I heard early on that the male Barbarian in Diablo 3 is the same one as Diablo 2, aged twenty years. The Book of Cain implies that the Amazon, Necromancer, Sorceress and Barbarian all lived through the events of Hell, as per an illustration on the side. The only one missing was the Paladin, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
It's been my theory that the Templar Follower, Kormac, is the Paladin from D2. However, I'll have to re-watch the video in which he was initially introduced, since a bit of his backstory is contained in that.
The Necromancer, I've heard, appears in D3, probably providing some connection to one of the D3 expansions.
I don't know what happened to the others. At least one of them has apparently gone insane, but I don't think that would be the Necro.
how is the book of cain, I'm considering buying it, in fact I really want it and will buy it when its back in stock, but after reading it is it awesome, or just ok?
If you are upset by Diablo being a woman, and you don't know why, you're probably a closet sexist.
Diablo is neither male nor female regardless of the shape the body takes. Most people are probably upset because Blizzard is not taking a traditional approach to a character we all have a certain level of familiarity with. Just because the art above shows a more feminine Diablo, that doesn't even confirm that Diablo will appear in that light throughout all of the game.
Really? Do you have some artwork or screenshots or something?
Yep it's diablo.
There is a ton of D3 art on diablo's feminine / warp like look.
Just search around a bit, even google will have images you can find.
The image from blizzcon 2011 should do the trick
Oh yeah I knew about the feminine look in D3. I just haven't seen anything official yet. I have the Book of Cain and D doesn't look very feminine in it.
Is this the image?
BTW: I'm definitely buying the statue. And probably the Arthas statue too.

Yeah me too. Will probably $300-350 USD like the Barb statue. I hope they make some other class statues.
