The patch is just called 2.4.1 (instead of 2.5) because it won't have any major features (at least doesn't look like it). But it will NOT drop mid-season.
It's really interesting that they do this for 2.4.1 mid-season, they never really cared about OP metas before or were too afraid of leadboard meddling.
Even with the announced changes to the sets I don't see a class being able to compete with 2.4 ET wiz, which makes the leaderboard pretty much set in stone once the patch hits live.
What really would speed up ubers and make them more enjoyable would be to replace the old Maghda encounter with the new one. You spend more time waiting for her shield to fade than it takes to kill all other bosses (including running there) together.
Oh, and (also applies to normal rifts) I don't know why they don't add new difficulty levels, since TX really offers no challenge anymore, which is especially obvious when fighting "uber" bosses.
Thank you for clearing that up, I indeed only was aware of the wiz and crusader leaderboards where I could not even look up such a "low" grift, so I assumed for other classes too that a level 75 grift is a cakewalk with enough paragon and decent gear, and you just needed the right farming spec.
That a (fast) 77 clear would give you a place in the leaderboards - even in the top 100 - for some classes comes as a surprise to me, as I am used to being pulled through those rifts by my friends.
Thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure if you understood my problem.
I can easily do 77 with my wizzard - I never solo pushed -, and I would love to do quick clears with it. But I am not aware of a spec that can repeatedly do that. Arcane Orbit build clearly lacks the mobility of Aether walker and I am not aware of how to integrate it into the build without sacrificing much damage or toughness. And solo twister build is fine concerning mobility, but to make stacking worthwhile you need the right density, and some rift bosses really make you want to jump into your screen and strangle them yourself when they try everything to avoid your ET stack,
When I need 10 minutes or more per rift it's not efficient farming, then it's better to do quick 8x 4player runs.
So you say WD might be a possible alternative. Which build would you propose for it?
Or - and this is also a valid answer - what I want is not possible unless switching to crusader/barb and gearing them accordingly.
I am looking for a class/spec that is capable of efficiently solo farm ~60-75GR to level up new gems. Right in the season I have both well equipped wizzard and dh and we farm 9x rifts in our group. But upgrading gems there from ~50-60 gets too long and/or is simply too expensive.
I have no problem quickly farming GR up to ~60 with my wizzard (blade or flashfire spec), but then I've reached the defense capabilities of the TR set, and would have to trade much damage for more toughness (pe Unity for CoE) that would lower the farming speed drastically. Or go to twister/arcane orbit build which also is not very fun or quick for farming runs, and therefore not very efficient.
I realize crusader or barb would both be a good choice, but I have zero strength gear in my stash (and not really enough space there to gather it).
So that means I am looking for a wiz/dh/monk/wd spec that is good at farming at those levels - preferably a wiz/dh spec I am not yet aware of as I would not have to level and equip another class, but I don't think there is one.
8 Trillion (=8,000,000M) seems indeed rather unlikely to me for an ET wizzard as a single hit (it hits every second) unless you were able to clear the rift in 2 minutes and spam single twisters for the rest of the time to get stricken stacks up.
Without power shrine my highest crit I noticed (in a 96 GR) was 78 billion (78,000M). While I am sure that people in the 106 rifts will do much more damage, hundred times as much does not look very credible to me.
First important question - how did you get your legendary gems legal way to level 100 - if i remember correctly there's literally no1 with gems on PC with level over 100 - if you achieved it with hacks i see absolutely no problem...
What? Looked into the ladder lately?
But btt, while probably an oversight by Blizzard caused by capping of the gems as you already assumed, the ladders of console do not compete with the ladders of PC. So you still are on a fair ground, where everybody gets the equal chances.
And while I agree that it somehow takes away the motivation of trying higher rifts, thanks to augmentation farming still has a motivating factor. I don't think there is much to do except informing Blizzard, which you already have done, and hope they consider changing the caps on console.
Hello. I want to share some thoughts on this subject.
First off; Excellent video Fiftyfan.
From my experience you can play up to around 80ish with ancient gear and around p800-1000ish. Then with augmented 80ish gems in a bit more than half your gear you can play gr85+ish. With good use of the twisters shown in the video you can more or less easily add at least another 5 levels to what one are doing. It is essential for every good group to use this IMO. It requiers a lot of synergy between players or to use skype\etcetra to make it smooth in use. And its pretty hard to pull off in the start.
I completely agree with your numbers and conclusions
Immortality should be baseline, everything else is pointless.
And I also like the idea that they collect things (for example death breath), but how would that work? How do they give them to you? A system like this only works with abstract numbers (like gold) where there are no items connected.
I am also wondering why there is no unique item that allows you to have for example all three followers up, or even have your follower(s) when in a group (only giving their benefits to you).
Just curious, what is the expectation time wise to complete your part of a bounty if you are in a typical group?
Sorry, I mainly meant people who are idling in cities and also not canceling quick enough if someone wants to start a boss is a fairly quick way to get kicked. Also chain dying is a safe way to get booted.
Nobody really cares how long you need for a bounty - unless it takes suspisiously long (for example next act is complete and everyone waits for you to complete yours to turn in the bonus act)

My list (mostly UI changes):
* Higher normal rift difficulties (simply implemenent until TC, the people will decide themselves what difficulty they want to play in)
* Auto pickup death breath and legendaries
* Option to get legendaries you never picked up sent to you by mail (wow postmaster says hello)
* Add a "salvage all non-ancient legendaries" button at the blacksmith
* Being able to set a class you want to gamble items for (or even for what class items should drop)
* "Auto-salvage" setting at Kadala - instead of blues, yellows or non-ancients directly get crafting mats
* Stash for every class
* Fulltext search in the stash/inventory

Hi,
except simply getting better items three things will improve your survivability quite a bunch:
1. you do not have any kind of shield, so Ashnaggars bracers are a waste. Get Ancient Parthan Defenders.
2. use Unity instead of CoE (and obviously give one to your follower, too)
3. as long as you have no problem killing mobs, replace pain enhancer with esoteric alteration.
You can also replace mantle of channeling with aquila in your cube.

With fragment of destiny you can go blades (http://www.diablofans.com/builds/71346-2-4-blades-speed-grift-50-60-gem-upgrades).
So I would recommend farming DB on your hunter or by being carried until you get Woh or fod from the cube, and then chose your spec accordingly.
