Hey guys, new Diablo Fan member here.
I wasnt going to register, but oh well :) lets just give it a try. Getting in the beta isnt my priority, playing the full game is :)
    Nice to meet you guys.

Im from Uruguay btw, sorry about my english
    See ya around.

Hey! I'm new as well. I'm actually glad for one that the d3 website had this link. I can see myself using this website more when D3 comes out, or if I possibly get a beta key. It's also nice right now for keeping posted on other people's ideas on character design. I'm also hoping to meet some people to start our first round of straight normal to inferno play. I did this in Diablo II, it took sooooo long. It was so much fun, and definitely worth it! Maybe I'll see you around sometime. Welcome!!

posted a message on PVP unlockable items?
    Quote from SWMseekingKEY

I'm sure this has already been covered in the forums, so my apoligizes in advance.

Anyone know if there will be items only awarded for awards for PVP play?

if there is no real scoring, or payoff, I can't see it being very popular or addicting.

As of now, no. This game will be geared more towards just dungeon crawling. Maybe in a patch or an expansion they will release PVP specs, but as it stands the game is more PVE. I personally am thrilled because I can get a pvp fix anywhere, but the PVE that Diablo III will give us will be fantastic.

posted a message on Introducing the Dreadnite, what are your thoughts?
    Quote from ZenX

Even though the game itself is not out yet, I began wondering what the new class will be for the first expansion. I speculate the addition of a more or less of more sinister class than a Demon Hunter, one that had been damaged by the demons so much that, he/she only thrives for vengeance and is chaotic good/neutral in its nature, that the vengeance is all that matters for the pain that have been inflicted.

Introducing the Dreadnite:The Impending Nightfall of the Burning Hells

"The Paladins of the Zakarum, once the paragon of hope in the dreaded lands of Sanctuary were a beacon of light that swept through darkness and vanquished the bane of life. However, with the fall of the church and the destruction of worldstone, they were thinned in number as demons and cultists alike had sought them for vengeance.
Not all of them had been as lucky as the Templar who managed to escape with the help of valiant heroes. Under submission, they have been subjected to dark magics unspeakable to the most powerful of wizards, the goal was simple, to transform the banes of evil into its foremost champions. Ones that had already been weakened in their faiths were turned to ruthless killing machines wielding demonic power as of their own.
However, those who had not submitted break free in the wake of their new power, more of an abomination of dark energy, only seeking vengeance against those who had made him/her, and a being that matched the power of the lieutenants of the seven.

The Dreadnite is born, and vengeance on the evil has been sworn..."

Think of a shield and heavy armor wielding Warlock that can subdue lesser demons and transform into a form resembling greater demons, while can hold his/her ground against the hordes of demons as an indomitable fortress. Analogous to a combination of Death Knight and Warlock, yet much more anti-hero.

However, it should be noted that, contrary to DKs who want to be redeemed or Warlocks that pact with demons for greater power and for protection the of their land/nation/faction, this class of "hero" is a pure manifestation of hatred and vengeance, a being that won't stop until the Burning Hells cease to exist.

As a sidenote, don't confuse this with a Demon Hunter, who only really hunt demons for vengeance and are pretty much righteous in their cause and such, whereas, a Dread Knight is a demonic abomination and a killing machine, anything between them and a demon is only an obstacle to be cleared.

"A Dreadnite will not stop until the Burning Hells cease to exist"

    What are your thoughts?

Not going to lie, this seems like a killer idea! I would really look forward to something like this in an expansion pack for Diablo III. I really feel like they could take this idea and perfect it with their own signature. I hope they see your idea and take the hint for sure!!!!

posted a message on How much of Act 1 is the beta?
    Quote from Annubizz

When beta was launched (28th of September 2011) They have announced that contect in Diablo 3 beta is like 1/3 of Act I. From what I have seen, you are able to finish playthrough in beta in 1,5 hour (Ok, you are new in Diablo, you want to kill everything see everything etc..... Let´s count with 2 hours). So little math....

    1/3 Act I. ...... 2 hours
    Act I. ...... 2 hours * 3 = 6 hours
    6 hours per one * 4 acts = 24 hours

So I think that my first playthrough with all cinematics, killing every mob, feel the game and enjoy it for the first time (You know what I mean :)) ) Will be around 24 hours play time.....

24 Hours and we are talking about NORMAL ..... :))

Let me stop you here. Projections like this are not practical in a real life situation such as this. It is impossible to predict the amount of cinematics, and the amount of mobs. Clearly these variables will change depending on the Act. I highly doubt even normal will only take 24 hours on your first try. I'm sorry to tell you these things, as I know it may break your heart. But personally, if playing normal only took 24 hours (first try), I would be sad. So maybe more for my sake, I hope you're wrong.

posted a message on All the classes look and feel very fun.
    Quote from zaireskillz1

Generally when I play RPGs I always play one archetype. Warrior/Barbarian that dual weilds. However for some reason in d3 every time I see or play the other classes, they feel so unique and awesome in their own regard. Besides the awkward interface for the new skill runes, beta patch 13 feels awesome.

Am I alone on this? I'm actually looking forward to rolling other characters just due to how unique they all are.

ps. beta patch 13 is super solid, hopefully this is the last major hurtle before release :(

I love Diablo II because I can play anything on there. In WoW, I generally stick to melee dps or tanks. The Diablo universe has allowed me to step over the threshold that's held me back. I anticipate rolling all the characters at least twice (10slots), and probably deleting to reroll over and over again. Like Diablo II, I feel I will never get bored of this game.

    Quote from Mysticjbyrd

But I told you so... I told you exactly why the runestone system would not work, and I was called a noob and flamed to no end. It was simply mathematically impossble, and there is no workaround for math.

Ohh now dont feel bad, there are some serious drawbacks to always being right. For example, life has very few cliff-hangers.

PS: To all the people crying about the removal of a terriblly broken runestone system, and discussing how to fix the new runeskill system, I would just like to ask you one thing. WTF are you talking about? Fist off Its not broken, it replaced a broken system, and now they finally have a system that fking works!! Secondly, given the short time frame til launch do you actually think they will replace this idea? Hint: No

First, bravo, but many people called this and were flamed. I'm glad that someone else thought the rune system was flawed. I'm not entirely sure, however, if their quick fix was a fix at all. The UI isn't terribly appealing, and, from what I've seen, it looks very simple. I have faith in them though. I know they will change this to something more beautiful by the time the game is released.
