Thanks for all the great advice Cantor. With your help and a lot of play testing I managed to come up with my current set which is a huge a improvement over my last. What I'm considering is getting the 2 piece Nat's at this point as it gives 7% crit, and dropping my Lacuni's for crafted bracers.
I have decided to begin leveling my Barb's paragon after the mob density buffs. I went for the 5 piece IK bonus as I believed it would contribute to generating enough fury for WW and what not, but after playing I've realized fury gen hasn't been an issue. I've been considering replacing some pieces with crafted ones.
Any suggestions where I should go with my gear set? Should I only stick with the 2 piece IK? Nat's 2 piece maybe? Here is my profile link:
I was looking at the gems page on battle.net and noticed that the ruby gems have different values then in game. Is this going to be the new values or are these bugged? Because at the moment ruby gems give static dmg.
Example: flawless ruby addes 14-28 damage
Couldn't help but to notice all the recent D3 hate all over the web..
And I can't figure out why.
D3 has lived up to my expectations as a sequel and a game.
In the 20 years I have gamed I don't recall another product having such polished UI and gameplay as D3. Sure the story is nothing amazing but I mean it's DIABLO, whoever bought D3 for the story must have been confused.
Looking back to the 2008 game play videos , and comparing it to the release product, I can truly see how much the game has evolved over it's development.

From the 2008 vid, the animations look very slow and "floaty". the interface looks unpolished , and the pacing seems much slower, yet people claim it to look better than what they got.
Trolls? I don't know but ..
I am currently working on my 4th 60 in game.
I myself can consider this game my "go to" game if I want to play, and I have not had that for quite some time.. maybe since the early days of WoW
I applaud blizzard for releasing such a masterful product, and yes, I'm sure many people will not agree with my opinions .. to each his own.. but Imo D3 is one of , if not the best game out there.
As a DH and having around 31k dps at the time I downed the Butcher on my first attempt at around 1 min. I'm sitting 53k dps now and haven't touched act 2. so I mean by the time you've cleared inferno and have done some farming I could easily believe 128k dps.
As a DH in inferno I can say that I have great survivability but it requires very good timing and manoeuvrability, as well as excellent discipline management. Gear and skill do play a huge factor in succeeding endgame with ANY class. I'd say play the class you enjoy as you will see similar results all across the board.
I'm loving it ! Got my DH up to 51k DPS with sharpshooter stacks and have made quite a few friends in game to farm with.
I'm at the point where I can be a bit more flexible with my build endgame and try out different combinations- champion/elite packs are now more of a fun challenge instead of being outright brutal.
I have the old "thrill of the hunt" feeling D2 used to give me and it's great. So many items are pouring in and the amount of trading / selling / auctioning is off the charts.
Thank you Blizzard for exceeding my expectations with D3. Looking forward to start progressing through act 2 soon.
what's your time zone? I live in Canada also (New Brunswick) under Atlantic time and the game launches at 12:01 AM PDT, which is 4:01AM Tuesday morning for me.
Been using a Cyborg R.A.T 5 for about a year now, amazing mouse with adjustable length and interchangeable weights. Perfect for D3 and many other games. It's amazingly comfortably and has a great weight to it.
I'd love to love the monk and play him as my first char but I've heard concerns about his fist-fighting abilities causing him to miraculously conceal his weapons and pop them back on in crazy intervals. I think I'd find this distracting. What do you think?

Yup! I totally agree. Blizz should make some kind of "hide" function for the monk's weapons, because it looks ridiculous the way it is now.

Pretty sure +14 to minimum dmg / +14 max dmg is the same thing as +14-28 dmg . 28-14 is 14

I see that later on you can acquire a ruin to reduce the spirit cost of the spell, although I don't know by how much.
Wave of light does seem to be quite the heavy hitter, but wouldn't it be more efficient to use like 4 lashing tail kicks instead?
It is obviously hard to judge from only the beta , which excludes high level play and higher level difficulties, but what do you guys think?

Lol! I think the monk is just THAT fast
