the speed of the ball is what makes it good, combined with entangling shot chaingang. Slow enemies with a slow projectile moving through them means more hits

Yeah, certainly didn't pick up on that at first cause I'm an idiot and most of the time I'm playing I'm also half watching baseball so I'm never 100% focused. After playing with it for a while though it became apparent.

This question may have been ask and aswered previously but I am going to ask it again. Although my WoW guild is playing D3 for the time being I am lagging behind the leveling because work is getting in the way of fun. So I have to play D3 solo most of the time and none of my guildies are playing demon hunters.

Here is the question: Can I get a couple of pointers on solo spec-ing. I am currently only in normal mode and I am at level 28 or 29.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm actually a few levels behind you (running into the same issues with work) so none of this will probably be helpful, but this is what I've been using recently:

I'm still going back and forth between Hungering Arrow and Bola Shot, can't decide which one I like better. But I would definitely recommend using Elemental Arrow-Ball Lightning if you aren't already. I was using Rapid Fire for the first 20 some levels and did some reading on here about how everyone said EA-BL was destroying enemies and it's very true. Plus the amount of Hatred that it costs is far cheaper then the majority of other abilities at our disposal to clear trash mobs.

I'm sure that I'm wasting some skill slots with all of those defensive skills on the normal difficulty, but from what I've been hearing it sounds like Smoke Screen (even post-nerf), Preparation, and Shadow Power are all necessary to varying degrees for the harder difficulties so I'm trying to get used to them now. But I'm sure that when I finally get there they'll all have been tinkered with and I'll have ended up gimping my leveling for no reason since I don't have enough offensive abilities.

I've also been upgrading the blacksmith and gotten lucky with a few rare items that have been quite helpful, although it sounds like it's more cost effective to just use the AH. Plus a buddy is playing a wizard and is just start act 4 on normal, so he's throwing some gear my way that he doesn't need.

Not a pro by any means, but I hoped some of this was helpful. What build have you been using?

Switched to EA last night from RF after reading thread, and I have to say I was incredibly please with un-runed EA...seemed to be decimating enemies. When I finally got Ball Lighting at first I was not a fan, mainly because of how slow the ability seems to be. But as I kept running down the corridor and saw how it was littered with corpses, gear, and gold I realized it was legit. While it was much slower, it basically extinguished an entire wave of trash mobs with about three shots/30 hatred.

Excited to see what it does for me in the future.
