All members share their game libraries! In effort
to make it easier for the Gunslingers to see who is the most like
themselves in their gaming habits, the Gunslingers homebase now features
the ability for them to create an image-based virtual library of games
they own. More importantly, you can, by a simple press of a button,
signify that this game is the title you are currently playing! This fact
will shared on your profile, on our Games page, and on every single
post you make in our clan forum.
Our Notification System. Did you wish that you
could know when a friend was getting in game even before you boot up
your platform? You can with our clan's new notification system. We have a
special section where, when a person posts that they are about to go
online, everyone (who have opted into the feature) will be notified. Game on!
Retro Sweet Tooth. As a group exclusively for us
gamers long in the tooth, we all also have a sweet tooth for retro
games. That is why, in addition to making it easier to see who is
playing similar to ourselves, we are also building a retro library of
our yesteryear purchases. While not even 24 hours into the project, we
have all NES titles # - C added. It is great fodder for chat about the
games we played while growing up...as we play today's popular game.

After laying down my sleeping little one to type this, it strikes me anew how important it is to be a parent and having a gaming group that truly respects my limited gaming time. There are no guilt trips. There are no in group demotions. Instead, my announcement on mic that I need to log out of game to put on my best parent's hat is always met with an empathic "No worries." That is because our gaming group is compromised of folks who are in the same proverbial boat. In fact, three of our clan leaders have had babies in the last three months. Cigars, er, e-cigarettes all 'round!

June 2015 marks the eight year anniversary of the formation of the Gunslingers clan. Eight years. Wow. What were you even playing eight years ago? Think about that. What was your life like nearly a decade ago? Since 2007, maybe you have had your first child. Maybe your third. Maybe you have gotten married or earned your degree. Maybe you have changed careers and hit the evening lectures at your local college. A lot can change in your life in a eight year span of time, and maybe you don't even feel like you are the same person.
In eight years, the Gunslingers clan has not changed, but it has certainly evolved.
We are all here so we can focus our limited gaming time as a mature, casual experience with like-minded adults. No matter how much our lives change, that gaming need doesn't. So GS* doesn't. From day one and through the predictable future, we do not muddle that goal with banners ads, sponsorships, or site plug-ins that allow third party entities to gather your information and sell it for profit. The Gunslingers exist as an oasis away from typical clan obligations, but the internet has also certainly changed ('evolved' may be too strong of a word), so our status as an oasis has become even more meaningful. We may not be able to be the most sophisticated or slickest entity online, but we are here purely for the love of the venture. No paypal account required. No fine print requiring you to sign away your privacy needed. Take a look around the internet these days. Where else can you find that?
We evolve by incorporating new ideas and new blood on a regular basis. In fact, our present leadership body is a blend of leaders who have helped out the community for years and members who are fresh to the scene. In case you haven't had a chance to meet a leader, they are cupracer92, ironside, Fed Architect, Fynvarrah, Hir3ling, gobi42, GrouchyGran, Wikilectual, LawnGnomer 6, Balki, Merky Water, Sosyc, theL33tness, bdnyy23, Lamporello, mikelaird1, Odin001, Spade115, Dunkaroo69, and (me) McMurphy.
Like playing in-game together, the GS* community is not about rank. GS* Leaders are not moderators or saber rattlers. They are fellow members who are willing to donate their time to help maintain the clan, be there for members' questions, and encourage the process of exchanging gamer tags and having a good time in a past time we all love. I am always including new, fellow members into that element of GS*, and it is determined solely on the willingness to help out. Thank you, all present and past Leaders, for making Gunslingers such a special group.
Of course, the leadership (read: trail guides) could only be set this way because our members are so great. Everyone continues to do their part to welcome new members, send out or accept invites, and introduce fresh ideas to the clan. Thank you. Gunslinger Gaming continues to be an experiment that attracts an incredible level of new members because of all of your communal efforts.
We continue to get more and more fellow adults joining our fold. And there is no sign of slowing down. In fact, we have welcomed over 850 members into the Gunslingers so far in 2015. We are only half way through the year! What do you do when things works out so damn well? How do you proceed? I suggest we do what only can be done after a gamble yields good fortune.

