I think that if they would not give that much information, people would be bitching about it.

Thats the problem, I don't agree with them keeping us up to date on every step of the game-making process. They should have just announced the game, had the beta, gotten the feedback from it and released. Now they have to hear tons of criticism and people are demanding that certain things be changed, altered etc.

    Hey guys

Call me crazy. But in my personal opinion, I believe that blizzard has given away a bit too much information away on the game. No, i'm not talking about the story line, Im referring to posting the skills, items, monsters, artisans on their website.

I was a alot younger when I started to play Diablo 1 and 2. The fact that i Knew absolutely nothing before playing each of these games led to a very full, exciting experience. Whether it was finding some crazy looking piece of jewelry or casting meteor for the first time, I had no idea what to expect and this just enticed me to play more and more.

Now it just seems like they have given away a whole bunch of information on the game itself. People have even started creating their character builds before the game has even been released! Not to mention, we have access to information on some of the monsters, items etc. I refuse to even look at the items, artisans, skills or anything. I want it to be a big surprise the first time I play this game.

I think blizzard has given too much information away but thats just my opinion. What do you guys think?

haha. So many options...I was even thinking about buying a slimline desktop as it would probably be alot cheaper!

Ok i've decided to buy a new laptop. Still need a bit of help choosing one though!

    400-700

What country will you be buying this in?
    Canada

What size notebook do you prefer?
    15.6"

Would you consider a refurbished laptop?
    Maybe

What are the primary tasks you need this notebook for?
Web Surfing, school related and able to play d3 on medium-high settings, It won't be a total gaming laptop.

What games will you be playing?
    Only D3.

Where will you be using this laptop?
Will be used different places and Will stay on desk

How many hours of battery life do you need?
honestly, anything is better than what i have now. 3 hours is plenty (my computer now maybe only gets 1 hour if i'm lucky)

Will you be buying online or in store?
    online or in store

    Which OS do you prefer?
    Windows 7

List the screen resolutions that interest you:
    Whatever looks good lol

Blizz is actually good with their minimum, they mean low, and plays good.
    Quote from Britward

Yeah. I've played on machines well below recommended for WoW and the like and the game played fine on low settings.

    /disagree

ive played machines that had spec above minimum WoW and SC2 settings and wouldnt play without lag even on absolute minimum settings. maybe other variables were involved but honestly your not safe with minimums or even recommended, a little cushion always helps and any game on absolute lowest settings looks like dog sh*t, so... yea spend a few bucks so your not looking at square blocks

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mDFwJL2Xus
ive been waiting to post that to something all day!

But yeah, 100% agree its going to look like crap, wither it works or not. But yeah I have a few peps that have below minimum and it works rather well (well... rather well for what it is, HORRIBLE looking, but plays at a solid 20-30 fps) which is not that bad tbh. (resolution can play a big deal in it.. notice the "resolution" they are using for it =P

The link I listed has some laptops for about ~$600 that should be able to play it at about mid mid-high. Someone in the thread confirmed skyrim at close to high.

But thats if your 100% set on the laptop. Desktop will get your a lot more bang for you buck.

But regardless trying SC2 is still agood idea, if you are not able to even play that, then you can rule out d3, if you can play it, and you think it plays ok, then you might have hope.

Yeah I would definately need a laptop since I'm considerng working out of my province and If thats true I don't want to be lugging around my desktop!

    Hello everyone.

Now i'm sure 1000 of these have already been made, and I've read various threads on here as well as on Blizzards site as well.

However, with that being said, i'm not the strongest with computer specifications and would like a second opinion if my pc will run d3.

    Thanks guys, really appreaciate it.

You may need an upgrade. Your graphics card is equivilent to an onboard card and the processor is very old. Dual-core will likely run D3, but it would need a dedicated video card to supliment the lack of processor support. It's possible that it will run at the very lowest settings, but it's unlikely that it would be an enjoyable experience.

It's probably going to cost more to upgrade my laptop than to just buy a new one, and yeah while it may be possible to play d3 on this computer, I want it to be an enjoyable experience and for it not to be bogged down and all pixel-like.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!

I think you're going to struggle to run it, to be perfectly honest. But the best advice I've seen here is trying out SC2. SC2 is similar in graphical quality, and SC2 is quite a bit more processor intensive, so if you can run SC2, you'll be able to run D3, though with graphics turned down on that set up.
Thanks man, i'll try sc2 out and let you guys know how it works. In the event that I do need a new computer, I'm looking for something thats a good all around PC(laptop preferably) and can play a game like D3 on decent quality settings and on a regular basis. Nothing too crazy/expensive. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sorry, but your video card is absolute trash.

I don't have deep experience with trash laptop cards, however. From what I can see, its performance is worse than 7 years old video cards.

Its unlikely to run it at all. I would never have anyone buy a laptop with such a card even if they only browse the internet and play flash games.

well to be honest with you, I didn't buy this computer for gaming at all, more for college. It's done everything I've wanted it to do and more, but now that i'm thinking about gaming on it I was curious if I could get by with this one.

thanks for the response, i appreciate it!

It's actually only 2 years old and still runs very well(just not sure with games yet) I would get a desktop, but due to limited space thats not really an option.

so here's another question. If D3 releases in the next couple of months and I end up installing it on this computer, but end up buying a better computer down the road....I can't transfer my copy of d3 over to my new computer I would have to buy a whole new copy correct?

    Thanks again!
