Now true, there is a very real and legally binding Terms of Service or EULA that we all "read" and signed saying we agreed that this exact thing is okay to do to us
You answered your own question. If you don't want to take the chance of an item you spent real money on changing, don't use the ah.
What's the effective damage difference between hungering arrow and nether tentacles btw, shouldn't they be similar on single target or no?
Considering hungering arrow is 115% and NT is 155%, no they shouldn't be similar. After enough shots you should get enough pierces to even them out though. But I don't know how long that would take.
From my time in the Beta, I'd say the WD was easily the most op class. At least until you got a decent 2 hander on the Barb. So I'm sure the doctor will be popular, it just may take some time.
This is my current plan. It offers a snare from Entangling Shot/Chain Gang, single target damage through Rapid Fire, Aoe damage with Multi-shot and Rain of Vengeance, high mobility from Vault and Tumble and some utility with Mark of Death/Contagion.
I'll also have multiple damage types for those pesky double immunes which I expect to exist.