Sometimes, we are met with disbelief when it comes to our claim that we, a gaming group active since 2007, can truly garner an older age of gamers so readily. When we write, "Clan for Adults," what does that mean? We certainly don't beat folks over the head with rules, ever-increasing restrictions during the registration process, or even mind-numbing probation periods. Do you know who needs such unfriendliness? Clans that don't actually have a culture of mature, casual gaming.
The proof is in pudding, as they say. Let's take a snapshot of the birthdays happening right now (April 30th to May 6th, 2015) within the Gunslingers community. In the present time range, there are 41 of our members blowing out candles. The average age of those members is thirty-six. They, like the rest of the Gunslingers, know the demands of parenthood, full time work, mortgages, rent, and other obligations that only a fellow adult can understand.
And we understand how that places time limits to your gaming habits. We know the satisfaction of getting home from work and being able to decompress with a round of video gaming with folks our own age. We know the mellow celebration that is felt when we reach the weekend and get to crack up some brews while sharing some multiplayer hi-jinks with buddies, virtual or otherwise.

I know, I know. It has been a while since I last posted a clan update here. That is because the first month of 2015 has been incredibly active for us! Here are some highlights of the more noteworthy events going on within the Gunslingers frontier.
New Forum! The end of January marked the six year birthday of our clan's own forum, and we have celebrated the occasion by giving it a massive overhaul! We have improved the visual and performance of the forum software. Additionally, our members can now take full advantage of enhanced versions of our own custom flash arcade, member blogs that every member automatically gets and can customize as they wish, make use our Tapatalk support, and grab quicker attention of fellow GSers by using the mention function while posting. A special tip of the hat must be given to GS*Dunkaroo69 for getting the project off the ground and to GS*Sosyc for taking care of many of the core image files. Over 160 New Members in One Month! Our overall clan welcomed over one hundred and sixty fellow mature, casual gamers into our fold during the month of January. Talk about starting the New Year out with a bang! If you were on the fence on whether or not to join us, come and take part in the party! We keep your gaming experience fun, casual, and utterly on your own time table.
Gunslinger Games Awards! During the entire month of January, we hosted our annual tradition of voting on our favorite gaming experiences during 2014. Have you ever watched the results of an awards show and wondered, "Who picked the winners?" Well, we sure did! That is why the most active clan exclusively for adult gamers collectively cast our votes on over a dozen gaming categories. The results will be revealed via podcast and Gunslinger Gazette article at the end of this week!
Episode #4 of Gaming News w/ Fed Architect! Gunslinger leader, Fed Architect, hosts our Youtube video program that briefly condenses current events in gaming and within the GS clan.

2014 is officially over. Being a clan that attracts older gamers from around the world with different backgrounds and additional game interests, we have an annual tradition.
THE GUNSLINGER GAMES AWARDS!
What 2014 games did you enjoy the most? With more than sixteen voting categories for this year's edition, you are invited to make your voice heard every step of the way, regardless if you are a greenhorn Gunslinger member or an veteran one.
Right now, we are at the tail end of the nomination phase of the awards, in which you decide which games even deserve to be voted on. After January 7th, the voting polls are opened based on those results. You have until the 24th to cast your vote. After that, we take the top picks from all the appropriate categories and create the "Game of the Year" poll and have one week to pick which title gets our ultimate tip of the hat.
Let me guess: December is a busy time for you. Family to see. Presents to wrap. Holiday dinners to plan. Counting down the days before you can send the rugrats back off to the classrooms. But this is also the time of the year us older gamers can either get some of the big new releases under the Christmas tree or flash gift cards around town as if they were credit cards in a bad '80s movie.
One of the largest and most active clans exclusively for fellow parents and adults, The Gunslingers, have also got into the holiday spirit. We have decorated our clan's website with holiday cheer, so check it out! Every single page has got a touch of Ol' Saint Nick. Also, we are adding holiday themed games into our own custom arcade! Some of them are even in good taste. This year, our first installation is "Finding Santa." It sounds simple, but it is a lot harder than you may think. It (like the rest of our arcade) is fun to tool around in and aim for the high score when we can't be in game together.

