posted a message on Banned in Diablo 3
Auction house related bans are specified as such in the original e-mail so your RMAH related purchase has nothing to do with the action on your account. I should know because I was temporarily banned when there was a very minor mismatch in my contact information on Battle.net and Paypal. And there is a very specific set of instructions in the e-mail on how to challenge the suspension (appeals are handled by a specific group of service reps).

You didn't mention anything about your mouse. Does it have additional software installed on your system which can also perform macros? Having the software installed won't cause an issue. 1-to-1 actions also won't be an issue. But if you happened to set up an action which can perform more than one action at the same time, that could set off the detection system. Some folks have been able to get unbanned once they explained the situation and Blizzard looked further at the account in question (like if they suspect botting, an account will show so.me clear signs of that). Another thing that helps is if you've never had an issue before. They'll basically give you a pass.

While they do say all appeals need to be communicated electronically, most successful resolutions I know of have been via phone. Most of the people that I've tried to help who were indeed innocent, we're unbanned once they talked to the right support rep.

BTW - I have to agree with Nausicaa. Open one ticket only. When a CSR responds to that ticket, it gets automatically closed. You can easily re-open that same ticket again by responding to it. Opening multiple tickets for the exact same issue is actually more detrimental. The other reason you want to keep everything in one ticket is to keep all of the communications related to your issue in one place. Different CSR's will be handling your ticket and it makes their job easier to find all the previous information which could help them resolve your situation.

posted a message on Gameplay/FPS on MBP mid 2010
According to others who have near similar specs as your MBP, the game play currently runs a bit rough even at the lowest video settings (15-20fps). Even bootcamp users did not see much significant change unless discrete graphics were involved. So I guess the answer is the game will be playable but without some of the higher end effects.

Blizzard did post the following last week: http://us.battle.net...opic/5151270034

The optimization is primarily for earlier (mid-2009 systems) with the 9400M chipset but note that it says other cards will also see significant improvement.

FYI, when the open beta weekend occurred, I originally tried running it on my Air (2011) with the 1.6GHz Core i5 and Intel HD3000 graphics. The performance was okay at the default settings (which were mostly on the low setting) but the video still felt a bit laggy at some spots. Running it on my Mac Pro (2010) with the settings all on their highest at 2560x1600 is like night and day in terms of overall experience (performance as well as effects even in areas of the game where the action is intense). And thats with a nothing special Radeon 5770.

Hopefully this first tuning will allow more Mac users to play the game with a less compromised experience.

posted a message on Casual Player view of this game
I'm a fairly casual player... since receiving the game on Tuesday afternoon, I've only logged 32 hours of total game time (14 on a barbarian, 16 on a wizard, 2 futzing around with a demon hunter). Over half of those hours has been on Friday until today. I'm currently only in Act 2 Normal for the barb and wiz. Am taking a break after around 8 hours of play. Truthfully, 1 hour goes by quickly since I'm doing the "explore every part of the map" deal. So in that regards, progress at times feels glacial for me.

My CE (ordered from Walmart.com) arrived at the FedEx facility on Saturday and was flagged as a delivery exception (not to be delivered until May 15) Monday afternoon. Considering the server situation...

The installer was unable to read the file "Diablo III/Diablo III.app/Contents/Frameworks/Cg.framework/Cg".

On Mac OS X. Anyone know why this is happening?

Sounds like an installation permission issue. When you launched Diablo III Setup, did it prompt you for your administrative password? The entire Diablo III folder (and enclosed contents) are owned by "system". I didn't install mine into the default /Applications/Diablo III folder though. I pointed it to another disk where I keep my non-Apple applications.

Anybody who is successfully installed can you tell me how big the d3 folder is?

For anyone running Mac OS X (I'm using 10.6.8), the D3 folder is 8.47GB. The installer folder itself was 8.16GB. Installer also noted it wanted at least 15GB (presume its done just for added space insurance). Able to launch the app, get to the login screen, and watch up to the "Cain Lives" cinematic (unlocked since I didn't delete the preferences file from the open beta).

posted a message on CE Available on Walmart website
I pre-ordered the CE on April 25 from Walmart.com since Amazon and other places I tried basically showed it as unavailable during that time. I presumed at such a late juncture, that there weren't going to be CE's available... but I decided to try anyway since all it would result in is a cancelled order.

I just got my shipping notification this evening. Even though I had selected standard shipping, the package is being delivered via FedEx. Walmart's status shows an estimated delivery between May 22-24 (which is what was originally shown when I pre-ordered). FedEx tracking shows delivery by May 15.
