So basically, you are defending Pay-2-Win shamelessly? I like games that can be won with skill, not a credit card.

You are a terrible human being and you ought to be ashamed for posting such trollbait.

The game isn't that complicated to learn, at least. The best thing you can do right now is just play through the game and have fun. Try out different skill and rune combinations as you unlock them, and try to learn what the various affixes (the +something lines on your gear) are and how they affect you characters. Try out more than one character class; for example, try a ranged class (like wizard or demon hunter) and a melee class (like crusader or monk). By the time you've killed Diablo for the first time, you'll know a whole lot about the game. By the time you reach level 70, you'll know a whole lot more. Personally, I'd stick to solo play (or local co-op with friends) for a while if I were you, then get into the multiplayer at 70 when you've got more experience with the game. It's also good to see the story at least once uninterrupted, and playing through solo helps you do that.

I know that doesn't answer you question about Torment, but gtrop did that above very well, so I thought you might want some other general advice for getting started in the game. It can be overwhelming at first to a new player, but just try to read all the in-game tooltips that you can and you'll pick it up in no time. Welcome to Sanctuary!
OP, what he is really saying is read the forums for the only T6 viable build per class and grind your ass off until you get an entire 6 piece set.

This has been happening to me all day. The Greater Rift lobby is designed for doing Greater rifts. If you want to play Stash mode go to the bounty lobby. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Diablo 2 runes were replaced with crafting.

At this stage in the game crafting is only good for achievements.

posted a message on Blizzard will lose their most experienced players and support base.
I want a DH T6 option that does not require a full Marauder's set. A more active playstyle that isn't placing sentries and running away is all I ask for in the next patch.

    Quote from Pietrak
I find people who want a Vitality based class incredibly naive.

The game works like this: in order to get damage you need a lot of your main stat, in order to get survivability you need a lot of vitality.
A class with Vit-mainstat would virtually have a bonus primary affix on every item (when compared to other classes) just because the class wouldn't need a vit/mainstat combo on most of the items.
Other main stats can be buffed to give incentive to use them. Diablo 3 will never have balanced classes. It's not like we will ever get Arena PVP so I fail to see the problem.

I want a Vitality based class. Sacrificing health to deal extra damage would be awesome.

Greater rifts are sure lacking in content compared to normal ones. Doesn't the adjective greater imply adding more instead of taking things out?

posted a message on Diablofans patch 2.1 countdown?
With the recent DDOS attack and extremely long queues that are a Blizzard standard when a patch hits, I don't expect to be able to play this until late tomorrow.

posted a message on Anyone moving to Console?
I remember enjoying the console version of vanilla D3 way more than the PC but the devs rarely supported the game through patches including additional content. I expect the same treatment for Ultimate Evil. But maybe it's a good time killer until 2.1 goes live.

I don't think D3V would've been such a mess if they had listened to the players in the first place.
They listened to the players - always. Diablo 3 started as a mix between what the developers envisioned to create (a hack'n'slay game that succeeds Diablo 2; not Diablo 2.1 and not a Diablo MMO) and what players asked for (a Diablo 2 successor with more freedom and more options for trading, but no exploits and item duping). Example: in the beginning and long into D3V the majority of players who mentioned feedback (i.e., those that Blizzard was able to listen to) supported the AH (there were plenty of polls about every few months on all forums). Only mid-2013 when the end of the AH was announced (actually about a year ago, I still remember how sudden the announcement came, out of nowhere) the majority of players had become so sick of it that they supported an AH removal.

So... in hindsight, it always looks like "we knew it all from the beginning and the devs were always wrong". Which is not true.

I remember though that you did not belong to this "pro AH majority", ever... so you can claim some prophetical abilities for yourself. But not for the majority of the community, and that's who Blizzard listened to. ;-)
Oh sure they listened to players, like when they added the auction house? Get real. Ever since Craptivision bought Blizzard all of their games have been casualized and mass produced. D3 vanilla was built from the ground up to appear on consoles. PC users got shafted and basically beta tested the console version. Loot 2.0 did nothing to improve the game. 99.9% of all legendary and set items still suck. Those "smart drops" they talk about sure give crappy loot. There is no trading allowed and everything is BOA. Blizzard should make every set and legendary item craftable or bring back trading.

posted a message on Discussion: Are the devs out of touch?
Taken from the 2.1 philosophy patch notes:

    "Expand class diversity

    • This is a design goal for us, and we've touched a little on it (see below). However, we want each class performing similarly and with fewer outliers before we introduce new play styles."
There is no such thing as class diversity in Diablo 3. The devs are clearly delusional.

I don't think M6 should be changed. Instead I want other sets that have equally awesome benefits such as one that has a significant increase to hatred regen/maximum hatred.
