So looking through the javascript on the us.battle.net/d3, I found this:
To get that image simply go to us.battle.net/d3 and type in "javascript:Nickname.open()" in the URL. So, wtf? Does this mean that there will be an open beta?

koryman101 posted a message on The Most Powerful Class For End Gameso everyone knows in d2 the BEST build/class for farming was a hammerdin with enigma and a lite sorc with an infinity on her merc could also do just as good if not better. (please don't start saying "no i had bla bla in d2 and it was better then both") so what do you think will be the case in d3?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
of course the wizard is usually the number 1 pic because she was the easiest in d2 and teleport, stop time, & all elements. but i disagree. in my opinion it will be the witch doctor, why? I'm crazy? because he will be the easiest class to solo farm (or just really help co op farm). now before you say he's like the necro and the necro was terrible at farming in d2, his pets are just a small part of him. so for farming inferno he rules because he will have fully powered (because no skill points) elemental spells like the wizard AND fully powered monsters as big meat shields that can also explode because you know how hard inferno monsters will hit you'll definitely need them. and of course he can confuse the inferno monsters and make them attack each other and flee which CC will be a MUST in inferno, especially starting out.
let me know your opinions of the best / most powerful build in d3 (check out their skills on the threads above if you need to first) -

CrusaderGT posted a message on Diablo 3's User InterfaceI'm loving it so far, the bnet tab, spell tab, character tab (even though the screenshot is a bit blurry) artisan's ui, action bar, banner system, tooltip etc. Even the item and spell icons looks cool. I can't wait for the official community D3 page. What do you guys think?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
edit: added a few collection of UI screenshots. Found a few that I'm looking for but will replace if I see a better quality version. Still searching for a good shot of the character tab, I might end up improvising.

I just want to provide a friendly reminder that this a place to spread opinions freely. That means that people who dislike the recent changes and updates are allowed to dislike them, while people who have positive feelings have equal --not more-- right to feel that way.
An attack against an opinion is not appropriate behavior, and neither is retaliation. Counter-points from one side to another, on the other hand, are 100% acceptable, and encouraged if they exist. I would hope that anyone engaging in conversations in a place like this knows the difference between the two. But to sum it up in short, civilized debate is someone trying to sway someone from an opposing party to their side of an issue. Attacks are a more destructive force that intend to devalue another opinion, or to make the person WITH that opposing opinion to leave altogether. (Think before you sling around those GTFOs.)
SO. If someone says they dislike this or that change, or all of the changes made recently, it is NOT okay to ask them why they are on a Diablo 3 fansite. It is not okay to tell them to quit crying/whining/raging, (seeing as half of them simply express distaste and nothing more.) And it is certainly not appropriate to resort to name-calling. People can dislike aspects of a game and still enjoy the game. If they're still around posting in these forums saying they hate every part of this game AFTER the game is out, well, then it might be a good question to ask them why they are even on these forums, but you shouldn't ask them that until you know for a fact they will not or are no longer playing the game at all."Never forbid something you lack the power to prevent."
-Napoleon Bonaparte
For those on the other party... People who like all the changes are not sheep. People who like all the changes are not ignorant of anything. Someone trying to explain to you why a change is awesome should not be regarded as anything more than somebody trying to help you see the good sides of this game to help you better enjoy it. If you plan on creating a negative topic about some aspect of the game, that's fine, but you should be constructive with your criticism, and you should be well-prepared for any number of people who will comment and say your idea is lame, just as readily as you may be preparing for a number of people who will support your idea. This will help you to not become a retaliator in the comments.
Last but not least, I just want to remind people that not every negative comment has to include a constructive fix to something they don't like. They're allowed to not like something and leave it at that, even if what they don't like is everything. That being said, negative comments insulting other members, players, fans, or Blizzard itself are not "posts without a constructive element," they are "posts with a destructive element," and such posts will not help your cause by any means.
Just trying to support a good community and cut down on some of the anger that's been festering around here (that's anger at other people or what they say; not "rage" against various aspects of the game.) Do your part, and we'll all enjoy our stay.
(Actual trolls and fighters whose intent is to propagate bad feelings will, of course, never really be stopped, so this post is not for them. It's intended for all you normal people. The word "troll" is thrown around irresponsibly these days, so think carefully before you call somebody who thinks differently than you a troll, and even then, maybe don't call them one anyway, because silence toward what they say is the easiest way to "not feed the trolls.") -

ScyberDragon posted a message on Diablo 3 Beta UpdateI'll keep this short and sweet. It looks like we will not be seeing beta anytime in the month of August.Posted in: News & Announcements
Official Blizzard Quote:
That's weird, they originally had the exact quote in their Inferno article and then pulled it out and only quoted "When it's ready." in that new mini-blip thing. I think his original quote on Kotaku was "by the end of September" but I didn't copy it down.
Anyway, to set expectations straight, beta in August is unlikely. But it shouldn't be too long after.
So, as of now, the best we can hope for is before September 30. -

ScyberDragon posted a message on Inferno RevealedPosted in: News & Announcements
Inferno will be a fourth and even harder difficulty that unlocks after beating the game through the Hell difficulty and getting your character to level 60. Designed as an end game objective for players, monsters faced in this difficulty will all be at least level 61. Designed with more HP, damage, resistances, and more aggressive AI, the monsters pose to face players with the most difficult challenge of the game. Along with this, some monsters and bosses will even have extra skills at their disposal that you will only see in Inferno.
The objective of the Inferno difficulty is to give players something to do once capped but would avoid running the same bosses over and over again like the Baal runs of Diablo II. The entire game will plateau in this difficulty meaning that there will be no one particular place that would be best to farm for items. Blizzard is hoping that this will give the players an incentive to repeat the entire content of the game while looking for the best items and not just one section repeatedly. Even if players find a particular area that maximizes results for their efforts, Blizzard said they will add incentives to run through the entire content.
Now for the incentive to put yourself through this challenge of Inferno. Blizzard has said that only the best of the best gear will drop in Inferno. Both statistically and visually, if players want to find the best gear for their characters, they will have to make their way through Inferno multiple times. Along with armor and weapons, other high-end items like top ranked runestones will only drop in Inferno.
Official Blizzard Quote:
The idea was that we wanted a difficulty mode where the entire game was viable. So you don't have to pick and choose key areas [to replay].
We do expect there to be a certain amount of... runs to get items, but we wanted players to do it over a lot more content. We're trying to make sure that there's a lot more opportunities for players to see a lot more variety.
With end game finally revealed, and Beta beginning in a "little while" what else could gamescom hold in store for Diablo III. Stay tuned on Saturday when Diablo's two performances and interview are being held for some more possible news.
There was also 14 new screen shots that were shown as well that you can find on our wiki.
You can also check out force's video covering this news as well.
And in case you did miss it:
It turns out that Diablo, himself (herself?) did indeed open the gates of Hell at Rudlofplatz on the 16th.
Official Blizzard Quote:
As a side note, any rumors you may have heard about a gate to Diablo’s Burning Hells opening in Cologne are completely unfounded. Seriously, nothing is happening at Rudolfplatz from the evening of August 16 — especially nothing to do with demonic invasions.
A special thanks to Lorgarn for sharing the pictures and evilenginen9 for informing on the Inferno news and hicksology for starting the discussion on the topic. -
