posted a message on Gems and sockets, giving us choices that matter.

Well i like the concepts but i rather have Jewels back, not as powerful as they where in D2:LoD in some cases, but some random stats, perhaps 10% of that the current item stats are. and a random set of 1-2 per gem, and legendary ones that has a nice special effect.

random stats could be anything from base stats to cooldown reduction to magic find to attack speed.

and legenday gems could have skill damage or some new effect to the no rune option for skills.

now these jewels will be permanent and one time use, except for perhaps the legendary ones. witch could cost some rare legenday material to save. ("free" to destroy from item always)

the jewelcrafter could have a "jewel mixer" plop in 3-5 jewels and get a new random one.

This is my 2 cents on how to make use of the sockets better. And it is taken "directly" from D2:LoD.

posted a message on Any reason to hang on to unused legendaries?

Keep stuff for sentimental value, and or for unique stats. (that we know wont show up on RoS items) zombie dog reduction, blizzard lenght increase, weapon throw reduction. a good set of magic find. most of these will be pretty hard to come buy in RoS. and might be worth keeping. just to maybe perhaps be able to build a unique build down the line.

but other then that its not worth to keep the legendaries.

posted a message on Items from vendors will not be salvageable.

or just let rares salvage into a chance of magic items and magic materials, lets say 0-5 for whites and 0-2 for magic.

    Quote from Saeroz

Oh... what a pity. I thought, they would just let you buy one item from a vendor an then it´s gone.
Time to clean up my stash. Good bye white belts ... :D
i would still keep the belts, as they are bought before the "special" ID from vendor sold is added, they should still salvage ^^

posted a message on PTR testers, how long does it take to finsh the Game also ptr question...

well when i levled my crusader in torment 1 only it took about 14 hours. now i diden't play fast and monsters took forever to kill due to being torment 1. however it was extremly fun. got to lvl 70 just before last boss.

now i did it again with my WD but this time i levled in adventure mode from lvl 1 on torment 1 and it was much easyer and much faster. (could skip some stuff that was to hard)

anyway due to playing only on torment 1 i died alot and i mean alot, after lvl 50 ish everythign got so cruel, stuff basicly one shoted me half of the time.

But i must say it was the best levling experiance since launch of game. witch is was great.

now doing a HC run i guess one would play on normal or hard. now you will get alot less exp in this difficulty but i guess you would never die. now levling in campaign in normal-expert will set you of at lvl 40-50 when act 5 is completed. and after that you can just go and play adventre mode and finish the rest of the levels.

but keep in mind all acts both in adventure and campaign will scale with your level. so to play it super safe you could play first part of act 1 over and over again all the way to 70.

OK now to level or not get to atleast lvl 60 and beat diablo in hell in vanilla, its quiet a fun experience. you will have fun levling tons of characters in RoS anyway.

posted a message on Demonic Essence in RoS

they are used ATM to upgrade gems from square to marquise, and crafting 1-60 legendarys and sets.

atm it is possible for RoS lvl 70 players to get em from end act bosses in act 1-4. Dunno if its a bug or intended.

else they are droping from every rare 1-60 so they are relatively easy to get.

posted a message on PTR 2.01. Master level, is was too easy, like hear from others

OFC its going to be easy when you play on the 4th easiest difficulty out of 10! when you overgear the the difficulty.

Now i can say that everything is pretty much balanced around torment 1-2 and these difficulty's will be enjoyable and substantially more rewarding.

Now loot sure the have rebalanced it alot, and sure you might not find any DPS improvements while wearing all CC, CDH, AS, gear in every slot. as for legendaries there are over 300 now some are bad and some are better.

as for the part where it will take forever to gear up better that then be done in 10 hours played.

Now the UI is another thing yes IMO it needs alot of work most stuff just seems thrown together, but the core of it all is working fairly well.

