First let me say this i like D3 i'm loving it, and having lots of fun, but i think everyone of us agrees that it lacks something. The people that played D2 know what i'm talking about.
D2 story was so great an intense and creepy that i almost always saw the cinematics and never skipped anything. And talked to everybody and saw everything even if it was the third time i saw it. D3 story is so childrish and lame, that makes me turn my volume down sometimes just to not hear those ridiculous lines that enemies/followers and npc's say.
Examples..
Cultist: "You are not gonna get us this time"
..
Diablo: "So you destroy my hellrifts, doesn't matter soon the heavens would be history" or something like that, don't quite remember...
wtf is this? demons taunting you? did when demons taunted? and say all those crappy lines? i hate this new generation of crappy 10 years old aimed story games..
This is Diablo... not "my little pony". Diablo would !@#$ing kill you before taunting the %^-* out of you!! diablo would simply throw more demons at you instead of taunting you!!
IMO "taunts" and other !@#$ should be removed from the game, it makes the game so silly and stupid. Specially when taunts come from demons and hell lords. The part when azmodan appears as a giant face and taunts you and then you read all his plans, actually made me laugh a bit.
Also graphics are not that great IMO. This is like DiabloWOW instead of Diablo3.
The only good thing i like about this game is the fast paced action hack/slash gameplay, everything else is a little !@#$y and poorly made.
I want a remake of D2 should be called D2 HD or something like that. Or better D2 history and ambient with D3 improved gameplay mechanics. That would be epic.
Don't get me wrong i'll still play all the characters and probably level up 2 or more till 60. But after that, i'll stop playing simple as that.
TL;DR : Diablo3 is a good hack and slash rpg game. That would entertain you for a while, but lacks replayability value and the story is boring, silly and lame.
Actually i don't have 580 resist all now that i checked xD... i have 517 resist all, anyway it shouldn't be the problem there. But i'll try to get more resist anyway.

I know act 1 is suppose to be a cakewalk, is just that some elites are so !@#$ing overpowered that i get pawned within seconds.

I'm dual wielding 500 dps weapons up to 8k dps with dext and with BoH buff and blindling flass buff up to 11k dps , +517 resists in all.
My strategy is start with blinding flash, BoH for healling and for buff , serenity (always). FoT with thunderclap for quick killing and sweeping wind +fire storm for extra damage. Then click click click. I try not to kite but sometimes i have to do it.
Is working pretty well agains elites, i got to a point where i hit 5 NV without any problem. But there are some affixes combinations that i can't just pawn.
Like for example 6 cultists with electrified+extra hp+ plagged/molten + jailer ... yesterday i was trying to kill those mothe%^-*ers but i ended killing 2 and given up.
I can handle some affixes but some combinations are just ridiculous IMO.
Bosses are a joke, i could kill the butcher in a 4 team dealing pretty much decent damage, those affixes get me pawned.
I don't want to rush the act and skip those mobs i like to kill all the mothe!@#$ers, because where's the sense of accomplishment then?
So what em i doing wrong... i need more resistances than what i have now? doesn't seem to be helping at all been stacking resistances and still when i found those affixes i get pawned in seconds...
That's pretty sad, i love the monk playstyle i'll would never reroll just to do that. If i ever reroll is just to play another class. Also i see everymonk using a shield to survive, i hate shields for monk is against any idea of what the monk should be... i'm in act4 hell lvl60 about to reach inferno.. there's has to be another way to survive in inferno with the monk. Or else i just wait till they nerf down the "spiky damage" as they said.
My theory (and i am generalising) is that most of the whiners are kids who have no jobs, are not studying and just play D3 all day long. They are bored of their lives and have nothing better to do than moan and complain.
The rest of us who do have jobs and/or are studying are grateful that we can get home and hopefully play a bit of D3 every night. We enjoy it and have some fun and feel no need to go online every 20 minutes and create a thread about how shit the game is.

I'm loving the game so far, and sure it has glitches and server problems. But all of that would be fixed i'm sure of it.
People are just whining and whining. I agree with the OP here i'm really addicted to this game and i love it, i don't really care if is different from D2 or D1. I simply enjoy playing the game period. And i will keep enjoying it for long time to come.
To be honest although in your mind you may think you are right and entitled to post your feeling but I am glad Blizz are starting to wave the ban hammer around.....
Those boards are unreadable at the moment with the amount of QQ actual well constructed threads with genuine points get lost under the multitude of BS threads like the one you no doubt felt the need to spam

My diablo3 battle.net forum account has been banned aparently and i don't know the reason, and can't reply or create new threads it says "Account Banned". Has this happened to anyone else before?
