This is basically what I was thinking.

Corpse Spiders- Leaping Spiders can lob over front lines to target things. granted will auto target but if placed right will hit the target area you want

Grasp of the dead - Unbreakable grasp to keep things at bay longer

Locust Swarm - Searing Locust to help burn that summoner in the back or single target dps

Mass confusion - Paranoa to get damge buff and reduce hostile targets at beginning of fight

Wall of zombie - barricade used as oh crap button to escape

Fire bats - dire bats as a mana dump and long range dps

Obviously this is all theory as i have never played the beta and I know i will need elective mode on. I know this wont be ideal and will get seriously reworked as I level and try to find out what works and what doesnt. I am not completely against summons but using an ability where I am only gettting a summon seems like I will get more utility out of other things. Maybe getting dogs on the map through circle of life or through the other rune from mass confusion will have to see while I am playing. If it doesnt work I guess I will slowly start adding summons until I can play with the least amount possible.

I do not want to play a wizard basically don't like nuke concept. I am more of a DOT damage kind of player. I have made a few builds all having good control and defense with single target and multi target dps. My only question is at higher difficulties do you think a WD will have to have atleast one summon or will a properly built non summon be not only viable but strong.

I was actually thinking of doing this exact thing basically focusing on multiple defense dodge, armor, resitance, and the block would be added bonus to whatever gets through hopefully.

Way of the Hundred Fists - Spirited Salvo to help with spirit regen
    Tempest rush -
    Blinding Flash -
Sweeping Wind - Master of the Wind
    SSS - Sudden Assault
Mantra of Evasion - Hard Target

Passives - Seize the initiative, One With Everything, Sixth Sense

Hoping that there will be good enough balance with the damage to be useful if not can always tweek later on.

Searing Locusts was going to be my single target. Leaping spiders will target one guy if there is only one. Like I siad I could go poison dart if needed just like the Lob mechanic a lot.

This is something I was thinking that matched my style of play after watching some youtube videos.I really like the mechanics of the spells the WD has but not a huge fan of summons. Corpse spiders could be replaced with Poison Dart but like the auto targeting of the leaping spiders.
    Corpse Spider - Leaping Spiders
Grasp of the dead - Unbreakable Grasp
    Fire Bats - Hungry Bats
    Locust Swarm - Searing Locusts
    Mass Confusion - Paranoia
    Wall of Zombies - Barricade

Passives I could change for more survival but I think I have enough built in with skills and runes but passives are

    Spiritual attunement
    Blood Ritual
    Pierce the Veil

I know it is not perfect and I am not a Diablo pro and have limited experience with the other two Diablos but I feel this will work. My thoughts were to give me damage buffs with the passives and mass confusion rune so I dont have to get close for soul harvest. Please let me know your opinions.

After reading the repsonses I guess I was more curious before farming inferno and hell would it be better to have other classes leveled just in case gear drops for the other classes and we just have bad luck for our main. Then we could use the better gear on the alt to farm for our main.

I am curious if it will be more beneficial to level all the hero's to take advantage of the first time boss kills for each hero or just level one until you get bored then switch. For example complete one act with a hero then go back and complete with other characters passing all the best gear to you main hero. This would obviosly take much longer. The other advantage to this if something drops for another class all of your hero's are somewhat close in level so you wont have much time to try this new item. If you are in hell or inferno farming and you have other high level hero's maybe you get a really lucky drops for a class which is not your main and it will now be easier to farm on that hero instead of your main until you the gear to do so. I am curious on other opinions thanks.
