posted a message on Inferno nerf incoming
Corpse walking through Inferno isn't much of an accomplishment, come play Hardcore. Population is low (200-450 public games) and general skill level in public games is a bit higher. Most people run in private games with friends to farm as voice comm is pretty important.

As it stands right now, most people in Hardcore are still farming act 1 Inferno or running their character up to 60 again.

Leave softcore to the casual, come join the fun in hardcore.

posted a message on Save and exit???
    Quote from jabronii

Instant tp does kinda ruin it, but they will have to give some sort of escape option, and 10 seconds is nearly impossible to escape the skeleton king in normal, less any boss in nightmare+. People want hardcore to be so intense, then I want to hear it from one d2 player that didn't save and exit during a boss fight or tp to town, "I'm hardcore, I'd rather let my character die and lose all my shit" it doesn't happen, everyone has done it. These people talking on here how "hc" they are will be the ones hiding behind their follower at lvl 40 still in normal.

Yeah, not sure who these guys are kidding....how many of ya'll even played d2 HC seriously? That's all I played, and having an easier escape option (like "save and exit" in d2) still makes HC difficult. Everyone that played HC ladder seriously in d2 has used "save and exit" or quick tp to escape at some point. HC d2 was still more challenging and fun than SC, regardless of the easy escape methods. Items were rarer and more valuable due to perma death, there was a constant underlying tension which added a whole other level to the gameplay.

I was planning on playing d3 hardcore until I found out about a lack of a quick escape feature. I think some of you guys are deluding yourselves into thinking that you're some kind of superior gamer, able to handle any situation in d3 because of how long you played d2, or that you wont be too mad when your character dies, or "that's the point of HARDcore".

A lot of the comments I've read in this thread are clearly coming from people that don't have any frame of reference with d2 hardcore. Just because you've tried HC once or twice and got through nightmare does not make you a real HC player. Try crawling through Hell difficulty after a fresh ladder reset, when everyone is running around in shitty rares and blues.

I'm sure that the very people in this thread that admonish a quick escape feature will be begging for it a few weeks after launch.
