Planning to make HOTA Ik barb this season and I have a question regarding gem choice. First 2 gonna be Esoteric Alteration as purely defensive one and other taeguk as flexible off/def choice. Regarding the third gem - I'd like it to be a pure dps option. And here I'm a bit struggling with the right choice. I guess main dilemma would be between Bane of the Trapped and Pain Enhancer. Which do you think HOTA barb would benefit the best from? Maybe there are other noticible choices? Not really considering the new seasonal gem, since it's more suitable for WW-barbarian as they lack single target/RG damage.

I´ll be here all weekend and while i may sound extremely narcisstic and full of myself i can assure you that ive been playing since release and tested everything there is a reason for my behaviour and im very passionate about the class i play for years now. I guess we all would love to see video of you facerolling t6 rift with your xbow.
I was playing 3 classes in RoS so far - wizard, witch doctor and DH, which is my favorite. And I've noticed a very strange thing about 2handlers. While playing a DH, I'm finding legendary 1h crossbows, their DPS is in average 2300-2600, and I'm also finding 2hand bows and xbows, their dps is 2200-2500. That may seem OK, since 2h usually have lesser attack speed and you have your Hatred being spended slower and you get bigger numbers because of the higher damage rolls on 2h.
But. When it comes to other weapons - like swords or axes. On 1h legendaries goes with 1900-2300 dps. But 2h can go up to 3000 dps. So why DH weapons are lacking so much DPS? Since now, for DPS puprose, 2handlers are almost useless. Only if you'd pick some of them due to their legendary affixes.
So, what do you guys think - is the situation with DH 2handlers ok or it needs to be fixed?
Here's the question. I am playing hardcore and I was using Frozen Orb build, as 99% of all wizards do. My stats are 620k dps and 10m tougness, 7 apoc and 40% fire damage + 30% wave damage. I still don't have Cindercoat though.I noticed that my WoF is critting for 4-5m, which is about the same as my frozen orb did when I had cold items equipped. But the thing with Frost orb is that it slows and actually you can release a lot more Orbs, than Waves in the same period of time. So, the question to those firemages who tried frozen orb build - does it really matter to go to Fire, or Frozen Orb build is still far more efficient with same amount of gear?
