The atmosphere is a lot more daunting. If anything, they could have made it more grand and "end-times".

And Diablo 2 had NO end game. They're gonna release PvP, and that was always a given. Inferno has kept PLENTY of people busy enough, with Ghom kicking all of our asses at some point.

Diablo 3 is a very good game...

    ...NOT

    Elaborate?

To me personally all childish character and boss dialogues/monologues makes the D3 atmosphere really bad. You run through Act3 and Azmodan comes many times to say how you won't kill him. When you fight diablo, he keeps saying same sh*t over and over again. It's like they made story and dialogues for 8 year old kid.

Now on end-game, D2 had pretty much unlimited leveling + PvP. D3 does not have any of this. If i do 2 hour farm run and find not good items then my run is complete waste of time; in D2 i at least had my level improved which was much better feeling.

And PvP, well it's coming, but if it takes them 6 months to put PvP in game then it's pointless - most of the players will leave by that time.

    Kids are evil.

Pretty sad that they are doing a patch like this in the middle of the day. They should do it at around 1 AM PST when people aren't on.

Who the hell is on during the day? Stay at home ma or pa? Unemployed people? Teenagers on summer vacation oh wait they might just be waking up now.... still don't see the logic in this astute observation.

If the internet whiners would have been the majority then yes, though they think otherwise they are a minority there are people who are hell bent on doing their job with upmost efficieny.

Kinda wierd with all the "Inferno is fine, if you don't like it go play something els" posts, seeing that far under 1% has actually hit inferno and prolly even less that's past act 1...

You gotta be freakin' deranged to think inferno is fine as it is now! Yeah maybe some classes are doing better than others but if ur playing a barb or a monk past act one, ur pretty much screwed unless ur sitting on shitloads of gold or the "best" items available at the moment..

Unless you wanna corpse-run and just skip every pack and kill bosses, this game is pretty much downright boring in it's current state.
Only thing you can do is just find a good farm spot and wait it out because vortex/teleports champions are plain stupid.

Don't get me wrong, I love when it's difficult but this is just difficult in the wrong and least fun way..
    Just my 2 cents.

You have five other classes to play the game with, sync them up and the game gets "easier" in the sense that you will getting gear that is "useful" for you. Having seen what can happen with items of the same level regarding stats range randomization, it is pretty much normal that is pretty hard to come by what you really need.

When I see these posts, I wonder have these people really played D2 in the sense how you really play the genre:

1 - Finish the highest difficulty
2 - Farm it until you are at the most l33t point, then return back to hell bosses to 1-shot your ego out of them

Too many WoW-players spewing at the game for being the bad customer they are, sigh -_-

    Quote from Enty

Actually He can strike down anything unjust, no matter who it's been unjust to. It doesn't say the unjust action must be done to the high heavens, so El'druin could technically have saved leah. If it was the final strike it would have justly struck down the demons souls in Leah, but left leah alone. because technically Leah didn't do anything she was the victim of the worst tragedy ever.

My post clearly states his position pre-fall as it was his testament to truly carry out justice rather than being bound to the ancient rules of heaven.
However, the problem in the case in which Leah had the demon was no mere possession, being the demon's kin herself makes things twisted to the point that she would be more of a partial incarnation with self-conscious keeping it in check.
With Black Stone finally infused, she had been fully assimilated and the demon had taken the control.
However, this should not be mistaken as a form of suppression as she was a demon in essence.
Hence, striking down the demon would have also killed Leah as well.

The paladin will be the mortal host of tyrael

No, Tyrael directly turns into a human after the "extraction" of his wings.

    Quote from Neonz

If one is stronger than the other and the weak man has the option of assuming that strength, wouldn't he? It isn't completely out of the question - the paladin might just be stronger than Tyreal, after all we killed Diablo with him where Tyrael failed?

Not necessarily, Tyrael was not able to kill Diablo because he didn't really committed anything against Angels, hence, it would not be just for him to strike the demon. Even his indirect actions and manipulations are being frowned upon by his siblings in the council to the point that he abandons his position and heritage, and falls from heavens.

posted a message on Is it possible to solo Act 2 inferno?
    Quote from Warguyver

Serious response please. Act 1 inferno is pretty east to farm; Act 2 feels impossible.

    I hope this helps:
    My Build: http://eu.battle.net...gVki!Vde!bZZaba
    Templar's Build: http://eu.battle.net...r/follower#1101

The key is to keep the 5 stacks of frenzy, War Cry and Battle Rage, as well effectively using the hammer of ancients and trying to stay away a bit a when going below 30% health to let the templar take the damage as well as let him do the initial charges. This is especially for rare packs and champions.
If say things go really bad as in you came upon a really gruesome pack of enemies switch Threatening Shout to Earthquake runed with Mountain's Call and drop it below them while the battle rage is up, it will greatly gimp.
However, if it is an invulnerable minion packed champion you'll have to kite it around after clearing its surroundings.

