First reaction is very shocked. Extremely disappointed that the first 2 acts won't be as good.
I really hope in the future once you complete Act 4 on Inferno you can hit a switch in the UI before making a game that sets everything equal. I was so looking forward to not having to see the same environments over and over again. After having said goodbye to those days, I'm forced to go there again =(
I understand their reasoning and agree with it, but especially Act 2 areas look so cool I could see myself venturing there for some sessions to farm.
Oh well. I suppose any future Acts that come out with future expansions will be together with 3 4 and Inferno. But dang, really blows.

Not that it matters though, get some crit and it does wonderful damage =)

Regardless, I wanted to avoid fire at all costs because that's probably the most sought after resist as it works against a lot of affixes and they all suck. I kind of thought the same would be true for arcane too but fire was definitely the biggie to avoid.
I can see cold resist being a good candidate.

Until then I'm just playing alts quite casually. Just got my DH to 50, a couple of kills away from 51.
The exception to playing Inferno though is if friends are online, then the shitty drops are worth the fun.

You hit the nail on the head, sir

I'll be so happy once June 14th has passed. Then I can give zero fucks and play all I want without remorse.

Solo when no one is around, otherwise I'll likely find myself playing with my brother and/or friends once we're all on the same page at 60 farming Hell or Inferno.

Nah. Considering the time, money and effort that went in to making the short, they have to put it out. It's like making 5 commercials but never putting them out there.
Wheather or not people like/share stuff we'll see the stuff sooner or later. Quite possibly later today, but by the end of Friday for sure.

Like some of the others here I really don't know what you're raging on about, dropping F bombs at pixels. You waste your energy, sir.
People who want to PvP will do it. The game is too complicated to maintain a perfect balance, which ties in to why they always mention eSports with competitive PvP. It's been clear from the start: They want PvP to be a system where people can go to for a change of pace. One where you can punch player controlled characters in the face with. Variaties in how this happens, that's something they'll likely support, especially over time. But it IS going to be as simple as that.
The way I see it is that in order to have a competitive environment, the play field wants to be equal, or as equal as you can make it. And it's that equality that they do not wish to pursue. Let's say Wizards are ridiculously under powered in PvP. They just don't want to spend time fixing that imbalance. Consider it laziness or whatever, but it's their choice with their game.
Anyway, can you just clear up what exactly your intent is? I'll be the first to say I'm dull/dense, but clearly I'm not the only one confused here.

You can still plan out your character in Diablo 3 and there is merit to doing it. You just don't have to start all over again if your plan didn't come together. You could port back to town, give your build some thought and tweak it and jump right back in again.
THAT is I think what Jay is referring to. It's not fun to fail on your build, log out and for some people literally go back to the drawing board.
Isn't it far more fun to just stay in game, tweak, and get back to it? Ultimately a game is to be played. Otherwise you might as well just purely theorycraft and dream, never actually playing the game. Probably kind of how a lot of people have been 'playing' D3 ever since they launched the skill calculator =p

You just can't treat these comparisons in 1:1 format, they're very different in how you play and how you use your abilities.
Honestly all we can do is just wait till the game releases and actually play it in its entirety with access to everything and after some likely post launch tuning. Paper play is so different from the real deal. The theory says that in practice everything should go according to the theory, but in practice it never really does
Regardless I doubt that it's so broken that it'll feel like Barbarian completely out shadows the Monk.

But I'm happy that they've voiced the situation on monk animations because I know a lot of people care about it. I was concerned at first too but I have to say it was not noticeable at all when I played the open beta. Only like, those first couple of zombie kills before getting to New Tristram.
I'm looking forward to seeing what these new monk specific weapons will be in the future. At first I thought nunchaku but that was a discussion from WoW monks.

So you can't use it as targetless travel like Leap or Vault but as long as there's stuff around you you're extremely mobile.
