1: Will it always be online like the pc Version and if not well that just proves the always online aspect for the pc is stricly DRM and nothing more.
2: Will there be real money involved with the AH.
You know if i think about it if its not always online i will get it on console instead of Pc because living in Australia i reckon Hardcore will be very very hard to play with lag and all....
1: Just like starcraft , Yes or well , Most likely imho.. to prevent piracy indeed.
2. As we pretty much know all this , yes. ( unless you mean console version , as with that , nobody but blizzard has any idea about that ).
Lag? the whole combat system is based on the Client , stuff like Looting and moving items is Server-side.
So basically the combat calculations are done on your client , not through the server to help against the lag.
I actually heard monsters and where there at is based on the server side.... Its going to be very interesting to see what they do. Also yeah im pretty much in the Beta and there is lag in combat and you can tell. Mind you, you do get used to it but still hardcore would be like second reactions and stuff...

I think the operative assumption is you won't need much conversation between your pc and the servers to play alone.
well considering monsters and items and your character and npcs will be located on server i would assume there would be a lot of conversations between server. Like a mmo without the advantages ohhh a auction house....

You guys totally totally missed the point of always being online. It has nothing to do if with having broadband or not. Its the location of the servers and how bad your ping will be. Talk about blowing wind out of your ass...
My god not one mention of server location it was all about having no broadband and all the pros about being online only..... Really i thought these guys would have some integrity but damn they just lost it with me.... So people who live in other countries with no server located in said countries will be getting 350+ ping is that for the good of the game..... right.... Wait we must not mention that just the positives of being online. I really do like the podcasts but this has made me pissed...
@sithslylar: There is Torchlight, but it doesn't offer multiplayer support. So, until Torchlight II is out, Diablo 2 is still kinda king in that genre.

@Irrational: I actually disagree. What kept D2 alive was that there was not a viable alternative to the game really. I personally am glad that Blizzard will be able to monitor activity easily and ban those that bot. It won't catch everyone, but it'll catch many of them.
I kind of agree, there is really no game like d2 except for wow and i really don't want to have to group to get good items.
They are really forcing out hand here. I am still going to buy the game but it looks like i will have to get it cracked to fucking play it with no lag. This is something i do not want to do...