    Quote from BeRse

there are champions/elites which are impossible to kill - not with the best gear in the world and thats very poor game design in my opinion

Sygodoeden claims he can clear Acts 1-3 and it's just Act 4 that he occasionally has to skip some Elite packs. I'm curious what packs you think are impossible. Granted there are some specific monsters that become exponentially harder as an Elite pack and even worse when they have certain affixes, but to claim them as unbeatable on day 4 is extreme.

Invulnerable Minions + Illusionist + Arcane Enchanted + Fast or Extra Health
there are other examples of impossible packs but this is in my eyes by far the worst case you can face in inferno

Have came upon those and beaten them in both NM and Hell. However, the thing that hurts more is how they drop a whooping +60 Int, +50 Dex, +20 Exp from monsters and +300 health from globes item while you are poor Barbarian having to suffer 10 minutes of kiting as well as 3-4 deaths followed by skill tweaks. I would normally be satisfied with such a kill, however, I can't as some RNG engine has sworn to screw me over and over :(

Nevertheless, I don't know about how much the supposed soloer has skipped or not, however, upon checking it I roughly have(deviation<10%) the same number of elite and overall kill numbers with him and I'm in Act 1 Hell(with no farming of previous difficulty). So its either that Blizzard just loves screwing me over with difficulty and loot or this player is not really telling us all there is to what (s)he has done.

Have you stacked any vitality or have you directly went for dexterity, they had said that starting with Hell you'd be wanting to min-maxing around survivability and damage.

In all my honesty, if a Barbarian finishes Inferno in HC that person should be named as the Immortal King or Queen(Haven't really checked whether if they are giving the title for something) as well as gaming god or what not. Its already been a total of 20 times I have died and I'm newly starting ACT III in nightmare mode.

I'm a little worried, with the way the game is extremely linear/story-driven. Does every time you play the game force you to listen and watch cinematics or can you just farm items like in d2?

I haven't beat normal yet, so I wanted to see anyone that is on nightmare how they feel about playing the same content over again.

There are many other dungeons on maps that are not on the main storyline and you can pretty much do them.

I'm wondering if we will really fight Tyrael or Adria

    kill her
, considering how they have added berserk timers on bosses.

This is actually really terrible of them to do, I'd understand it if they had given it to anyone with betamaxed or overachiever, but anyone that had received the invite?

Its really a terrible PR move on Blizzard's side with anyone who had thought of this as a good idea is an idiot. Why? You already had granted those people with beta address and in itself that was a win, now giving an achievement to them as a FoS is just riddiculous, beyond anything.

posted a message on Sicne When did Diablo Lore turn into Starwars/DBZ/SPAWN
    Quote from Plocer

You mean the makers and owners of the story, which hold the right to change the story and lore as they wish, changed the lore and the "old nostalgia" factor of the original, whether it was actually good or bad compared to the new is being biased against because most people assume old>new everytime? blah

    This^

    and...

Disclaimer: This part may be a bit harmful to some of you.

First of all, you are haven't really read anything regarding the Diablo Universe or really incapable of combining any tiny tidbits of information.

    Why?
The events that transpire there is more than 200 years prior to the start of Diablo, as it was the time when Jered Cain imprisoned Diablo, and it is being noted that it was 45 years after the establishment of Horadrim(by Tyrael) that Mephisto was caught and it Baal after him with Diablo being the last. Hence, we are talking about at least 245 years prior to the start of Diablo.

Furthermore, the Eternal Conflict is being halt with a truce at the end of the Sin War followed by the Dark Exile and the duration between this even and the establishment of Horadrim is noted to be 40 years.

In the end, the event in Wrath is at least 285 years prior to the start of Diablo.
Bear in mind that the High Heavens did not know of the terror spread by the Prime Evils during their exile as Tyrael knowing how they would react(Noting it as Burning Hells breaking the truce), had chosen to hide the information from them.

    http://www.diablowiki.com/Horadrim
    http://www.diablowiki.com/Deckard_Cain
    http://www.diablowiki.com/Baal
    http://www.diablowiki.com/Mephisto

Now let me return back to my original point, angels and demons in this story is far from what is being depicted in Abrahamic religions or the conventional way people perceive them.

Hence, it is pretty much customary for the characters to change in a course of centuries, due to how there is no apparent war being fought with Burning Hells as well as how Tyrael had spent more time in Sanctuary than he has in High Heavens. It is stated in Book of Cain how Tyrael and Imperius were brothers in arms during the endless conflict and how they had fought together.
However, the events shown in the Wrath may very well be the stretch in their relationship as well as how their differences in their view of the Nephalem introducing another one.
Apparently, time concerned Diablo's( A demon known for his unorthodox methods of inciting terror) trap may very well have introduced either the first or the final stretch that is begin breaking up the Angiris Council, starting with the bond of Tyrael and Imperius.
