I'am a huge fan of epic music and Blizzard's sound team never disappointshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8eDv_ezOs8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7sXnFl03pU
TBH I have never really been a fan of the WoW soundtracks. here are definitely some tracks I like, such as Nightsong and I forgot the name of the other but it was made by Matt Uelemen. I always feel as if they're too grandiose and epic. They work in WoW but I've never been much of a fan of WoW. TBH I also thought D3's soundtrack was lackluster and influenced too much by Browder's WoW sounding epicness. 'The End of Days' is too grandiose for Diablo. If you look back at all Diablo songs from 1 and 2 including Hellfire they're all very singular pieces. Not much is taking the stage besides very eerie sounds accompanied by a very small amount of instruments which are mostly string instruments which had a slight twang to them. The only part of Diablo to have broken that mold was D2 LoD those songs were slightly more orchestral and epic but they still retained the eerie sense and vibe that all previous Diablo songs had to them.Diablo 3 had a few songs I thought fit the dark theme of Diablo well, one of them ironically was 'Whimseyshire', Leah is my favorite though, because it goes back to the simple eeriness present in the strings. From what I've heard so far with RoS most of the tracks sound similar to D2 and LoD. Which in my opinion is great because they're giving me a very dark brooding vibe again. Which let's be quite honest what Diablo is all about. The impending doom, never knowing what's coming next. That's what needs to be there in a Diablo soundtrack and I didn't find much of it if any at all in the original soundtrack.

Yea "Leah" was definitely the standout track of the D3 soundtrack for me too. I also think there's a lot of potential for dark and goolmy music even of the grandiose nature, when done right. For instance, Titus's theme from Space Marineor Imperatix Mundi by Jo Blakenburg.

posted a message on Idea of transmogrification

Well some people like the idea of making their character look nice over "everyone else should know what they are wearing". When you spend a good amount of time looking at the said character, i'd imagine, making it look aesthetically pleasing is a nice bonus, especially when you can keep the stats from the clown suit and look like a prince/princess.

If you're looking for that sense of prestige, then you still have it as you have to find the legendary before you can use to for X-mog.

Personally, I don't think it makes the game strange and if people really wanna know what you're wearing, there's always the armory.

I don't know why you get that vibe from him. He actually comes across as one of the more humble gamers out there but that's just me. He never really takes himself seriously either, maybe you misinterpreted his humour.
Most D3 fanboys hate him because he called D3 crap (when it actually was crap). And of course, when he quit to play PoE the shit really hit the fan. I enjoy watching his videos and like his laid back attitude. And while he's not exactly the embodiment of humility, he's definitely way more humble than most streamers out there who are absolute divas. I voted Kripp for Hearthstone and Jaetch for D3.

This is actually a pretty good deal considering the launch week will be bogged down with log-in queues, down time for patches and god forbid, the dreaded error 37. Saving 5 bucks and avoiding frustration is a pretty good bonus.

But the safety net is also highly exploitable even for the simplest of bots, And knowing that you will gain a legendary every 60-90 min is also not extremely rewarding when it finally drops.

And even if bots exploited it, what do I care. BoA.
This. Let the bots run wild. They're only ruining their own fun. It's not like they can sell their gold or loot like they did before. Now you could argue that this could give them an unfair advantage if/when they implement a ladder. But then it would be very easy to track and ban them.

Removing the AH is not one of their main selling points of the expansion. You don't even need to buy the expansion for it to be removed.
Fair enough. But i assure you that had it still been in the game(and therefore the itemization would have been shit) people wouldn't be half as hyped for RoS as they are now. Not to mention that they are removing it just before the expansion hits when they could have taken it out way before. So my point still stands. I see where they are trying to go with the blood shards. Basically using it as a currency like they did for Bonus Rolls in WoW. Only difference is that there it actually helped make up for bad RNG where as here it's actually adding to bad RNG. Not to mention D3 isn't an MMO and shouldn't really be treated like one by adding unnecessary grinds for gambling currency. Again, i have no problems with gambling (loved the D2X model). I just don't like it being forced down my throat. And yes it is being forced or else it wouldn't be a factor in the drop rate on mobs. They crammed the AH into the game by screwing up the itemization in D3 and now they are doing the same thing with gambling by splitting the % of drop rates between the mobs and the shard vendor. gg Blizz.

Just adding my reply to the news article on the front page to this discussion...

Why are they so hell bent on shoving gambling down our throats?Kill mobs and get loot. It's really that simple.A formula that worked wonders for D2X and that game lasted for years.

If they really wanna add it so bad, make it so that the legendary drop rates from gambling are so low that it shouldn't be balanced against the mob drop rates.

But no, lets add AH (and look how well that turned out) and Gambling to fool people into believing that were adding new features. I wanna play an ARPG not a GRPG.

When the removal of a game feature is one of your main selling points for an expansion, you know you've messed up big time. It happened with the AH and i can't wait to see them remove legendaries from gambling before the next expansion. I swear these guys never learn.

posted a message on Travis Day on "Legendaries/set items being soulbound"
Dunno why everyone is talking about finding legendaries that aren't ment for their class, when they said that they are going to implement the "smart drop" system where, the item will at least roll the main primary stat of the class you're playing. Yes the rest of the 5 affixes will vary but its highly unlikely that you'll get a Barb's 2 hander when you're playing a Wizard.

While i know not every legendary will be tailor made for your class, the chances of the above happening are very low with the new itemization. Keeping that in mind i'am okay with the legendaries and set items being soulbound (even though it will make completing sets almost impossible)

omg no one asked eta for loot 2.0

Pretty sure Loot 2.0 comes with the game's launch or when they shut down the AH.

Both of course could be on the same day.

Will they be adding Loot 1.5 (the console version) to the PC version of the game before RoS? or do we have to wait for RoS to get a new loot system.

Sorry to go off topic but i didn't wanna make a separate thread for this.