A fantastic milestone just occurred in our clan. As of this week, we, one of the longest running and most active groups for older gamers, became over 10,000 members strong! In the beginning of 2009, we shed our freeware hosted site and built our own. Between then and the present, we have seen over ten thousand fellow mature, casual gamers walk through our virtual saloon doors. Incredible!
The raw numbers aren't what is really important here. What IS important is how active we are and how that level of membership base reflects our seven year+ dedication in providing an oasis for the gamer out there who just wants to kick his/her boots up and share some good times with people his/her own age. To put it into better perspective of just how active we are, we were celebrating our 7,000th member around the same time last year!

Also, we want to give members something extra to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season, so GS*Sophiebean is raffling off a free Steam copy of Super Street Fighter 4: The Arcade Edition. Not a bad game to play on the side when you need a break from this game, right?

This time of year sure goes by fast, doesn't it? It probably has something to do with the fact that so many holidays are shoved into a three month period. It is hard to believe we are already beyond the ten day mark of November! Before we know it, another year of the Gunslingers clan will be over.
So, just how active are we after all these years? It is easy, I suppose, to just look at a total amount of members, but that doesn't actually say anything about how active a clan still is, does it? For example, is a long term clan still getting new members, or is its website just collecting digital cobwebs like an overly proud homeowner refusing to take down his Halloween decorations?
I am happy to report that the Gunslingers clan is still very much active. In just the first ten days of November, we have welcomed over SIXTY-THREE new members into our virtual saloon! Incredible! Thank you all for joining and welcome aboard!
The amount of members is not what is really important here. What is important is what all these members signify. The Gunslingers remains a great, active clan exclusively for all us mature, casual gamers. We don't pay for SEO (search engine placement). We don't run ads or harbor sponsors to boost our numbers. We are old school gamers, so we succeed the old school way: through commitment to our members and mission statement. We say we are for adult gamers, and we mean it. You aren't going to be talking to squeakers among us. We say we are casual gamers, and we meant it. You aren't going to be pressured into taking part in some silly clan war.

Within the Gunslingers clan, we love Halloween. Some of us are going attending costume parties (my wife and I went as a Ghostbuster and the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man), getting the rugrats ready for some trick-or-treating, or building up candy reserves to hand out on Halloween.
These "real life" traditions are being reflected online because the Gunslingers clan is celebrating Halloween all month long in the following ways:
Zombie Week - During the week of Halloween, we are going back and playing some classic co-op, zombie killing/surviving games together. Some of these events will even be streamed live! An event is scheduled every day!
Site Banners - We have swapped out our front page banner and our forum index banner with Halloween themed ones! Clear your brower's cache if they haven't changed for you.
Halloween Forum Avatars - We have a preloaded gallery of Halloween themed avatars that all members are welcome to use. We have even added several "Undead Gunslingers" ones as well!
Halloween Arcade Games - The GS* Forum has a large flash arcade installed into it, and it includes a mighty ghoulish selection of Halloween and zombie games. A recent install: "Agh Zombies!"
Streaming Horror Movies - Somewhat buried within the Gunslinger Gaming site is a collection of streaming, public domain horror movies of the old black-and-white days. If you have a sweet fang for vintage science fiction and horror "classics," you can watch them from the comfort of the Gunslingers Theater! Every movie you load, you will be able to view its original marketing poster, read interesting facts about the film, and chat with your fellow Gunslingers as you watch!
Halloween Smileys - Add some pumpkin spice to your forum posts with our collection of Halloween themed smileys.
Halloween Game Live Streams - Do you stream live gameplay? If you plan on streaming a horror game, give us all a head's up when you plan on doing so. The more time you give us, the more we can collectively promote your Halloween streams!

After laying down my sleeping little one to type this, it strikes me anew how important it is to be a parent and having a gaming group that truly respects my limited gaming time. There are no guilt trips. There are no in group demotions. Instead, my announcement on mic that I need to log out of game to put on my best parent's hat is always met with an empathic "No worries." That is because our gaming group is compromised of folks who are in the same proverbial boat. In fact, three of our clan leaders have had babies in the last three months. Cigars, er, e-cigarettes all 'round!

