Yep -anything is possible with augments really. I mean, try pushing past 70 with just an augmented weapon then come and tell me how viable WW is.

Do not touch this weapon. If I were you I would keep it as is. The rolls are really nice. In the end you might have a new meta in the future. But then again constantly planning for future and you never live in the present lol!

    This is the best advice.

Mote looks very slow and boring hahaha. I'm thinking more of a speed farmer atm. I gather ww is
    fine for this

It's actually pretty fun but you need the gear and the right set up otherwise it won't be very efficient.
I would recommend IK/R but it's a very involved build that revolves around the timing of skills and force moving Furious Charge.
If holding down the WW button and popping a few buffs from time to time is more your play style then you should look into the Frenzy thorns barb. Instead of spamming WW you spam frenzy and like WW it's dual wield as well -oathkeeper and hack.

WW doesn't take much to play but because of that it is not very efficient in terms of farming TX compared to those above.

No, not really. WW is not as weak as Raharl is suggesting. No offense, Raharl, you're just wrong.

Sucka, I'm not wrong; you just don't know what the hell you're talking about. WW is no good this season -absolute trash. The best you can do is maybe mid 50s. Non season -who cares about that as you can have 2k+ in PL points to make up for some of the loss in damage.

The author of the thread you linked even laments how terrible WW is now. If Free (the guy who wrote the WW guide you linked to) says WW needs some love take his word for it not mine.

WW will not allow you to properly GR push for the time being and it doesn't even come close to IK/R. MOTE, LoN and Frenzy barbs... to say otherwise is just plain stupid. And this is coming from a barb whose all time favorite barb build is wastes WW build.

Smart loot, eh? I don't even have a DH. All I play is barb (S5 @ PL 737).

I can get this (whatever it is I'm assuming it's decent since all my DH buddies talk about it) but I can't get a nicely rolled ancient IK helm, Mr. RNG?

I would re roll vita to attack speed to get most damage, but i have a similar on my non seaon barb i prefer the vita boost from it.

I came back to point out that this is probably the worst advice ever. To do such a thing to a beautiful weapon like an ancient IK BB should be instant termination of all your barbs and maybe your bnet account too. ;P

that guy has no idea what he is talking about in general. he said ww barb was bad last season and hota was superior for solo and such things...
Scary thing is it looks like he mains a barb too. :/

I'm not really into running Furious Charge and my Barb is more of an alt than a main as of current. So how far can Whirlwind go...? Speed Rifts, Bounties, Grifts?

Honestly, not very. WW barb is no where close to how OP it was last season.
If you have mostly ancient stuff and a good amount of PL you might be able to speed farm TX and do GRs in the 40s, maybe low to mid 50s without too much trouble.
MOTE and IK/R barbs are where it's at this season.

posted a message on Noob Player Needs Help :-)

    Hi Guys,

I played casually since D1 but stopped playing before season 1 of D3. I play maximum 4 hours a week so I guess I will stay in non-season. After I came back to D3 this week I found that I am so far behind :-) I don't even have any thing to put in for cube powers.

    [/header]

    Here is my profile:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Carpenters-1734/hero/73264757

I have a few questions and any help is greatly appreciated.

    1. I understand that the best way to gear up is to do regular rift like there is no tomorrow, and I can do T3 rift without dying but super slow. Should I focus on T1 or T2 for now?

    2. Should I start to obtain legendary gems? I can do GR18 slowly :-(

    3. For cube rare upgrades and gambling, what should I go for first?

    Best Regards,

    Carpenters

Hey, welcome back to Diablo. It's never too late to pick up in this game as it's pretty much a never ending grindfest as I'm sure you know.

    1) I would recommend farming at whatever difficulty you are basically one shotting trash and killing champs and elite packs in 10 seconds or so. You will gradually get the gear you need to start going higher in the torments. Don't worry about rushing. The legendary rates have been increased by quite a bit so you'll be decently geared in no time.

Though a majority will disagree with me, I highly recommend clearing rifts from beginning to end. Do no ignore chests or breakables or corpses as they all potentially yield legendaries and gifts. Since playing this season, I have gotten some of my best legs from these places and I will always take the time to search them. Plus, the chances of finding goblin packs and rare goblins is increased the deeper you go into the rifts after beating the Rift Guardian.

    2) Once you can comfortably farm mid torments and have a decent amount of legendary gear, at that point I would start to run GRs. Granted you can always run the lower ones, maybe GR 10 for example, to get the blood shards and nice drops after the Greater Rift Guardian is slain. That will help you gear up more quickly. But you'll need to farm regular rifts to kill the guardians to get the greater rift keys.

    3) The biggest challenge I think players face in this game is farming mats. It's boring and time consuming for most of us. But doing so enables us to create some very powerful weapons and extract the legendary affixes to strengthen our builds. For now, I would just spend the blood shards as you get them and not worry too much about crafting in the cube. The reason why is it can be very addicting to keep crafting in hopes you get that super duper awesome ancient but trust someone who's spent nearly 6-7k in Death's Breaths so far this season -the odds of this happening are very very low for a myriad of reasons. Plus, you need to know which rares produce what legendaries as well.

I hope this info helps. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer them as best I can.
    Good luck! ;D

Whirlwind with wrath of the wastes set? Can that do well?

Sadly, WW barb got nerfed big time due to the WWs and dust devils causing lag or some BS like that.
For now, the only viable builds are IK6/R4, certain LoN builds, and MOTE for 2.4.

That IK+Raekor SUCKS, maybe the worst build for barbarian ever ?
0 survability and 100% RNG dependent on guardian and rift. Most idiot build ever.

Actually, I find people who say this actually suck at running this build efficiently and in their frustration tend to blame the setup and not themselves. Granted, it is your typical glass cannon barb and it does take some skill compared to other mindless builds, but with a couple of tweaks it's easily the most powerful barb build this season if done right. I mean, if Chainer beat GR88 to get rank 1 that should be enough to contradict the TC's whining.

MOTE = Might of The Earth

I would also recommend rerolling the DMG. You can always augment this weapon to add STR but once you hit max damage roll, that aspect cannot go any higher.
