posted a message on 2hand WW barb speed build, 80+m/hour 6-7min clears
I find this build much better than standard ww build if you have mediocre gear as you can easily hit 100k dps with a decent skorn, only problem arise if your defense is very low, in that case i greatly suggest using rend and life steal, it helps a LOT with elites.

Had difficulty with fury generation at the begging, then got better at using charge and never had it again.

Don't get a skorn with LS, way too expensive, get it with the belt. Thanks for the build!

with 1.05 and the "player level" system i have a feeling we might go back to pre 1.03 barbarian style oof play if we want to be able to complete or slowly farm the latter levels of the game.

For this reason i decided to get back my old defensive gear and also to stock up on some legendaries before they get crazy expensive.

This led to an interesting finding, you can have 2 justice lanterns equipped, as long as one is legacy and the other one is 1.04!

I managed to also grab a 34% stromshield with life % (crazy how much cheaper they are than in pre 1.03) and just for lulz also a doomsbringer with decent dps.

Now I have 71% block chance, isnt that OP??? have to admit my dps has fallen to about 25k, but i rememebr running with less than 12k dps in prepatch times...

All this assuming that they will also ramp up damage and not only life of mobs in latter difficulties. hopefully they will not add more affixes (current 4) to elites

Can you link your battlenet profile...

I like to check out your gear .. Might try to model my barb like yours.

    Thanks

unluckily i play in asian server so my profile is in chinese/korean and i dont have 10 posts yet.

But overall my barb is simple, uniques i mentioned above, plus crit on every allowable slot and try to get as much as vit, life%, rest all. Str is more secondary, nice to have but dont over pay for it.

posted a message on [suggestion] economy item dump system
I posted this in the official forums and wanted to share this idea:

As we can probably agree the current trend in Diablo is that it is getting way too difficult to find decent items that are AH worthy on your average run while item price disparity is becoming huge.

This has the negative effect of detracting from the enjoyment of this game as the game is designed around hte loot fest.

I came up with this idea which might have been suggested before but could not find it anywhere on my searches:

A soft item bind system that affects when players equip items to their character or account which makes the item untradable in the AH.

This bind can easily be removed from an NPC for a fee (or no fee) but it will have the effect of diminishing every stat on the item by a small value, lets say 5% or 10%

    What this causes is:

    - Items in the game will slowly lose value the more they get traded, thus this will lessen speculation and arbitrary inflation

    - The supply of good items will be replenished with newly found items, rather than just increasing the pool of current items and making finding "good" items more and more difficult

    - It will not have negative effects on the first person who found the item

I know item binding is a delicate topic but as of now we can agree that the current system is not sustainable in the long run, a day will come when the chance of finding a sellable item is so slim that it will be pointless to farm at all.

    What do you people think?

he has low dps and over 900 RA, i dont see much if any difference to the "traditional" gearing, he obviously has a LOT of hp but that's mostly because he has great gear and other who have gear like that have less hp but more dps

overall its still a tank build, nothing more, nothing less

I think the main argument is not what his gear is now at, but the cost of acquiring gear for the same result.

I went to the standard Res>Vit>Sr> route and items on AH are very expensive, also because you will almost need legendaries to be even viable in act 3.

Doing the EHP route I achieved better results without having to buy legendaries, and spent about tenth of the money that people suggest in most forums.

maybe im dumb but i still dont get the big difference in items that he is picking

you say expensive route is RA>vit>str, his route is vit>RA? or what?

    >.<

edit: any item that has high +vit and high all resists is going to cost A LOT, obviously less than the ones that have an extra stat such as strength but its still not cheap

only items that are VERY expensive are string of ears, stormshield (or any high block % shield for that matter) and obviously good 1 hander with LoH

Most items with over 60 res and vitality are also very expensive, for example a 60 res and 100 vitality will be much more expensive than a 30 res 150 vit, because people value res over vitality.

However the latter item will most likely give much higher EHP than the first one as most people have been stacking resistance.

His route is not vit>life% or whatever, his route is using the calculator and maximising EHP, as the benefit of each point of res, vit or life% changes relative to the value of your other items

posted a message on A New guide in gearing up barbarians (especially for act 2 to 3) for CHEAP(er)
    Hi Everyone,

I am writing this after I came by this post on the official forums

    http://us.battle.net...opic/5575477138 his setup
http://us.battle.net...38008492?page=1 his reasoning behind his choice of gear (chec the posts made by that user)

This post opened my eyes on how to gear my barb and wanted to give it a bit more spotlight, as i think a lot of information i have found in most forums are very misleading towards barb setups for survival.

Before this I was doing the standard Tank barb setups:

About 40k life, resistances in the 900s, high block shield (29%), 650 lph amulet and bought my first helm of command with a socket. Most items i had were high res (55+) and as much vitality as i could find.

This left me with the problem of having around 5000 dps even with my 950 dps weapon.

I could farm act 2 (expect some crazy packs) and do Belial consistently enough. However act 3 was the brick wall everyone has been talking about.

Yesterday i took the decision to follow the guide and try to maximise EHP rather than with arbitrary rules such as "at least 800 resistance for act 3" or "need stormshield for act3"

I used the EHP calculator extensively on each purchase, maximising EHP.

The outcome was ridiculous, i was able to reach about 1,3 million EHP on the calculator.
The best part being that each item is MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper on the AH than the standard 50+ res gears with VIT and cheap enough that i can EVEN get a significat amount of strengh on most pieces!

My DPS is topping 12,000 and act 2 has become a joke with my high EHP. I can do about 60-70% of the packs in act 3 thus can slowly farm sieagebreaker as well.

All considering i am selling my old high res gear and buying mid res (30-50) with VIT, STR and possibly life%, that give me higher EHP and DPS and cost around a 1/3 of the gear i am selling.

Right now i am sitting at a spot that my next upgrades will be much more expensive, as my Vit is getting very high and armor and res is starting to give more EHP to me (and we all know Res gear are a magnitude more expensive than other gear). However my DPS is higher than anything i could have immagined not long ago.

People having problem for gearing for act 2 and act 3 should really read that post.

Great thanks for the OP, he deserves more spotlight!\

    Edit:

I have yet to embrace the OP's usage of cleave, i will give it a go later.

I did not put AH prices in the post because i play in Asia, as each AH has different prices for items.

I am considering experimenting with 2h, as shield block mitigation loses lots of its value as my res and armor are not that high.
