots from the floor and whatnot.

Warcraft III was released on 2002
Warcraft III expansion was released in 2003
World of Warcraft was released in 2004
WoW Expansion (The Burning Crusade) was released in Jan. 2007
Now Blizzard is going to announce another WoW expansion this year for release in 2008.
Starcraft 2 is expected to be released in 2008
I doubt they will release D3 in 2008....
Why would they want to release 3 games in one year? ...Unless they release D3 in 2007! ;-)
Official Blizzcon Countdown Timer:

I have now spent the last four days of work reading this forum in my spare minutes. I have finally completed through page 100 and as I have sat through 100 pages of the nonsense that has gone on including the trivia game, LittleBoy's profound opinion on why Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a good thing as well as his extreme prejudice against koreans who play WoW, and of course all of the different theories of what this Team 3 project is and why it must be that, I have dedicated a fair amount of my time to this forum and am also like all of you hoping desperately for the announcement that Diablo III be on its way, I thought it acceptable that I occupied a moment of time and space in this forum. I think all of you quite quirky, except Blah who I just think is hysterical, and want to say I have enjoyed hearing your opinions on why WoW sucks and Diablo is the greatest Blizzard enterprise. That being said while I too wish to remain optimistic it seems to me now more so then when I first began reading the forum that this so called announcement has a better chance of leaving us weeping for sadness than joy. While I do agree that there have been many hints that may tease us into believing that there is a new Diablo game on the way I do also believe that each of these hints may easily be refuted. First of all the team 3 Diablo 3 is not a hint so much a coincidence it shed no light on the possibility of there being a correlation and therefore an upcoming Diablo game. Secondly, the fact that Richard A. Knaak said he was not writing about a "dead world" could simply be a typical author's arrogance that he and not blizzard is creating the important stories of the qorld and his work should therefore be considered the important part of the world. Thirdly it seems to me that Blizzard, being a profitable gaming developer, seeks only t make a profit and not to please its fans. Lets be honest it doesnt care how we feel about WoW because WoW has enough dead beat losers living their lives on it to make it a billion dollars every year, hence every year Blizzard will produce another exp pack to keep the billion flowing into their greedy pockets. The job offerings though interesting are still misleading and circumstantial, there is no definite proof that this means Diablo 3 is in production they may be hiring staff for a project similar to D3 that will be a new franchise and therefore they use Diablo's name to draw future employees interests. Now Im not saying there wont be a Diablo 3,I am not even saying it wont be announced at BlizzCon, Im only saying, friends, don't put all your hope into this one little convention. If there is no D3 on the way now, it certainly does not mean that there never will be, and if there never is going to be, there will be another great hack and slash game for us to sink our teeth into someday whether it be made by Blizzard or not. I am now a dedicated member of this forum and website and intend to post regularly here, but i promise it will never be this long again. Thank you for your time and may the day once again come when a mysterious outlander may save the world from the likes of the three brothers of destruction.

Little Boy and Fat Man were a "good thing" for what had to be done to end WWII.
Its simple math really:
Invasion of Kyushu (basically mainland Japan) would have cost an estimated 1,000,000 American deaths and injuries + the number of Japanese that would have been killed trying to suppress the invasion Lets say (2,000,000) (This number is off the top of my head) = 3,000,000 Dead and injured And that would just be for the battle of Kyushu, who knows if the Japanese would have surrendered after that onslaught.
Little Boy (about 140,000 deaths [including the deaths attributed to radiation sickness]) + Fat man (about 72,000 deaths and injuries [including the deaths attributed to radiation sickness]) = 212,000 (approx.) Japanese deaths and injuries. Plus, the Japanese surrendered.
Lets weigh it, shall we? 3,000,000 dead and injured or 212,000 dead and injured.
THE LATTER SEEMS A LITTLE BETTER NUMBER THAN DOES THE FIRST, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING NO AMERICAN LIVES WERE LOST IN THE BOMBINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know about you, but Little Boy and Fat Man were the lesser evils and they got the job done.
Show some respect to the technology that saved your grandady's life or maybe even your father's life!
P.s. I don't have much of a prejudice against South Koreans, but nobody will be spared when I begin to rant (not even you).
Blizzard has announced some of the items that will be in the goody bag at Blizzcon.
This is what I found to be somewhat significant to our cause.
Beta Key
In addition to giving you the opportunity to become a terror from the deep, the goody bag you receive will also contain an access code for an upcoming Blizzard beta test. Enter the code on our website and and sign up to be contacted when the upcoming beta test is ready for you to join. While beta tests give us a chance to fine-tune our work, they also allow participants to try out and give feedback on a Blizzard title before it becomes available to the general public.
To see the whole list click here.
Other Goody Bag Items...
The BlizzCon goody bag will be brimming with other souvenir items from Blizzard and our partners ranging from practical (such as Blizzard coasters to keep your desk and gaming area clean), to decorative (such as a Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft button set), to... well, we've got to leave some surprises for you!
We look forward to seeing you at the show!
