I have a feeling it'll be just like D2 where stuff simply becomes less effective on the harder difficulties. I tended to favor a straight up frenzy barb for magic finding because of that. At worst all I needed to do was use potions, but for the most part even nerfed lifesteal was enough to get me through Hell Mephisto runs.
I'm not going to lie, I have no idea how this game works which is why I want to get into beta so bad, however I dinked around with a monk build that seems like its ultimately going to fail in the end game, but seems like it'd be awesome to level with since it essentially stacks multiple aoe skills. I left the main skill as a single target debuff/damage dealer as I am assuming there will be things with god awful high hp like in D2.
Until I actually see how the characters work and such I won't really be able to tell.... but as someone whose leveled a barb through hell multiple times and tends to favor melee characters, I can't stress how valuable the ability to aoe is as you tend to have to stick yourself into the middle of the fray and in the case of a Frenzy Barb in D2, not attacking equates to death in higher difficulties.
