Grats to all who got in, enjoy it while it lasts cause it is very very short.

This is the highest number in public games I've seen to date in the beta so far.

The total players in public games atm is: 714!

EDIT: Trying to make a public game and its taken over 2 mins so far lol.

Ha! I'm soo happy that i've got a Diablo beta key. And i'm playing right now with a barbarian, i loved the new sistem of skills, lore and of xp. But i have a question.

Can i download the beta patches while playing? Thanks.

You can but some people have experienced issues. So it's best to dl the entire beta before playing.

Where in Battlenet account can you see if you got an invite? Clueless i am indeed. I logged in my B.net,nothing out of the ordinary so i guess i'm in with the majority.

Your Battle.net account should look like this if u get in, also it's faster to check your Bnet account than to wait on slow emails.

If your comp is better than this or around the same specs you should be able to run D3 easily.

    Core 2 Duo 3ghz
    4gb ram
    Ati Radeon HD 4800 512mb
And I'm running Win XP Pro

I run with everything on high at 1920x1080 except shadows, I mean come on who cares about high detail shadows lol...

I get between 20-60 fps in full games depending on wtf is going on, on my screen. Eg, lots of explosions, spell effects, flying corpses etc etc.

I've seen this before. I like the sharpness of it but man that dark look is just horrible -_-

I hope they put a sharpness filter into the game cause it does look abit bland atm.

Love the left banner, but the right... I can't like the one on the right -- despite the high-quality -- because the head and facial features immediately brought Rhonin to mind.

Lol... It has to be related to Diablo :P

Who is that in the right banner anyway?

To me it looks like a druid from D2. Concept image I think if anyone cares to have a look.

EDIT: I just did a quick check on http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Druid

My biggest peeve is that the character sheet is gone, I'm so used to pressing C to check my stats / xp / lvl / health and other things.

Not having a character stat page to me just doesn't feel like an RPG.

With the stats being in the inventory they are very small and require extra time to read. Perhaps they should put you dps number in your inventory but still keep the character sheet. I mean how are we meant to chek our resistances, armor, lvl, xp and required xp easily?

I think that's a step backwards. I like most of the changes so far(salvaging is pretty tedious now) and takes alot longer than when using the cube.

Did you notice the button at the bottom of the stats in your character sheet? That opens up to the larger sheet with all the data on it.

I have seen that and I don't like it, it doesn't show the information I require just by pressing 1 button. It is also freaking huge(top to bottom of screen) also has a scroll bar -_-.

What I'm saying is you can't squeeze everything in the character stat page into that spot. It just doesn't work.

posted a message on Nephalem Alter change. Thoughts?
I'm personally glad they changed it, however I hope they remove the cooldown while intown so we can mess around with skills without the wasted 30 sec each time(cause we're in town right?)

I'm thinking in order to stop people further switching their skills that after you use a skill that has a cooldown you cannot swap that skill until the cooldown is complete.

    What do you guys think?

posted a message on Nostalgia- Your favorite diablo memories
    Quote from Dzomlija

Everybody always says they remember the Butcher in Diablo I.

Me? My first ever meeting with Duriel will never be forgotten!

    Haha awesome.

Now try doing that with a hardcore character.

These are my favourite memories... starting with D1 through to D3 beta.

When i was 10 a friend from school had this new computer game called u guessed it "Diablo". Man that game was awesome. Played it sooo much. Single Player and over Battle.net. The most annoying thing about the original game was those succub**CHes... The amount of time I spent chasing after them with my warrior was crazy.

I made it down to Diablo's Lair. Came face to face with him and was downright terrorfied of him(thinking he'd kill me in 1 or 2 hits) I kept my distance and only attacked when his back was to me.

Somehow in that fight I remember dying but managing to get all my gear back that popped out lol. As I was getting closer to Diablo my party of adventures killed him, he dropped some gold I wanted to grab but noticed I couldn't move and was thinking "oh crap". That's when the end movie started and the first time I thought that there had to be a 2nd game coming.

After playing D1 for many many hours and finding "trainers" and got myself a Staff of Apocalypse with UNLIMITED charges...

I grew a little tired and decided to play some other games. I started playing C&C Red Alert + xpacs and Dark Reign(single player of course, really crappy Inet back in those days lol).

