Impressive. Very impressive. As much as I admire this guy's skill in grouping and cc'ing the mobs, I can't help but wonder what this game would be like without pylons in greater rifts. he absolutely wrecked that RG though.

If you have enough +physical, try the ancient stalgard's. The proc is a very large damage increase.

Other than that, you really just need to practice grouping the mobs more efficiently with Furious Charge. Getting into GR 40+ has more to do with how you group the mobs and the types of rifts you get than it does with gear. Of course, better gear always helps. Eventually, you'll have to have a Furnace b/c of the way elite health scales up, but you can certainly do 40-44 with your current kit.

Edit: You'll also need Ancient Partheon Defenders bracers for ground stomp to really shine.

    THUNDERSTRUCK

    Never stop moving.

One of the first things I noticed among the changes of patch 2.0 was the barbarian’s loss in move speed. In the days of permaWrath, barbarians could zoom around the map and clear entire zones in no time at all. So I set about creating a build that, while not being so blatantly overpowered, could approximate the feel and excitement of clearing zones at breakneck speed. As with most builds, the difficulty level you choose to play on will be dictated by the gear your barbarian wears. Those of you with a solid amount of DPS and lifesteal will probably see the most benefit (for now!), but it is not required and I, personally, prefer life on hit. For the curious, here is a link to my profile:http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/cannae-1189/hero/2274201

    The Skill Runes-

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WhdUPR!gYZ!bYYZbc
Frenzy – Vanguard This build is designed to clear zones as quickly as possible. It stacks with your other movement speed buffs (Sprint, Wrath, +Move Items) which allows you to move from one pack of mobs to another before it expires. Vanguard also servers as good defense since you are able to move out of ground affects more swiftly.

Whirlwind – Wind Shear This rune serves two purposes, it allows you to aoe while continuing to move and it allows you to generate enough fury to keep moving. You only stop to loot and how often you loot is up to you.

Overpower – Momentum Unlike the more popular Rend, Overpower’s animation does not pause your character. Never. Stop. Moving. Using it in the middle of a group will give you more than enough fury to continue the attack. With a high enough crit chance and attack speed, it almost becomes spammable. At my current gear level (average to above average), I have no trouble using it every single mob pack.

Sprint – Run Like the Wind What more needs to be said about this rune? Volumes have already been written about its synergy and mechanics. All you need to know for this build is that it provides speed, aoe, life on hit, and can trigger item abilities such as Thunderfury or Andariel’s Visage from each tornado tic.

Battle Rage – Bloodshed Taken alone, it doesn’t seem quite essential, but throw in item triggers, fast attack speed, and high crit chance, you have a massive amount of aoe damage even from single target attacks like Frenzy.

Wrath of the Berserker – Slaughter Similar to Bloodshed, Slaughter grows more powerful the higher your crit chance and attack speed. But the real benefit is your immunity to all forms of crowd control while under the effects of Wrath. Never frozen, never still.

Passive Skills: I currently use Brawler, Weapon Master, and Ruthless for maximum damage. However, you can switch any of them for whatever suits your playstyle. If you are having trouble timing Momentum to keep your fury up, switch one (or more) to fury generators. Or, you can switch to toughness passives to try out a higher difficulty level.

    Paragon:

You should spend your paragon points on Move Speed (to 25%) since this stacks with Vanguard and Run Like the Wind. Your offensive stat is up to you. If you’re not a math nazi, simply open your character sheet and see which option gives you the highest sheet damage. Keep in mind that this doesn’t allow for special procs from items like Thunderfury and it doesn’t calculate area damage at all. Your defensive points also go wherever you need them most. I prefer life regeneration since I seem to find enough All Resistance and Armor from gear. Finally, utility points should go into Area Damage. Area Damage is very strong initially and becomes exponentially stronger as you gain higher attack speeds. 20% may not sound like a good chance, but when you are attacking dozens of mobs 2 times per second, the damage gets crazy. The area damage can also proc life on hit and other item triggers.

    Conclusion:

So there you have it, a fast-moving and high-fury build that will allow you to speed-clear whole zones. If you are the sort who has to stop to loot every item, this probably isn’t for you, but I hoped you enjoyed reading about it anyway.

posted a message on Recently hit level 60 and recently got into Inferno w/ barb. Skills help plz.
TCCB's spec is very good, but I would Replace Ignore Pain with Rend Blood Lust. Swap sidearm for triumph (since rend and revenge will be all the aoe you need). Change Relentless to Unforgiving since your health is high enough to make the life regen noticable.

Honestly, the best thing to do is just play the game until the next itemization patch. Gear that would be noticeably more powerful than your current gear is going to cost you more gold than you've ever had.

Still, if you want some kind of trophy to aim for:

get an IK chest with more vitality, Ice Climbers with more vitality, Mempo of Twilight with crit, upgrade all your gems, look for a 1400+ Skorn with 300 vit/ 300 str and 190% crit damage, and keep crafting for better and better items.

I dunno, they allowed World of Warcraft to go nearly a year without major content patches towards the end of Cataclysm. If they do that for a subscription-based MMO....

Watch Moldran's 100m / MP 10 budget barb guide. Although the price of the 300str/vit Skorn has risen quite a bit as a result of his publicity, it is still the most efficient xp/hr and legendary/hr build I've seen. It does take a little effort to get used to generating fury without Bash/Frenzy, but once you get the rhythm down, it is far faster than anything else, especially with all the new mob density changes.

Was thinking of selling this set to fund another character, but I'm not sure what the total value of the set would be, or if I could get an equivalent Demon Hunter set for it.

    Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

The "select Monster Density" option would be worth the price of an expansion IMO (only scale it up to 10,000%) :)

Looks like farming the act II keywarden will still be rather boring :(

    Act I looks much improved.

Act IV seems about the same, really. Did you notice more elites per map? Mob density in Act IV was never as much a bottleneck as killing elites was b/c it took much longer to build NV stacks in my opinion. Act III had many more elite packs.

How did your kill streaks (Massacre, et al.) compare to traditional Act III runs?

It depends on what you find more enjoyable.

Some people level up as fast as they can. They will use every means to empower their character with the best gear, the highest dps builds, the shortest leveling routes.

Some people enjoy the theme, stories, characters, and quests. They take their time exploring every nook and cranny. A ten minute boss fight isn't considered time-consuming, it's thought of as an epic battle.

Some people dabble with one character class only to swap to another ten minutes later. They might spend more time trying out different skills than they do questing.

Find out what works for you and do that. There is no right way only your way.

Personally: I limit myself to using the Auction House for only one character. My alts level up with only what I find in my travels. It makes for a more compelling gameplay. To me, being able to buy anything you want cheapens the experience.

Start investing in better gems. Look for items with attack speed without losing your effective health or damage. Craft Archon Spaulders of Vitality.
