First reaction is very shocked. Extremely disappointed that the first 2 acts won't be as good.
I really hope in the future once you complete Act 4 on Inferno you can hit a switch in the UI before making a game that sets everything equal. I was so looking forward to not having to see the same environments over and over again. After having said goodbye to those days, I'm forced to go there again =(
I understand their reasoning and agree with it, but especially Act 2 areas look so cool I could see myself venturing there for some sessions to farm.
Oh well. I suppose any future Acts that come out with future expansions will be together with 3 4 and Inferno. But dang, really blows.

PvP continued to feel slapped on, I'm not surprised it came down to this. Hopefully this temporary sacrifice will get us the game, heck just the freakin' announcement double time.

If you say this to me, read my post.I said pre patch 14 when it was still a generator. I did that cause I still don't know the new stuff by heart.
But regardless, the math will potentially become irrelevant in the future as afaik +%spirit generation is still a stat in the game to be found on higher level gear. So hopefully with time and luck, you'll grow to need less and less generators before wanting to use whatever Spender you want.
I'm hoping the Daibo get this stat reliably so the discrepancy is compensated for a bit with dual wielding.

Perhaps a better example from PRE patch 14:
1= Way of 1000 fists
2= Exploding Palm
1 1 2
You do the larger damage from fists, and you finish with Exp Palm, getting the bleed strike.
Are you thinking that a spirit generator is 3 hits in one? Because they're not, you execute them separately but in a relatively short time frame. So you could even have a 3rd generator and combo 1 2 3 or 3 2 1, etc.

Isn't that the passive? That makes it optional. I remember them wanting to make a generator heavy build monk viable so they threw that passive in there. You know, like how there's a passive or two to help melee wizards get around.

The idea is probably to combo. So for example use FoT for the first 2 attacks and then Crippling Wave on the 3rd. One of the inspirations for Monk class was fighting games so it's not surprising to see them use this pigeon hole, though understandably many people don't see the point in having a second generator.

In a way it makes sense though. A lot of the generators were doing nothing special at all for their first 2 phases and it lets EP have a greater sense of impact as that awesome last hit kind of feeling a la Kenshiro
I'm actually mostly worried about the spirit cost. I'm not in beta so I can't tell but from what I read about spirit complaints and such is that at 40 spirit you certainly won't be using it as much as one might want to. I guess you have to save it for that awesome moment you're sure of that you'll get the kill in 3 seconds.
I can see where they want to go with these changes but it's going to take some time to get used to. I was so looking forward to my build =(

Strange though. The moment I woke up today, I lost faith in an april release, and I've even lost faith in getting the announcement this week. Guess it was a 2 day high or something.

But Bart Smit had the April 19th pinned before this Italian leak.

Bart Smit, a retailer here in the Netherlands a few weeks ago posted april 19th. That's thursday, normally the day we get new games here. Blizzard games are typically the exception though and release on tuesdays. HOWEVER, this is not true for all retailers. I've experienced this one first hand.
I went to buy SC2 at a normal retailer and they didn't have it, yet some other random store did so apparently some do go with the worldwide Tuesdays while others (for unknown reasons) don't. Bart Smit is a pretty plain toy store so it wouldn't surprise me if they're not getting it on the world street date.
As a cherry on top, the retailer I usually visit nowadays has also set their date for April, though no day. What's interesting though is that from my experience they usually don't follow dates from rumors, and if they do, they are very slow to pick up on them. Offical data though they're very quick with. They were at least before me in finding out about Twisted Metal (EU) and Batman AC (Pc version) getting delayed.
I honestly hate myself for believing the April date because I've had my money on May for quite a long time now: ever since the delay was announced last year actually. But damn are there some fingers pointing that way. At least from my perspective.
I even dreamed the announced release date was today and that it would come out March 28th. It sucked to wake up! lol

Ok cool. Having watched those 2 movies I guess I got the wrong idea. But my 1st reason still outweighs the latter =)

The inherent slower attack speed also gives a greater illusion of impact/weight behind the attacks.
Secondly, it's easier to compare. Dual wielding almost always brings more math with it. It did in D2, WoW and looks like D3 again. I know that once you figure out and routine it it should be a fluent process but I'm not so great with numbers. When I pick up a weapon I want to see if it's replacing what I'm using asap to get back to demon killing.