Dear Gunslingers,
Let's pause.
June 2015 marks the eight year anniversary of the formation of the Gunslingers clan. Eight years. Wow. What were you even playing eight years ago? Think about that. What was your life like nearly a decade ago? Since 2007, maybe you have had your first child. Maybe your third. Maybe you have gotten married or earned your degree. Maybe you have changed careers and hit the evening lectures at your local college. A lot can change in your life in a eight year span of time, and maybe you don't even feel like you are the same person.
In eight years, the Gunslingers clan has not changed, but it has certainly evolved.
We are all here so we can focus our limited gaming time as a mature, casual experience with like-minded adults. No matter how much our lives change, that gaming need doesn't. So GS* doesn't. From day one and through the predictable future, we do not muddle that goal with banners ads, sponsorships, or site plug-ins that allow third party entities to gather your information and sell it for profit. The Gunslingers exist as an oasis away from typical clan obligations, but the internet has also certainly changed ('evolved' may be too strong of a word), so our status as an oasis has become even more meaningful. We may not be able to be the most sophisticated or slickest entity online, but we are here purely for the love of the venture. No paypal account required. No fine print requiring you to sign away your privacy needed. Take a look around the internet these days. Where else can you find that?
We evolve by incorporating new ideas and new blood on a regular basis. In fact, our present leadership body is a blend of leaders who have helped out the community for years and members who are fresh to the scene. In case you haven't had a chance to meet a leader, they are cupracer92, ironside, Fed Architect, Fynvarrah, Hir3ling, gobi42, GrouchyGran, Wikilectual, LawnGnomer 6, Balki, Merky Water, Sosyc, theL33tness, bdnyy23, Lamporello, mikelaird1, Odin001, Spade115, Dunkaroo69, and (me) McMurphy.
Like playing in-game together, the GS* community is not about rank. GS* Leaders are not moderators or saber rattlers. They are fellow members who are willing to donate their time to help maintain the clan, be there for members' questions, and encourage the process of exchanging gamer tags and having a good time in a past time we all love. I am always including new, fellow members into that element of GS*, and it is determined solely on the willingness to help out. Thank you, all present and past Leaders, for making Gunslingers such a special group.
Of course, the leadership (read: trail guides) could only be set this way because our members are so great. Everyone continues to do their part to welcome new members, send out or accept invites, and introduce fresh ideas to the clan. Thank you. Gunslinger Gaming continues to be an experiment that attracts an incredible level of new members because of all of your communal efforts.
We continue to get more and more fellow adults joining our fold. And there is no sign of slowing down. In fact, we have welcomed over 850 members into the Gunslingers so far in 2015. We are only half way through the year! What do you do when things works out so damn well? How do you proceed? I suggest we do what only can be done after a gamble yields good fortune.

Sometimes, we are met with disbelief when it comes to our claim that we, a gaming group active since 2007, can truly garner an older age of gamers so readily. When we write, "Clan for Adults," what does that mean? We certainly don't beat folks over the head with rules, ever-increasing restrictions during the registration process, or even mind-numbing probation periods. Do you know who needs such unfriendliness? Clans that don't actually have a culture of mature, casual gaming.
The proof is in pudding, as they say. Let's take a snapshot of the birthdays happening right now (April 30th to May 6th, 2015) within the Gunslingers community. In the present time range, there are 41 of our members blowing out candles. The average age of those members is thirty-six. They, like the rest of the Gunslingers, know the demands of parenthood, full time work, mortgages, rent, and other obligations that only a fellow adult can understand.
And we understand how that places time limits to your gaming habits. We know the satisfaction of getting home from work and being able to decompress with a round of video gaming with folks our own age. We know the mellow celebration that is felt when we reach the weekend and get to crack up some brews while sharing some multiplayer hi-jinks with buddies, virtual or otherwise.
If that sounds like you, then you are already one of us. Game with folks just like you. Join the Gunslingers.

