I don't think the size really matters, more the speed we will get when 100k ppl want to download it If i remember correctly i had to download 350mb ish last patch.
Blizzard launchers can use BitTorrent so speed should not be an issue (more people -> faster download).
See if you'd like a sound card too. Most gamers underrate their sound card don't know why. I mean I don't know why
Because its not important in the slightest. It has little to nothing to do with how well the game runs, and that's what is really important.
Excuse me but why do we care about performance in the first place? Considering that we are on D3 forum, I assume that it's not to get fast build times when coding but rather to make games run with good FPS on high graphics settings. All in all, to get a pleasant gaming experience.
That being said, I don't see how graphic experience is any more important than sound experience. FPS drops are as much annoying as buzzing and humming coming out of your headphones/speakers.
If you do have the extra money that you want to spend, replacing your sound card will be much more noticeable (assuming that you have adequate sound system) than jumping from 85 to 100 FPS (random numbers, the point is that anything above your screen refresh ratio is irrelevant).
I know this isn't an option for everyone, but CE combines really nicely with WoW Annual Pass.
This way I'll have digital version available and will be able to play right away at midnight. And few days later when the CE box finally arrives, I'll get 4 moths of WoW time automatically refunded (yes, it's there when you actually read the contract). So I'll be essentially paying only the difference between digital and collector's edition while getting benefits of both.
I totally agree. Username is so detached from the whole post that it's only natural to look for it above the avatar picture. I kinda got used to it now, but I was really confused at first as well. And I still find it a bit annoying.
I've always been a big fan of AMD mid-range graphics with quiet cooling and low power consumption but still somewhat decent performance. Currently I am using my old HD 4670 because it can easily run WoW on ultra and thats pretty much all I am playing.
But all in all, it's time to finally replace this three generations old graphis, especially because I want to enjoy D3 fully - without any annoying FPS drops or poor details.
So my question is simple, anybody here already purchased new HD 7770 and tried playing beta on it? How does it perform? Is it good enough, or should I rather wait for HD 7850?
Fake. How can a game that hasn't been released be "critically acclaimed"? When they gave a press announcement for Cataclysm and Starcraft II they wrote "highly anticipated". Somebody just made a fake mockup from the other press releases.

Not trying to defend the post. But about digital download being available - why not?
They've said it'll be available for pre-download so you can get your data in advance, you just won't be able to log-in until the release date. Just like with WoW expansions. Pre-expansion patches (4.0.1, 3.0.2 - those that actually contain the expansion data, even when they don't unlock new features yet) are available for download plenty of weeks in advance. And considering that this time we'll have to download full DVD (?) not just few GBs of patch data, I don't see why not give us an option to pre-download it right from the day when release date gets announced. Servers will be incredibly overloaded during release week anyway so I can totally see them doing everything they can to avoid it.
I did not really follow Diablo 3 mechanics very closely so it's most likely pretty noobish. But I've taken my experience from WoW and Diablo 2 and tried to design somewhat balanced build that involves reliable CC, steady damage and few utility toys for when things go wrong. It's mainly focused on keeping groups of creatures under control while destroying them from distance, because that is what Diablo was always about - killing big crowds of enemies. For bosses and tough monsters, I hope that kiting with Strafe will work good enough.

And more importantly, a link that allows me to "Go to first new post" because I can't even imagine using forums without this feature any more.
