Hello all, this is a question for those who have tried the classes in beta, but feel free to contribute otherwise. I haven't played the beta and like alot of you I'm sure...I'm considering which class I will want to play first.
I look at the Demon Hunter and I think Amazon from D2, both being ranged physical class.
Then we have the Monk, doesn't this just scream Assassin from LoD? Martial arts related to kung fu just like the Assassin.
Then there's the Witch Doctor who summons up dead creatures, hmm... which class is that like?
My question is, do these classes play somewhat similar to their D2 counterparts? The only classes I really enjoyed were the barb and the sorc
Just thought I'd see out of curiousity why people make a male character or female character. Also why that gender?
As for me, I'd make a female character I've always leaned towards making female characters in all the games I play because I'd rather look at a girl than a guy.
I'm a male irl. I play a male in all my games if it can be helped.
I find it extremely creepy when males play female characters.
I find it even creepier when they justify it with "I don't want to stare at a but" really?
If they gave out beta keys for growing out armpit hair most of the women in Europe would have them already!
Where in Europe did you see that? O.o where I live, unshaved armpits on a woman are quite rare.
That really ruins the ideal of Europe for me At least I've got a fiance that's willing to go the extra mile lol. I don't think she would've done it if it weren't for Diablo though. Case in point as she shaved.
Found some pretty good info I wanted to share with ya'll.
No ladder
Separate Gateways (Similar to D2) with separate datasets (separate stashes, characters, gold, artisans’ etc.) These would be D3 equivalents of USwest, USEast, Asia, Oceana etc.
Four difficulties:
Level target for Normal: 1-30
Level target for Nightmare: 30-50
Level target for Hell: 50-60
Level requirement for Inferno: 60
All inferno monsters are at least level 61.
Followers are unavailable in multiplayer games
Best source of loot = Random Champions, not bosses
Most unique items get a few random stats like Rares
Some Unique and set items will be craftable from Artisans
Gems don’t have level requirements (you can use the best gems on level 1 characters)
Skills are made with what are called “snows”, which are different data sets between PvP and PvE. This lets Blizzard give skills different stats in PvP than in PvE.
Diablo 3 is online onlyParty cap is 4 players
The level cap is 60Players are intended to be about level 60 by the time they finish Hell difficulty
RMAH is softcore mode only
Hardcore mode needs to be unlocked through a normal mode playthrough
No Charm system (which was the Talisman which has been removed, likely an expansion feature)
The entire game is soloable
Permanent HC deaths in PvP is currently undetermined
PvP structure/format is not finalized, currently it’s a “team death match” format
PvP is currently 4v4 (as per the Blizzcon 2011 Demo)
Modding is not supported
No Skill treesStats are now automatically assigned upon level up
How MF party mechanics are not finalized
Loot drops are Private (you only see your own loot
Party size increases monster difficulty (Seemingly just HP in the Beta)
Party size does NOT increase number of drops
Party size does NOT increase the quality of drops
Party size does NOT increase amount of experience gained
Despite what you think Blizzard *does* actually know how to make a really good game.
Maybe wait until you've tried X system before you bash it? It surprises me how much people dislike a PvP system/modes they know virtually nothing about.
Bnet 2.0 is actually pretty good.
Sure you might like to grief, but you're in the minority, really.
D2JSP is going to be irrelevant to D3.
Yes, having gold be a stable currency is actually a good thing for the game.
Yes, Blizzard announces their games way too early.
Yes, we all want to be in the Beta too
Despite what some of you believe, most people posting in the forum *are* actually fans of Diablo and *have* actually played the previous Diablo games excessively.
I'm sorry if the word "WoW" makes you froth at the mouth in anger.
Most features in WoW are not unique or specific to WoW. lot of the features in WoW are very good mechanics that work very well in a large number and type of games.
Your time spent in D2 has no impact to how important or worthy you opinion about D3 is, sorry!
The amount of time you spend on these forums nor the number of posts you've managed to accumulate make you any better or more important than anyone else here.
Hello new person to the forum, the question you’re about to ask about Diablo 3 is probably answered somewhere in the forums, please use the search feature to find it!
That D3 release date you found at the walmart/gamestop/EB/Futureshop/Bestbuy website is not the real release date, it's an estimate so those retailers can take pre-orders.
No, Diablo 3 is not going to be Pay to Play.
No, being pay to play does not magically prevent hacks and/or bots.
She'd stopped shaving her armpits when it was announced, but Valentines day was the last draw, though she still blames Bashiok. Kinda pissed, she was talking about getting a barbarian outfit with one of those plastic swords and posing for a key on the forums but never did it. Ah well, it was kind of sexy too
Has anyone managed to actually keep their diableard even though Blizzard let us off the hook?
No way! My girlfriend nipped that in the bud quite awhile ago. She also cursed blizzard for giving me the idea.
I would hate that. I would never PvP if something like that got implemented. PvP is for fun and that's it. There's no fun in loosing items.
Do you fear death? The possibility of losing your items to a PvP death would make the fear of dying extremely horrifying. I would absolutely love that. Although I have a feeling a lot of poeple would leave their best stuff in the stash before going out to PvP.

Are you one of these people?
How will you feel, after grinding inferno for a month and not finding anything of value?