Gunslingers Newsletter: Week of Feb. 2nd, 2015
I know, I know. It has been a while since I last posted a clan update here. That is because the first month of 2015 has been incredibly active for us! Here are some highlights of the more noteworthy events going on within the Gunslingers frontier.
New Forum! The end of January marked the six year birthday of our clan's own forum, and we have celebrated the occasion by giving it a massive overhaul! We have improved the visual and performance of the forum software. Additionally, our members can now take full advantage of enhanced versions of our own custom flash arcade, member blogs that every member automatically gets and can customize as they wish, make use our Tapatalk support, and grab quicker attention of fellow GSers by using the mention function while posting. A special tip of the hat must be given to GS*Dunkaroo69 for getting the project off the ground and to GS*Sosyc for taking care of many of the core image files. Over 160 New Members in One Month! Our overall clan welcomed over one hundred and sixty fellow mature, casual gamers into our fold during the month of January. Talk about starting the New Year out with a bang! If you were on the fence on whether or not to join us, come and take part in the party! We keep your gaming experience fun, casual, and utterly on your own time table.
Gunslinger Games Awards! During the entire month of January, we hosted our annual tradition of voting on our favorite gaming experiences during 2014. Have you ever watched the results of an awards show and wondered, "Who picked the winners?" Well, we sure did! That is why the most active clan exclusively for adult gamers collectively cast our votes on over a dozen gaming categories. The results will be revealed via podcast and Gunslinger Gazette article at the end of this week!

2014 is officially over. Being a clan that attracts older gamers from around the world with different backgrounds and additional game interests, we have an annual tradition.
THE GUNSLINGER GAMES AWARDS!
What 2014 games did you enjoy the most? With more than sixteen voting categories for this year's edition, you are invited to make your voice heard every step of the way, regardless if you are a greenhorn Gunslinger member or an veteran one.
Right now, we are at the tail end of the nomination phase of the awards, in which you decide which games even deserve to be voted on. After January 7th, the voting polls are opened based on those results. You have until the 24th to cast your vote. After that, we take the top picks from all the appropriate categories and create the "Game of the Year" poll and have one week to pick which title gets our ultimate tip of the hat.

Happy Holiday, Gunslingers!
Let me guess: December is a busy time for you. Family to see. Presents to wrap. Holiday dinners to plan. Counting down the days before you can send the rugrats back off to the classrooms. But this is also the time of the year us older gamers can either get some of the big new releases under the Christmas tree or flash gift cards around town as if they were credit cards in a bad '80s movie.
One of the largest and most active clans exclusively for fellow parents and adults, The Gunslingers, have also got into the holiday spirit. We have decorated our clan's website with holiday cheer, so check it out! Every single page has got a touch of Ol' Saint Nick. Also, we are adding holiday themed games into our own custom arcade! Some of them are even in good taste.

The raw numbers aren't what is really important here. What IS important is how active we are and how that level of membership base reflects our seven year+ dedication in providing an oasis for the gamer out there who just wants to kick his/her boots up and share some good times with people his/her own age. To put it into better perspective of just how active we are, we were celebrating our 7,000th member around the same time last year!

So, just how active are we after all these years? It is easy, I suppose, to just look at a total amount of members, but that doesn't actually say anything about how active a clan still is, does it? For example, is a long term clan still getting new members, or is its website just collecting digital cobwebs like an overly proud homeowner refusing to take down his Halloween decorations?
I am happy to report that the Gunslingers clan is still very much active. In just the first ten days of November, we have welcomed over SIXTY-THREE new members into our virtual saloon! Incredible! Thank you all for joining and welcome aboard!
The amount of members is not what is really important here. What is important is what all these members signify. The Gunslingers remains a great, active clan exclusively for all us mature, casual gamers. We don't pay for SEO (search engine placement). We don't run ads or harbor sponsors to boost our numbers. We are old school gamers, so we succeed the old school way: through commitment to our members and mission statement. We say we are for adult gamers, and we mean it. You aren't going to be talking to squeakers among us. We say we are casual gamers, and we meant it. You aren't going to be pressured into taking part in some silly clan war.

Within the Gunslingers clan, we love Halloween. Some of us are going attending costume parties (my wife and I went as a Ghostbuster and the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man), getting the rugrats ready for some trick-or-treating, or building up candy reserves to hand out on Halloween.