After completly forgetting about my beloved D1 days it was 1999 and I was out shopping with the parents and I noticed a Diablo 2 box on the shelf in some store we visited and I was like OMFG YES!! (I think I played on Battle.net with 1.07 or 1.08 not too sure) I managed to convince my parents to buy me a copy(yes I was the good son in our family haha). These were the days before I found out about hardcore btw.

So I started playing Single Player to test out this sweet game, I created a Sorceress with some weird name I no longer remember... After I managed to get to Act 2 I decided to start playing on Battle.net( on 56k YEAH! those were the days lol...) I started a Sorceress again but this time I remember I called it Soul_Butcher(First part of the name I use now and have been using for the past 10 years after some friends just decided to call me "Soul").

After playing through the entire game in normal, I began my adventures in NM. Following a powerful group of adventures I actually managed to get my self into Hell Act 4 I remember this vividly because I was lvl 34 and i was ALWAYS freaking dying... This was when I met a person called "Nick" who wanted to help me out but only if I played "Hardcore". I was like wtf... "What's hardcore?".

After explaining it to me in detail I was abit scared at first(with how many times I'd died but I decided to give it a shot(Only after the expansion had released). He also invited me into this thing called a "clan" back then I didn't really know what this thing was but it sounded cool, I joined the DiabloWorld clan or DW for short. So after making a new account with the DW tag DW-Soul(on Uswest) I began my adventures in HC where if you die you're DEAD FOREVER!

I made my first HC bow Amazon, got her to lvl 86 and died in the Bloody Foothills to a freaking catapult... yes a catapult, I remember those red embers on the ground hurt alot...

Then shortly after that I think patch 1.09 was released and by then I'd made a sorceress, another bowazon and a BO Barb all with really good gear. That's when all the hacks started to emerge. While cowing with some mates in a public game my entire D2 window froze so I had to close it with alt+F4. Upon loading back in I found my amazon with a cloak. I was freaking out going omfg you can't be serious I was no where near any cows(Maphack lol). After enquiring my mates in the same game they had the same thing happen to them but only after seeing a guy tppk my amazon(I assume he used he hacks to crash my client then cast his spells take the tp then hostile and kill me while I was standing still). I can't prove it though but that's how I think it happened).

I was angry, distraught and just wanted to quit.

I decided not to as I have friends who would help me out. And they did, I remade that Bowazon for a 3rd time but with a different name of course, a month or 3 later I was Hell rushing some old mates from the DW Clan and entered the Durance of Hate Level 3, I started clearing the level and hit the boss pack that's always there Bremm I think his name is. After standing back and firing my Guided Arrows(while watching the map(maphack shows projectiles)) I was running back and died instantly. No lag, I just died. After doing some research on the net I concluded that I died due to the nasty Invisible LE Bolts from the Lightning enchanted creature. I asked Blizz for a res they said Y-no as always. I decided to take the rest of the day off to mourn the loss of my beloved Amazon.

From then on out I started being paranoid about Pkers and playing mostly in private games. Also having my acc closed with i think the 1.10 or 1.11 patch I decided I didn't need to use hacks anymore and played completely with out any 3rd party addons. It made everything take slightly longer but meant I could'nt get banned anymore.

The rest is history, my sig shows my last attempt to get a lvl 99 character in D2 during Season 8 but with how long 98-99 actually is and with the 6 month ladder resets I decided to spend my time else where.

Fast track to September last year and checking my Battle.net account page to suddenly see a D3 PTR account attached blew my mind! This was a week after the fansites and media were granted access. So I was one of the very first in the world to test out the Official D3 Beta via the Opt-in process.

All I can say about Diablo 3 right now is GIMME GIMME GIMME. That is all.

    Quote from SwiftAusterity

Arcane missiles has some interesting skill runes for it (that we can't use yet).

Right now electrocute is the most efficient and graphically satisfying. You can seriously just use that and melt everything in sight, plus the ragdoll takes over pretty often and sends glowing body parts arcing across the screen.

The swords are fun, but it's hard to tell if a melee-build would be viable without key support powers like slow time and teleport.

In a previous Beta build I had a pretty awesome melee wizard. She used the 1h axe and an awesome shield. With magic weapon active she got up to about 180 dps(according to the char sheet) and with the frenzy shrine buff she was at about 263 dps.

Its harder to test stuff with the "RMAH" testing going as you can't exactly "get" more Beta Bucks unless you sell stuff -_-

In the Beta though and in normal a Melee wiz seems very viable. Have to wait for release to see if end game viable though, but should be from what I can tell. Just my opinion though.
