Blizzard Confirms New Product Next Month!
"It took a good day of calls and emails, but Blizzard just got back to us about the rumor floating around that Starcraft 2 will be announced next month during their World Wide Invitation in Seoul, South Korea.
According to a Korean website, StarCraft 2 is being developed in 3D with a new race and lots of changes for existing units. The site went on to say that additional details would be revealed during Blizzard's WWI on May 19th in Seoul.
When reached for comment today this was Blizzard's official response:
We do intend to announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational next month in Korea, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and interest in getting an advance look at what that will be, but players will have to wait until May 19th to find out more. Also, we have a very strong connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have anything new to announce in that regard at present.
So that's a yes on a StarCraft 2, eventually, and a yes to a product announcement next month. The only question now is are they one in the same. " -Brian Crecente, from Kotaku.
So what do you guys think? A lot of people still believe it's gonna be Starcraft (which would be fine too because, honestly, who wouldn't love to see that game revisited just as much as Diablo?) but after a statement like that, I'm thinking it's gonna either be an announcement for Diablo 3 or a completely new Blizzard title. If it's not a Diablo or Starcraft game, I'm putting my money on TacoCraft.
Alright, let the speculation begin! May 19th simply cannot come soon enough.

For the most part, you are correct, but someones gotta be the bigger man and just stop it alltogether.
So start things off again with this question: Are you excited for next weeks annoucement? Or will it be a disappointment?

Some of you may already know that at Blizzard's WWI event in Korea next week, they plan to make a major announcement. While we don't know exactly what that is, we have been tipped off by numerous connected people it will be StarCraft 2. We had another tip-off yesterday from a source close to Vivendi, who wishes to remain anonymous, that Diablo III is still in development. As with all rumours you need to take them with a pinch of salt but wouldn't it be nice to finally hear some news on a new Diablo title
Other rumours surrounding this WWI event announcement include World of Starcraft, another MMO from the Blizzard team. Looks like we'll have to wait until the 19th of May to find out more. Oh! We will be heading to the WWI in Korea so we'll be sure to report back with our findings.
doenst sound like, while hundreds of starcraft, and warcraft fans are playing tournaments, that theyre going to announce a new diablo game =[
it's so great !!!!!
Although the chance of question mark being sc2 is so high now ...
yeah it seems to be focused on warcraft
looks like they already got someone for hire...
and he made that new homepage in a matter of a day?
amazing...
unless it wasnt some new guy.
*edit*

And the 8 ball says.. handheld WC4.
So you're stating that you are on a low level? Jeez. Someone lacks self-confidence.
Like I said, I simply made the thread because it was suggested to me. I don't really care what the outcome is. But yes, let's put this to rest.
Woah. Don't question my intelligence. Otherwise, you'll have another verbal asswhooping on your hands. And just leave me out of your argument. Speaking of people who are too eager, there's no reason to argue with Aibo anymore. Put it to rest.
Hmm, I still have great doubts about another Warcraft. It would mean that Blizzard is completely neglecting their other franchises, which each have made huge sums of money and have broken sales records.
But, a WC4 could have potential on something like the DS. I stress could. You could have the touchscreen be the command menu. And when you do something like select a building to create, the touch screen turns into a grid map of the landscape and you drag and tap where you want the building to be.
I don't really understand why they're doing this timeline thing on your index, but I doubt if it pertains to the new product. I still have my money on starcraft and apparantly, so does the majority of the Blizzard fans. It would be a massive letdown not to announce a starcraft-related product.
idk i was reading it in a magazine
the touchpad screen would be the underground iew along with the rci zoning.
I remember them doing something like this before WoW came out, however there was no end result. Or was it after WoW? I forget.
*so excited*
I kinda doubt they will make anything handheld besides cell phone games. As far as I can tell, they don't seem to be hiring any other programmers.
