Ya know, One of the best things I like about the D3 skill system is that it (at least seems) flexible enough that you could successfully use all kinds of crazy builds.
One first look I saw your soul siphon on mouse bind, which seemed really off. But it'd be an interesting challenge to make something like this work, And I (for one lol) kinda see where your coming from. Really focuses on staying mobile and making sure you keep the dots with max soul siphon up. I could see it working with the right gear and I think thats whats awesome. \
I don't see what findulidas meant with his comment about saying you have to stand still to do damage.. doesn't make much sense. You have ZERO cast times and abilities that focus on slowing the enemy and escaping while doing dmg at the same time. Personally I like it and hope it works for you. I'm also one of those people that sees not using pets as a challenge that i'm eager to take on.
I also don't get jaclaflash's assumption that pets are absolutely necessary for Inferno when the reality is.. NOBODY KNOWS! YAY and THATS exciting!! I'm pretty stoked to play around with different builds, and even try to make random builds (ie chat gem!) work!
I do see Rare items competing with Legendary gear for the best slots if you get extremely lucky on the rolls.
As it should be.
Ya, was frustrating in d2 to find set items at low levels that are supposed to be awesome but quickly get replaced by the next acts blue. I hope I don't see one of these till Inferno honestly! Would be a huge Oh $%*t moment!
AND there are no 'set items' per se, the website is outdated. It was explained before that instead we will have legendary items that, when worn with certain other items will give added bonuses the way set items worked in d2.
Edit: sorry other posts came in while I was posting that... Overneathe, when did they say that Legendary sets were green again?
You have a source of Blizz saying there were no more Set items? I've never heard of this happening and was still under the impression that there are set items(green) and legendary (orange) that have unique looks
I'm not sweating it, I feel pretty good about this weekend being open beta as well Think about it.. last weekend of beta and i'm sure they have stuff that they can tighten up after last weekend! *crossin mah fingers!*
I like this alot, hopefully it'll start putting to rest the whole customization complaint. Alot of people just want the exact same mechanics from D2 and are a bit worried about the change. Seeing these numbers and playing in the beta makes me glad that Blizz has decided to mix things up and go against the grain.
Also, as far as the different builds, (crit barb is used alot) will probably be determined by the gear you seek and I imagine the passives will play the biggest roles as far as the name of your build, which leaves alot of room for customization in the other skills/runes you use.. good stuff!!
Hehe, i'm about in the same boat as you.. The 4 columns gets me bogged down every time! Hopefully on final release with more graphic options we'll be able to overcome that!
I think it would depend on the weapons dmg / weapons speed as well, not just the dps... For example, if your using skills with higher weapon %s you'd possibly want the weapon with the higher top end dmg.
The intelligence also increases your dmg by 1% per point. So thats something to consider as well.
I think with your example its not very cut + dry, it would come down to if you want the extra utility from the arcane regen or not.
WoW! SOO happy i found this thread! Immensly helpful with the passmark/benchmark links. I've been piecing together a new computer, trying to get the most bang for my buck and shooting for $500. This has helped me find some great deals on pieces that should be able to run D3 very well.
For anyone looking to do the same heres some stuff i've found!
Athlon II X4 631 quad processor Great bang for the buck, $70 and a score of 4352 on passmark
Geforce GTX 460 Also great deal i found one at $129 with a score of 2371 on passmark
