posted a message on Affix ratings for Monks
i've been thinking about something like this since i started playing the game, although you seem to be taking it a step further with the weight of a certain stat above another for each class. just being able to know the range each stat has on each peice of gear with ease would be really helpful and the common sense of how useful the combination of affixes are for whatever class it would benefit more from would make the decision between AH and vendoring very very easy.

Some thoughts though, certain stats are only viewed as a whole from level 1-60, such as magic and gold find, which are only used to my knowledge at level 60. Therefore knowing that an amulet has the maximum 20% gold find for a ilevel 40 amulet wouldn't be very useful when the only people that would be buying it would be level 60 and therefore have all the way up to 40%.

Theres also the problem of when an item has 2 affixes that share stats (i think this is only relevant for primary stats), how would the tool know the difference?

also as luchs006 theres a HUGE array of different builds that focus on different stats for each and every class and i don't know that a community such as this could agree on stat weighing.

I definately think this is a much needed tool and wish you luck though.

it was my understanding that dps wasn't of any matter and 10k was sufficient for act 2.
resist rares are all in the millions, and each of these peices are all 200-400k each.
i was in alot different gear before i realised it wasn't cutting it and decided to focus on resist all.
is the colour of the gear really that important? i realise rare gear has more affixes therefore the potential for better stats but is magic gear really to be shunned? i've read up on people who say 10k damage, 40k hp, 1k dex and 500-700ish resist is all they used to get through act 2 and i have all of this.
the only way i've been able to make money is gold find runs or butcher inferno runs and the gear that drops from that is worth at most 20k compared to the way better gear that people are flooding the market with from farming act 2/3?

EDIT: i guess i could focus less on gear with +75-80 resist all and get some decent rares with +50 resist all and nice stats, but in this case i would need to have resist all gear on absolutely every peice of gear to get anywhere? is this a better method of gearing

EDIT 2: just to clarify, i know this gear is shit but my goal is to get to a decent point where i can farm drops that will actually sell for somewhat of a decent price, then completely regear myself for act 3 and beyond.

    566 all resistance
    300 life on hit
4900 armour unbuffed (with enchantress, evasion mantra and keen eye rune this is boosted to 9100 armour)
    11.5k damage
    1.61 damage per second
0% movement speed, 5% crit chance and 50% crit damage

the build im using is http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#bYgihX!YXZ!ZYabac

and finally what im wearing incase anything in particular you think needs to be desperately replaced

i've gone with alot resist all because i thought in the long run i would benefit more by using the resolve passive rather than one with anything.

    thanks all
