"has no idea. How to feel about the RM AH," I can't believe they put that into the game. It makes me wonder what the drop rates will be since Blizz gets a "small" cut from each RM transaction being made.
Did you watch any of the video interviews with Jay Wilson?
That didn't take long for some one to throw that back at me... NOW, having read the statements mentioned in the previous posts, I'm still not sure what to think and I KNOW for a fact I'm not the only one who thinks that the RL money idea isn't a good one. I didn't get much of a chance to watch video since my current connection is so-so. I'm going to think twice about posting next time if this is the kind of response I'm going to get...Now before the next person decides to respond to my post with a pointless, open ended, and VAGUE question. Yeah everyone's excited with making money in AH, there is a little thing us adults use in RL that has to deal with taxable income (a 1099) I might've missed a section on that. Do they have plans for on how this will work?

Sounds like you've got some personal issues there... I just asked a question.

I asked because if you had, you wouldn't have the same standpoint. The things he has said in the videos build confidence in what they are developing. I'm not going to transcribe the video for you, sorry.

Also, the people posting in dismay of the RMAH probably haven't watched the videos either, and are just coming on here and posting the first thing that comes to mind without trying to think outside the box.

Plus I figured it would have been obvious, not vague, because the post right above yours has links to the videos. Don't be so offended by a simple question, relax.

I watched an interview with Jay Wilson and he said some comforting things about the Rune system.

    See this youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ForceSC2strategy

    And this video specifically

    http://youtu.be/l2hZxhXCBP8

Edit: Comforting being that it's still up in the air and they're rigorously testing it to make sure it is an enjoyable experience for the player.

I also loved that he said they made the AH and RMAH for the players, not try and "ruin" the gaming experience as some negative people have assumed.

Am I the only one who can't read the interviews inside the spoiler-tags? Tried Chrome, FF and IE. None of the Spoiler buttons work in either browser..

Might be a plugin requirement like flash or java. Not sure, it works for me.

I am a bit peeved that we can't assign attributes ourselves. That was one thing I missed when I switched from Diablo 2 to WoW...

I didn't like how my melee Enhancement shaman had to have points invested in Spirit or Intellect and eventually when everything was changed to Agility bonuses, strength.

I was a big champion of the All Dex Amazons and the Titan Strength Fury Druid, Paladin, or Barbarian. With a certain level of gear, putting points elsewhere was illogical. That was also part of what made certain builds unique. My best Zealot was made that way because I got lucky and found a Jewel that had ED, Strength, Fire Damage, and Lowered Requirements. That saved me 26 points of strength which allowed me more points for Attack Rating (Dex) and life (Vitality). It was a much better build and I had to completely rebuild my character to take full advantage of it. I don't regret it a bit, that was part of the fun in the game.

If we had RMAH back then I could have sold that old level 97 pre-built Zealot when I made the new one :(

Personally I'm glad that Blizzard is taking control of all aspects of the in-game economy.

Gold was generally useless in Diablo 2 and players chose their currencies. Personally I preferred 3/20/20s because they were actually useful on a character (I liked a lot of physical damage/melee characters), rather than sojs that gave no benefit to your character's inventory. 290s, 20/5s, what ever you preferred, an actual copper, silver, gold, and RM system is way better.

Yes, and there are people like you who embrace change like a sheep being told to. Please. Change isn't good just because its change.

Come on don't be silly. By that mindset you'd "be a sheep" for playing Diablo 3. Nobody is forcing you to play with us. I guarantee that people aren't going to enjoy playing with you if you're going to be whining the whole time.

    Bottom Line

Keep playing Diablo 2 if you don't like what they're developing for Diablo 3. Stop whining.

Good news is, I guess, that maybe these whiners actually will boycott D3, so we won't have to play with them when release comes :)I've read some of the many new threads and several times wanted to reply and clarify things, but they all complain about the same and 95% of it is because they don't or won't understand the change.

I'm actually really excited about the Auction House bit. I wish this had been done before. I played Diablo 2 for over 6 years and was #1 Melee Dueler on USEast for a bit (Without buying my items) but when it came time to retire, I couldn't get anything out of all that time I invested without worrying about a lawyer coming after me or something.

Same thing with WoW, I had a total over over 365 days /played. Yep, I spent over a year of my life sitting on my butt playing WoW.

And every time I quit or retired? Nothing comes back to me. Every time I quit I was in the top 1% of my server, probably top 10% of the world. I could've made a bunch (eh, $300 or so maybe each time? I had PvE and PvP gear and several well geared toons) of money out of all that time I invested but I couldn't.

I don't get why people are complaining. If you want to get the best perfect gear, obtain it through the game by whatever means you feel comfortable with. The real life currency Auction House isn't going to force you into paying your hard earned dollars for pixels that you want. You can still trade with friends or sell for in-game currency.