Now what irecommendyou to do is to start a new toon and level it 1-60 in strictly masterswithouthelp from your main. you will this way get a good feel of the new loot system, find plenty of legendaryies, and have the best time in the game since vanilla launch. So try it out and do not cheat (give gear from main, gems ect from main.)

Turk i think you have the curve a bit wrong, its more like

    100% reduction = 1/2 reduction

    200% reduction = 3/4 reduction

    400% reduction = 7/8 reduction

    its basically the same curve,

anyway i want to ask you something, if you got all the items what is calculated first? the CD redutcion that is % or the ones that is binary/sec? i don't wanna copy my characters with the items now that the shrine exploit is fixed. and i have not found a homoculus.

the live/vanilla client and RoS client are the same, once patch 2.0 hits in late feb early march you will get all the live data for RoS, so just sit on your live client and you will be fine.

I say play and enjoy the story for yourself. once you have killed Diablo in act 4, just play and get to lvl 60 and gear for inferno as fast as you can.

at lvl 60 you can buy a gear set for under 50 k a piece that will take you trough inferno easily.

posted a message on World Record Attempt

well going for about 50 hours without sleep i have done it a couple of times. not playing the same game monotony for all that time, sure it was when i was younger and my body could handle it better. now im pretty much a zombie after 36 hours.

Still Go for it by all means, just make sure to eat Good and balanced food, and drinking water, (no soda or other softdrinks it will just mess with your bodys balance), and take plenty of short breaks to stretch and just walk around go to toilet, prepair food ect. try do put in about 5 min of this activity every hour and you should be fine.

also dont be afraid to quit if you start feeling odd, no one is going to blame you but yourself some years down the line if something happens.

posted a message on [Poll] Should bosses drop legendarys/sets more often?
Just give End act bosses 20% increased legendary drop chance per bounty completed per act. And remove em from the bounty list (mid bosses still as bountys) now with 20% increase per bounty or 100% for 5 bountys per act. will only multiply the other factors. for example bosses have 10% chance to drop a legenday with 5 bountys is now 20%. and is only applied for that act and boss. now if you somehow manage to have 300% magic find also. it will be 10% x 4 x 2 = 80% seems fair to me (assuming the drop chance works about like this).

why would it be dead? homunculus 20 Sec CD reduction passive tribal rites: 25% CD reduction. that means Depending on the calculation but i assume the 20 Sec reduction is after the % reduction. and to get to 20 sec from 45 sec you need to get 66% reduction or 41% additional reduction over passive. and if you prepare before hand and buy yourself a good Stone of jordan with SZD reduction 8 sec you will need even less. calculated that you need roughly 13% additional CD reduction. PS. this is just my Theory crafting and nothing tested in game yet, but i can comeback with more exact numbers. but its either 41% and 13% or 82% and 26%. and also depending if Fixed or % is calculated first.

posted a message on Why the desire for a ladder system?

i don't like the ladder, non-ladder segregation with ladder having additional event and drops. i don't think this would work well with diablo 3 either.

I Instead propose, events that runs from 1 week to 2 months. in witch you compete on ladders/ranking board/whatever. To lets say. complete bountys, rifts, kill bosses, kill treasure goblins ect. or to re-complete some achevements like rare/unique monster hunts ect.

but also separate events like levling one (1-2 slots per race) character to as high individual paragon level as possible from scratch no support. within say 1-2 weeks. now you would gain the paragon gained to your regular paragon. (perhaps instantly or after race is finished. this character could be locked to only 1 chest slot and when said race is over its transferred to the regular server as a withdraw only box until its empty.

as for the other events they are account wide so both your race chars and your old day 1 vanilla chars can compete.

Sure this gives a dilemma the people with good gear to start with will always win. Yes, but they would probably have won anyway due to a huge possible time investment anyway.

Now these events can give rewards like loot bags or a number of random legendarys per % brackets. lets say 5% 10% 25% and 50% and 100% brackets. the top 5% gets 5 bags/legendarys, the top 10% gets 4 bags/legs and so on.
