I came up with my own version of this build independently, based on a pretty low budget:
Thoughts on my specific version:
- This version uses a 2H to let you get the necessary amounts of Life Steal without breaking the bank
- Based on this, Cleave becomes much more attractive, since Life Steal isn't nerfed for Cleave in the same way LoH is; hit three enemies, get 3x the life
- With Life Steal, Earthquake is surprisingly viable as a defensive cooldown, particularly if you fire off WoTB w/Insanity immediately before. Standing in the middle of your own EQ will usually return life fast enough that you can trade blows with anything without your life dropping at all
- Weapon Master can be overrated; using a 2H means that you need all the defense you can get, and Passive Skills are the way to do it.
- Rage is a constant issue with this version, so you'll want to use Leap and War Cry whenever possible to maintain high Rage levels
Even with mediocre gear, I can handle anything MP1 throws at me. I'll likely switch to MP2 tonight to continue farming, but might be able to do MP3 if I were careful.

congrats to those that exploited broken mechanics before they were fixed to get through inferno and now crap on us that are struggling.
I suppose I can't speak for anyone else, but my "exploit" was farming Hell Act 4 for a week.
If content is constantly killing you, you need to farm for gear in the places that don't constantly kill you.

D2 was released before warcraft 3, D2 being released in 2000 and wc3 in 2002 and TFT in 2003!Quote from iamlampard
no..those skills existed in warcraft...no point pointing those..
wow influence at max is the boss fight.(in d3)....enrage timer for one.
They wouldn't have just pulled things from Warcraft when making WoW, a lot of it would have come from Diablo too considering Diablo is centered around your hero and not an army like wc3.
Didn't WoW use the actual Diablo 1 item affixes back in vanilla? Like, "blah blah Of The Whale" would have extra Stamina?

OP, I don't think you understand what "truth" means.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
For instance, if someone makes a thing up in their head, that's different from truth. Why that is such a foreign concept to Internet People is beyond me.

Hey, guys?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
...I think we're doing it wrong.
I was farming Act 1 as usual in public play, doing Warden/Butcher runs, and starting to get a little frustrated by the quantity and quality of drops. Then I joined a game that had just completed the Skeleton King and was just wandering around doing all the events and side dungeons, and between the elites and champ packs we were seeing tons of yellows drop once we hit 5 NV (Resplendent Chest drops were awful, though). It's almost as if they nerfed the spawn rates in boss dungeons, but not side ones.
This, though, is based off of an extensive sample size of one play session.
Is anyone else seeing something similar? Or was this just a single fluky session?

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Gabriel_LoganThose of us who played the game as it was designed to be played, cannot do such things as farming A1-A2 is completely non-profitable, as the richest players control the market entirely, and inflate the gold prices accordingly.
I know its a minor detail in your argument, but this is something people bring up a lot that irks me. Inflation means that the things you sell on the AH are worth more, too.
If you're going to gear up through the AH, you need to make money through the AH. You don't need to be an AH master to do that, but you do need to learn how to recognize the 250k+ items that drop in A1. Yellow jewelry, stat/vit/resist gear, stuff with IAS (maybe crit instead after the patch), etc.

If you have a well-constructed argument, there is no need to start spouting ill-informed rage because the argument is constructed well? For the most part, I have not seen that rage in all the popular topics I have read since launch. Just well-written and to the point. I am not trying to start a flame war but you stated that it's not true but give no actual reason why. Then the example you provide isn't actually what the popular topics are discussing. I think maybe you should go on the official forums and give them a read.
Sure, people are now shrieking about repair costs instead of farming the areas that don't kill them. I understand that there are issues with the game, but people seem to lack even the most basic problem-solving skills whatsoever.

I think it's great that people have differences of opinion about the game, I just tend to find that most who are not happy with it offer better constructive arguements then those who feel the game is great.
The problem is that many of these well-constructed arguments are simply not true. People believe them because they read a well-constructed argument, then start spouting ill-informed rage, but no matter how much it is repeated it doesn't suddenly become true.
I know this is a stupid example, but I really think it shows exactly what's wrong with the Diablo Community: people insist that Life Steal is complete garbage because someone made a pretty video and explained that Life On Hit was far superior for hits of around 10k damage. Do you know what I never read on any forum anywhere? "What if you do way more damage per hit than that?" People have been shrieking about the lack of build diversity while I was progressing through Act 2 pre-nerf with a 2h Lifesteal barb.
People on the internet say things that aren't true, and they do it all the time. But a well-argued falsehood is still false.

Gamers are very quickly becoming a disgusting self entitled group of man babies.
Becoming, heh. That's adorable.

Dude, this is not a community. It is a pack of hysterical, shrieking jackals filled with endless rage than something in the world might ever go in a way other than the way they would prefer.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
