so i listened to the samples you have put up, what is the large draw to dubstep? it seems like all my younger co-workers listen to it (17-20ish)
Well to be honest, a lot of people that listen to dubstep nowadays only like listening to it because it's the IN thing right now. I like to call it the Apple Product Effect.
As for me, the draw to dubstep, and to a greater degree all EDM (Electronic Dance Music), is the fact it leaves room for your imagination to improvise upon the song. You can find songs that perfectly fit your mood and tailor it to mean what you want it to mean. Tracks that are lyrically driven don't really allow for this IMO as the lyrics are set in stone.
Flux Pavilion
Doctor P
Rusko
Document One
Dodge & Fuski
Nero
Dubba Johnny
Bare Noize
Bassnectar
Vexare
Fonik
Drumstep (Drum & Base + Dubstep):
Rusko
Netsky Remixes
Pendulum
Complextro (Electro House + Dubstep):
Wolfgang Gartner
Porter Robinson
Liberty
Rameses B
Vodge Diper
Mord Fustang
I'd also suggest checking out the vitaldnb, vitalelectro, and vitaldubstep channels on youtube. You'll find a lot of underground rising artists there.
As for a couple tracks to get you started, here are some of my favorites. Suggest selecting the highest quality on each video as the video quality also affects audio quality.
