I'm considering picking up D2 again since i'm bored out of my mind waiting for D3. However, the problem I tend to run into when trying to get back into D2 is that I've got no friends to play with. The game doesn't really hold my attention when i'm alone since normal mode is pretty easy, but still pretty long if you're trying to solo run without good items or whatever. Anyone know a good way to actually get into the D2 community, or am I barking up the wrong tree and should I just do something else to bide my time til May 15th?
So... I mean, not to come across as a jerk, but what is it about Hostility that was so amazing in D2? As someone who played it for a pretty good length of time, I never really could see where the real "skill factor" of hostility came in. It always seemed to me that the only uses of Hostility were either in duel games, where it was simply treated as a duel function and everyone fought outside Rogue Encampment, or it was used to grief people when you were 20+ levels over them. Don't get me wrong, I think PvP is fun, and I'm hoping to see it implemented well in D3, but seriously, when do you ever recall everyone having a jolly good time mid-quest being super happy when a bunch of high level jerks roll in and kill them?
