    Well he works for is being fired from Blizzard so of course he is in the "beta", doesn't mean the rest of us are, or that we are going to be today, or anytime soon.

    Generally the only game requirements there are for their betas is that you need to have the appropiate games, for example if you're testing Cataclysm Beta your requirement is that you must have atleast a Wrath of the Lich King expansion to be eligible for the beta.

    Other than that there is no specific game requirement to join the beta.

    No they said they would be rolling out the server in stages, meaning that EU servers may not be up and running when the beta starts, not that european players cannot participate.

    Also internet has no oceans, so it doesn't really matter where it's announced.
